Very good and looking promising so far, next friendly is against Valencia next Tuesday, did anyone heard about their rather dramatic journey back to Manchester?!
No.... what happened?

Another plane coming in to Manchester had to be escorted by an RAF fighter jet because of a bomb hoax and the plane carrying the team had to circle over Wales for about an hour after the discovered it was a hoax.

Ah I heard about the other plane on the news, didn't know that the Manchester United players plane was affected.

Lucky their safe now. League two action starts this weekend will be watching some of that to keep me busy until the premier league starts.

Welcome Manquillo!!! (or however it's spelt)

That is spelt correctly ^

As Cobra touched on, its the start or the football league season this weekend with Blackburn v Cardiff on Sky on Friday night, Scottish Season starts too and so does the French League and also its the Community Shield on Sunday, the new Premier League season feels like its right around the corner now..

I'm supporting oxford united like I did last season hoping they can beat Burnley this week. Also Lyon in the French league hope they can start off with a good start

MLS All Stars vs Bayern Munich is surprising me so far tbh. I was honestly expecting it to be a BM blowout by now instead of the 1-1 draw that it is at about 66' in to the friendly.

EDIT: I certainly wasn't expecting the All Stars to lead 2-1 at any point in the game either! Landon Donovan becomes the sole owner of most MLS All-Star game goals with the tiebreaker.

So is there going to be a fantasy competition this season or what?...there is only nine days to go..

Well TM says he can't do it this year because he has limited internet access so...

That's not a fantasy league that's a prediction game, it does look good and I might take part but i'm talking about picking a team and that team scoring points, making transfers etc...

..anyway Championship season starts tonight with Blackburn v Cardiff, we haven't talked about who we think will get promoted this season, I think its hard to look past Cardiff Fulham and Norwich the three relegated teams but I think Derby and Wigan will both be up there fighting, also I think Blackpool will go down, they have had some well documented problems over the summer and despite them signing 6 players over the last week those problems are going to affect them through the season..

Derby Norwich and Fulham for promotion. Blackpool to go down for sure.

So Zlatan had an eventful first game for PSG last night, scored twice in 2-2 draw, missed open goal, dived for a penalty and then missed that penalty!..

Oxford United are still on a losing streak. They need a manager who knows football and get players who can play :p. we'll see them relegation zone this time next year.

I'm boycotting the Premier League this season. I can't be arsed with it - not after they've seemingly decided not to give a collective stuff about the fact they're destroying the national game by paying big money for complete units of other national sides and doing it again this summer.

In proper football, Wednesday were briefly top of the Championship after being the first team to record a win, until Derby replaced them on alphabet difference and then some better results than 1-0 turned up. First win of the season in the first game is rare for us :D

And Blackburn Rovers had an encouraging debut against Cardiff last night. Went behind early on as we were slow out blocks, but goal in 40th minute took us level and it stayed that way all second half. Unbeaten as well in something like 13-17 games now, counting friendlies and last season as well. Promotion a legit chance for us this season.

M'boro won as well and with pretty decent stats in the game so I'm hopeful, we normally have a really bad first or second half of a season though...

Hoping Watford are up for promotion this season. Fingers crossed!

Stuart Pearce walks out onto The City Ground pitch for the first time as Nottingham Forest manager.

Arsenal 2-0 up in the Community Shield v Man City through Cazorla and Ramsey, City don't really look interested...

Only one game played in the Championship and already a managerial casualty, Mark Robins resigned as Huddersfield boss this morning, they got battered 4-0 at home to Bournemouth yesterday..

What a strike by Giroud! Take a bow! 3-0...

Arsenal win the Community shield after beating City 3-0..

Man City have completed signing of Eliaquim Mangala from Porto for around £32 million, and that might be it for City in this window as they have been limited to £49 million to spend as one of their punishments for breaking FFP rules, so unless they sell a player and use that money to buy a new one that might be it for them this summer...

49 Million, what a terrible handicap to have.

FFP might be what tanks City's chances of going far in the Champion's League, probably even for defending the PL title...

Its ONE of their punishments, another is having their Champions League squad reduced from 25 to 21 this season and they must have 8 home grown players rather than the usual 5, so like 2clicks says, that probably will affect their CL chances this year..
