Oh, just so you all know, Wrexham know how to knock out Arsenal in 90 minutes. That Arsenal team of Adams, Seaman, Merson, Rocastle, Dixon, Winterburn and Smith in the early 90s came unstuck against League Two's* whipping boys. You could argue bias, but this is by far a better knockout. This is when Arsenal were a brilliant side. Defending league champions, in fact.

But I digress of course, merely wanting to mention the exploits of my own team at any given moment. Full marks to Bradford City for an excellent performance.

*Then the fourth division.

I've always thought that Mata was a bit underrated. He doesn't seem to get as much coverage as a few other Chelsea players but, Mata is always the one that seems to slot the ball into the net or get an assist.

Unless the board commit to providing a good transfer purse (which they have indicated they will do after the new Emirates deal) it will be a tough ask.

That's not a bad shout, but would his very strong Chelsea connections stop this? I think so. The Chelsea fans didn't even want him to leave.

I've always thought that Mata was a bit underrated. He doesn't seem to get as much coverage as a few other Chelsea players but, Mata is always the one that seems to slot the ball into the net or get an assist.

He was named as Chelsea's best player last season and it looks like he will probably be the best player this season as well. For him to be noticed as the best player last season and one of the best players this season ( according to Lawro and Hansen) i'm pretty sure he is not underrated. Easily my favorite player.

According to Lawro on MOTD he said if he keeps performing as well as he is it would be hard for him not to say that Mata is the best player he's seen this season.

This would probably rule out your vote for Mata being an underrated player in the Premier League :sly:

Surely if Mata keeps playing as he is he will get his chance in the national team, instead of just warming the bench. I know it's a tough midfield to get into but he deserves a chance.
 
Big game for Swansea tonight! we are at home to Middlesbrough in the cup..i seriously cant remember the last time we had a good run in either of the cup..certanitly not in my lifetime anyway!..but i think we have a chance now Arsenal are out..
 
I'm an Arsenal supporter and I still can't believe how they let that match go yesterday
they need to win something already!! Xd

Yeah, but most Liverpool fans were glad to see the back of him, I've heard.

Bet you he wins at least one trophy with Chelsea this year, excluding the CWC.
 
Through to the final of the Club World Cup after a 3-1 win, Torres was again on the score sheet even though it will probably go down as an own goal due to replays showing his shot was going wide.

Great performance by Luiz who was given a free role just in front of the back four, i'm glad Benitez has noticed he would be better used as a midfielder, hopefully it's not just a one off for this game as he played great there.

Other goals were from Mata and the other was an own goal. Nigris got their goal in the dying minutes.
 
Anyone know where I can watch extended highlights of the game? It was on at 10:30am where I am so I was at school. Anyway, I really do hope they beat Corinthians on Sunday.
 
Very happy that the Swans won last night!:)...we didnt play well at all mind, and we could have easily lost that match! but it doesnt really matter now..we're through!!👍

I have to say that watching the BBC text feed, it didn't sound too exiting. Nice to see that they are through though.

Anyway, for anyone that wants to watch the Club World cup game, the full highlights are on Chelsea TV at 8pm tonight GMT.

I can watch the final live on BBC HD or Chelsea TV but I couldn't watch the semi because I was at school.
 
So theres no big marqee games this weekend (like City v United last weekend) but there are some good-looking games like Newcastle v Man City, Spurs v Swansea and West brom v West Ham..theres also a big game on the monday night football with Reading v Arsenal..both teams need a win and both managers are under pressure..

Great results today. :) United winning, and Liverpool losing! :D
The only thing that could've been better was if Man City lost.
 
It was a pretty comfortable win for United in the end with a 3-1 win! Liverpool did get a goal back but stilil lost 3-1 to Villa..and Qpr got theyre first win of the season beating Fulham 2-1..

Pretty good day of football with no team failing to score and three 3-1 wins. United keep the gap at 6 points at the top of the league and Harry Rednap has started his comeback with QPR getting their first win of the season.
