How can it get worse than that?

It can't.

This was the worst commercial I've ever watched. Worse than those "No More" commercials of 2014.

The fact that anyone thought this was a good idea shows how far NASCAR has gone down the drain.

Usually it's the sponsors that pull out the cringeworthy commercials.

Get that thing out of here!

@Northstar They ran the Daytona ad during the NFC championship game, good job Faux for keeping the stereotypes alive.

So, any bets on how many times we see the commercial during Speedweeks?

I'd rather here narwhals broadcast a race over any Waltrip

RTB masochist confirmed

Can someone catch me up to speed on all the new schemes? So far I've seen Elliots 3M, Edwards Subway, Truexs BPS, Baynes Motorcraft, The 44, and a few others..

The Waltrips may be bad (especially Michael), but listening to narwhals is a form of torture that is unsuitable even for the worst criminals.

I stand corrected. I thought that Bonnet ran further in that race. Thank you.
Actually, after looking up more info about this, it turns out that the plan for the second car was to have a backup car for Dale, just in case something broke on the #3 car before the race actually started.

In the event that Dale's car wouldn't start or had a freak parts failure pre-race, Dale could have jumped in the #31 car for full driver's points, as long as he started the race in the #31 car. Once Dale's car started and got on the track for the green flag, RCR knew the that the #31 car was no longer needed, and they also reduced the field by one vehicle.

That's probably overkill on the side of being cautious, but they would have felt insanely stupid had that 1 in a million parts failure happened and Dale finished 43rd with a DQ for not starting the race.

9 years later, probably one of the craziest finishes ive seen

I hate Daytona and restrictor plate racing in general but also in 2007, the Daytona 500 was also very close. I was mad because I wanted Mark Martin to win and Harvick came out of nowhere and won by inches. That was probably the last time I was ever actually excited about Daytona.

Never forget

This is exactly what NASCAR is NOT these days. No idea why they're trying to play to the false stereotype that NASCAR is for hicks when they should be trying to eschew it by playing up their ever-increasing diversity.

TFW you can't see any of @GTFan24's photos for unknown reasons.

Probably because I'm on mobile...:grumpy:
