ViperLM24Livery.jpg

Viper's livery for Le Mans.
It is quite a basic livery but I really like the colours. Looking forward to seeing, and hearing, this beast rumble down Mulsanne again.

Those time predictions are near '88-'89 qualifying speeds, but the cars back then had the full Mulsanne for those laptimes.

Except those 80's cars had no downforce for the rest of the track due to the very long straight necessitating a very low downforce proper long tail design, so it's not really comparable.

http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/ni...1-le-mans-car-ben-bowlby-interview-2015-05-29 good topgear article on the gtr lm. Confirming fwd only, this year.

Lots of reliability problems going on in earlier development. Maybe they underestimated the time frame for development for WEC? Money restraints?

Nice to see Bowlby talking about the crash test fiasco so openly. People here said it was normal. He says it went of like a bomb.

This Nismo approach to media and communication in general is very nice. I hope other manufacturers follow suit.

Timo Bernhard's helmet for the Spa 6 hour race.

Read an interview with him about that. He knows Bellof's father for 20 years now and always had contact with him. Great move from Timo with a sad story :(

Edit: 1st training session in the rain is over, Nakajima in the Toyota did crash into the #8 Audi :(
Porsche on 1,3 and 4 with Nakajima on P2

I don't think the R10 did 3.23 in real life so your winning something,
After looking at the fastest time set by them again.... I believe that was full power (so like 942 hp IIRC), and no where near what they actually ran..

The Audi R10 with 942hp? :odd:

I don't see any offensive comments from him. He seems fine to me.
It's not that he's offensive; however, he has the mindset that since he is an amateur pay driver that he should get special treatment and pretty much poops on anything and everything he doesn't agree with. There's a tweet right now from him that is in response to a person who disagrees and DHH says that the fan responding to him should not be allowed in the stands. Huuuuuuuuuuge douche

Wish a speedy recovery for Nakajima. :( Back injuries are not anything to fool around with.

EDIT: I apologize moederators. :(

Is there any video of the crash? Wondering what caused it?

Apparently the Audi was on its out lap, and an LMP2 was behind... couple the spray with the LMP2 moving out the way, he was simply unsighted and had nowhere to go.

"I was on the straight and suddenly through the spray there was a car right in front of me; I had no time to react."

Toshio Sato
“Looking at the video of the accident it is clear he had no chance; the visibility was very poor due to the spray and there was nothing Kazuki could do.”

I believe I read somewhere that this type of back injury is caused by the reclined driving position putting the impact energy along the spine.

If so, this has been known for a while. A regulation change to make sure the driver is sat up in a normal driving position is perhaps a little overdue.

It's the same reason Indycar drivers are prone to back injuries when they crash. Same reason Bottas was injured earlier this year. The reclined position absorbs all the energy into the spine.

Sad for Kazuki Nakajima. I hope he has enough time to recover before LM test day. But let me remind you of the other Japanese driver who's name starts with a K- Kamui Kobayashi, Toyota's reserve driver! If Nakajima's condition does not allow him to be in the seat, I hope he gets the job.
