WDC Rules

  • You must select 5 drivers each week you choose to participate.
  • You must use the pick form to submit your picks. Once you submit your picks you will be able to view all submitted picks. Once you've submitted picks you can submit new picks but the final pick submitted will be the one that counts, if you decide to submit a new pick after qualifying you’ll be subject to certain penalties through the season that will increase with each infraction.
  • -1st time 5 point deduction
  • -2nd time loss of CP
  • -3rd DQ on the upcoming race
  • You do not need to sign up for anything additional to submit picks
  • Picks must be submitted prior to the scheduled qualifying start time. If a race gets postponed the deadline for picks will be moved to one hour before the new qualifying start time.
  • Failure to pick with in the time will result in a deduction of 5 points.
  • Each participant will receive 6 Consecutive Picks at the beginning of the season, these allow you to pick a driver in consecutive races up to 6 times throughout the season.
  • You cannot select a driver more than one race in a row unless you have CP, in the event you do and have no Consecutive Picks left you will not receive points for that driver.
  • In the event you don't submit picks and have 5 or more Consecutive Picks left the drivers from the previous week will be used. If you have less than 5 the highest finishing driver(s) will be used. If you have no Consecutive Picks left you will not score any points.
  • If a driver you selected fails to finish you will be able to select them again the next race without penalty.
  • If there is an error let me know, I'm human so they do happen from time to time.
  • If you join after the first round you will be given the minimum points for the races you missed.
  • At the end of the season 1 point will be awarded for each consecutive pick remaining(Maximum of 10 points).
  • The person who scores the most points in a round will also be awarded 1 consecutive pick.
  • Consecutive picks for the WCC are to be 3 for each player at the start of the season, and a bonus of two cp for the players who win a round.
  • If a user fails to submit picks for the WCC despite CP amount remaining they will still not be awarded any points at all. And will take a zero that weekend and any other weekend they don't participate.
WCC rules

· You must select 5 cars among the constructors and the finishing order you predict they’ll end up in.

· The points will be awarded by finishing position of those cars as constructor points you earn toward the WCC half of the Fantasy/Prediction F1 game.

WCC picks: If a player wishes they can pick the same five team cars all season long without penalty to their CP count, CPs unused stack up as bonus (+2) at the end of the season for each one and go toward final total pts.

So if player 1 wishes they could go MERC, FERRARI, WILLIAMS, RBR, STR all season long

However, if they wish to do MERC, MERC, FERRARI, WILLIAMS, RBR in a single week and follow up the next GP with the same picks they will be docked 2 CP due to using MERC twice in both weeks. Since one team car is interchangeable from the other using a single car each week from the same team can not theoretically count as a CP if it did it'd be the driver championship all over.

Furthermore, if you do however do MERC, MERC, FERRARI, WILLIAMS, RBR one week and then go back to your regular; MERC, FERRARI, WILLIAMS, RBR, STR you still forfeit a single CP. This is due to both cars being used prior, and still using one of the two in consecutive GP. If these above guidelines need further explaining please ask the host through pm.

Pre-Race bonus points

  • 8 before FP1
  • 6 before FP2
  • 4 before FP3
  • 3 for correct pole
Triple Crown

This will be different than past years, as the races considered part of the triple are 2015 24 hours of Le Mans, 2015 Indianapolis 500, and 2015 Coca-Cola 600.

The points break down will be different for each one but can be used for one or the other championship.

· To Win the Triple Crown you must win the most points at each event (i.e. user A wins at all three Fantasy/Prediction picks

· If a participant completes the Triple Crown they will be awarded a copy of GTPedia or the Mystery Prize. (Winner can pick.)

  • In the event multiple participants complete the Triple Crown the highest placing finisher in points at the end of the season will receive the prize.

Prize

  • The Winner will receive a year of
    gtplanet.gif
    premium membership.(WDC portion)
  • The winner will receive a special prize. (WCC portion)
  • If someone wins both the F1 competitions they will receive both prizes.
  • Prizes will be awarded following the Formula 1 finale to January 1st of upcoming year. This is to ensure that all points were distributed correctly and fairly through the season so the proper member can be crowned.
*an old rule that has been updated

**new rules that are first time to the game (may be revised before season with help from fellow players)

Sweet, I'm in. :) So the rules are the same as last year yeah?

Well since we have time before the start of the season, I thought we could spend the next few days hashing that out. If you want both championships as a collective, then the WCC will stay but probably be trimmed down.

I was happy with the way the WCC worked last year - I quite liked how using CPs worked slightly differently than the WDC because you had the choice of picking either just one car from a team or both their cars. If I remember right it did cause some confusion at the start of last year though - might be good to outline/list the possible ways WCC CP is spent in the OP? (It's explained in the OP for the WDC but not WCC at the moment.)

If you want to trim the WCC down, would it be worth combining points earned from the WDC and WCC into a single championship rather than them running separately? (Not sure if that would be better or not, just throwing it out there.)

Okay I'll update that then.

As for the trim down, I was thinking of making the team selections even more difficult. Rather than six cars, four or five instead. Because I feel the season will have a lot more contenders for the top ten spots than last year. I feel each team will have a car that can finish in the points. I can't see how combining the two would be an easy feat, I feel it'd make things more confusing.

Sounds good - five would probably be best, so it's the same as the WDC. 👍

Fair enough, and thinking about it I'd probably prefer them separate - never mind :D

The OP has been updated to show the theoretical routes one could go with the WCC picks, this can be manipulated as needed. I hope I adequately explained the WCC picks.

On the agenda that still needs to be decided by all players and not just a few is WCC, Triple Crown events, Bonus Points, and anything else you can think of. It's best to get these ironed out now, so we don't have to chase them all season long and we can just sit back and enjoy (hopefully) another season of Formula One.

Hey I'm new to this but I'm definitely interested. Could someone explain how this all works? Is the google form just ofr AUS or for the full season?

The rules in the OP are as followed. The pick form gets changed for each GP all you have to do is submit a form on time in the correct manner and you'll be fine.

It's all explained in detail in the OP but basically for each race you pick 5 drivers, and the catch is for the following race you can't pick these drivers again without spending a consecutive pick (CP) point on each of them (you get 6 of these to start with). So you have to think tactically about your choices rather than just picking the same Mercedes + Ferrari drivers every race. :)

For the constructors you don't strictly pick teams but rather individual team cars - so for each race you can put down 2 Ferraris say (put down 1 Ferrari and the best finishing car counts for you). You only need to use CP if you pick a team's cars more than twice over 2 consecutive races, so you can put a team down once each race without penalty. That's pretty much all you need to know to get going. :)

Triple Crown events

Nascar is great and all, but surely the triple crown has to be Le Mans, Indy and the Monaco GP? :D

Bonus Points

Was happy with how they worked last year, the only thing I didn't like was being given the choice at the end to "reallocate" your bonus points across the WDC and WCC, it was clever but also a bit confusing since you didn't know what everyone else was doing and so you weren't sure were you really stood in both championships. I'd prefer it if bonus points only counted towards the WDC I think.

Sorry can I edit my constructors?

My bad, I did read the OP correctly.

Mercedes/Ferrari/Williams/Force India/Torro Rosso

Well there are many variations on the triple crown, some actually include the Daytona 500 or the Coca Cola 600 due to their prestige. the 600 is usually seen as the American crown jewel race because many times the past people will race the Indy 500 in the morning and then race the 600 at night in hopes to win both in a single day.

Well that's the point though, you shouldn't know what others are doing or planning, cause the strategy of the game is then for nothing. If others have the same sentiments though I can easily put it toward just one.

Oh god, not the stupid NASCAR thing again...

Yes "god" forbid you venture out into the other realms of motorsports. Good thing I posted this in regards to the triple crown in general.

In other words not at all set in stone, and rather than being in disgust, perhaps provide a proposal as has been seen by @TRGTspecialist, the same race that I ended up using last year (Monaco) will probably be done this year. Also if you looked you'd realize that the OP is an exact carry over from the prior thread and being reworked every day since this thread has been opened.

Yeah, as the rules say you can keep voting so long as you do so before Quali. Whatever your last vote is by Quali is the one that is counted anyways. Also if you have any issues on selection you can private message me as well, good luck.

Yeah I'm still not a fan of the triple crown, even though that's what helped me win last year. Maybe if it was used as a tie break.

Triple crown breaks up the boredom and isn't something to take all to seriously, the points can be adjusted on that part so they don't have as big of an impact at the end of the year. I mean the 10 of us that did continue to play last year found the season to be boring but found the game to be fun due to how close it was at the end. So since F1 can be boring it's always nice to enjoy taking part in another series for a moment of fun.

So who ever put @pk2016F1, I don't have any idea who this is and thus I will not count these votes, if you wish them to be counted please use your real gtp user name. If it is just a joke submission please refrain from doing this or I will have to limit those who can join this through google docs.
