Wait... what year is it? Where's Mark Webber? Why has Vettel stole a Ferrari?

Vettel pulled out a 3 second gap in the first lap. Is that an old RBR hidden under that red paint?

Both Mercedes not in front and we still don't get to see a battle for the lead? :indiff:

Surprised there wasn't a blown tire on the opening lap.

Ricciardo starting to gain a little bit on Vettel in some sectors.

Mercedes being beaten on merit at the moment.

Hats will be eaten.

I don't think Ricciardo can catch that Ferrari. Vettel has the pace to control this race for the moment.

Hamilton now nearly 12 seconds off the lead. Can't latch onto Kyvat's tail. That Merc just doesn't have the pace. Rosberg falling even further back.

Were got the 1990's style fender sparks, though underplayed.

Also the overhead pit camera reminds me of GT5 latest Pit Cam.

Alonso overtakes.

Folks, we've just seen the only overtake of the race.

Grojean with the lucky undercut on Alonso and a gutsy overtake on track.

Looks like Sainz might get an overtake on Alonso as well.

..or not. Alonso is gapping him on the straights.

Massa takes, more or less, Hulk out of the race.

Hulkenberg out. That was clumsy by Massa

That's got to be a penalty for Massa...

Nevermind. Hulk cut into him.

Rotten luck for Nico Hulkenberg. No way either he or Massa could have seen each other there, unless they knew beforehand they'd be in the same area.

McLaren brought their pitcrew from a few years ago for Button.

Cue people expecting Massa to disappear into thin air.

Virtual Safety Car essentially preventing an amazing mix up now. Good win Seb.
Edit: There we go!

Why is the safety car out? Was the VSC not enough?

I think it was a racing incident, it was clumsy, but nothing either driver could really do.

Why is the safety car out? Was the VSC not enough?
Debris on track and the crane needed to come out.

Plus, maybe, just maybe, the Race Directors had a brain wave and common semse prevailed that a Safety Car would bunch the pack up and better racing would be had.

But he can not see him.

Basically that.

Nico can't turn his head to look for Massa coming out of the pit at an extreme angle to the racetrack. And the only time he would have seen the Williams in his mirrors were right when they came together.

Pure racing incident.

For a better clean up. Under VSC everyone stays on his track position, while under SC the whole field gets backed up into a small group - gives the marshalls more time to clean up the track.

Once again the Mercs are being left for dead by the leading trio. 👍
