You say that with such authority, yet no action was taken whatsoever because it wasn't necessary. Don't think Hamilton even complained about it... Which has got to be a first for him. Occasionally, you are just going to get blocked. It's not as if it harmed Hamilton in any way. He still made it easily through to the next session and had plenty of time left.

If you're going to start claiming that the fia is corrupt, you should find some evidence. Otherwise, this is just a ludicrous claim.



I too am getting sick of the Red Bull front wing story. It's not a trick. They've passed every test that the FIA has levied at it. Therefore it is legal. They have a very competent team of scrutineers. You only have to look at the reason for both Sauber's getting dq'd in australia to see that. Adrian Newey has cleverly performed a masterstroke that the other teams can't figure out. The worst culprit is Mclaren. I used to like Martin Whitmarsh, but now I'm getting fed up seeing him time and time again implying that Red Bull are breaking the rules. This is Adrian Newey we're talking about here. Look at the cars he's designed in the past. This is no fluke, it's ingenuity.

Technically Webber had the updates as Vettel destroyed his in fp1. Would be interesting to see how well Seb would have done with the same parts.

He was younger than all of them. Have you every heard of people maturing with age? I forgot, that if you were to put an 18 year old alonso in the Renault he would have been world champion straight away... His two championships were based on consistency and maturity. Both of which come with age (i.e experience).

So sad to see yet another race thread descend into Vettel bashing... Maybe the mods will actually do something about this... Or at least not warn me for being off topic despite the fact that I was only replying to the bashing...

It was a great effort from Vettel and Rosberg today. I can see Rosberg getting his first win soon, but I think Vettel has this in the bag. Kobayashi will be fun to watch.

My point was that Iniesta went from being a merely quite good youth player to one of the absolute best in the biggest sport in the world. Vettel may obviously do the same thing. That Di Resta beat him repeatedly five years ago does not mean he necessarily is better than Vettel today.
 
Hello guys. To be honest I found it quite a boring session, Rosberg did very well to get ahead of Lewis. Massa was completely and utterly disappointing, if you can't do better than 17th in Q1 in a Ferrari you have a problem. I still can't believe they used a set to make sure Kovalainen didn't do him. Wasn't going to happen. I am a huge Felipe fan, so yesterday wasn't a pleasant session to watch for me. Ideally I'd like Vettel to be 2nd or 3rd into T1 so we can see some racing, I'm not up for watching a procession. Let's see what Felipe can do from 10th. :rolleyes:
 
Well done to HRT for getting ahead of a Virgin, they're definitEly getting somewhere. I think their is only one certainty in this race, Kobayashi is going to KICK ASS :D

I'm more impressed by Lotus. It won't be too long before they start making Q2 on a regular basis.
 
Williams have improved since China. Good luck to them! Hopefully Rosberg wins though :)

Obviously Vettel is dog-slow. I mean, look, he got outperformed by Schumacher in the last ROC. :D

You can't ignore the car factors, but plain fact is... Vettel is fast. He is very fast. He's been impressive even in slower cars, and now he's in the best car, he's monstering it. Like Alonso and Hamilton, he seems to be able to pull those extra four or five tenths out of his car over his team-mate in difficult conditions. IMHO, that makes him at least as good.

Until we start deciding qualifying positions by having the drivers do their qualifying laps in shifter karts*, though, we won't know who's best at all.

(Michael always was spectacular in karts... so was Vettel)

No such animal. Given Alonso's pace, there's no indication that the Ferrari wouldn't be able to beat all the backmarkers. Everyone in the top teams saved their softs for Q2, because that was where some of the midfielders had a chance to leapfrog them.

Because this season we haven't needed the weather to make the races interesting?
 
On the most part that's right, but a wet race would be more interesting with this grid. Kobayashi would win :D
 
I hope the weather stays dry because the life span of the wets is a real problem. Okay if it sprinkles a little mid-race and they can stay on inters, but if we have a full wet race, we're going to have people using up all their wets over half the race distance and sliding around the rest of the race on inters.

While a good wet race is fun to watch. It's no fun to see half the field retire or tiptoe around at half the speed they should be able to do just because the tires aren't up to snuff.

Hamilton's made things hard on himself. Again. If he doesn't improve I reckon at least a bit of criticism will be coming his way.

It was partially Petrov's fault.
 
That was an amateur move by both of them.
 
With that replay of the start... Lewis really had tough luck. Webber had a very, very slow start, and he bottled Lewis behind him as Rosberg pulled up. Then Lewis tried to get around Webber and ended up losing a lot of space.

Petrov vs. Schumacher replay... looks like it's mostly Vitaly's fault (though Schumi could have given him a lot more space). Dived in from pretty far back and just couldn't brake down in time.
 
As Rossticles said, it was by both of them a sucky move.
 
That was a great tangle between the McLaren drivers.
