6-10 here we come!!!

:indiff:

Granted Teddy wasn't amazing or anything but he at least took a little focus off AP, now he's back to being the entire offense.
I feel ya! This preseason Teddy was looking improved and better.

As a Minnesotans we are it's awful news. Our new QB is going to be Shaun Hill I believe unless they go get Kaepernick or McClown.

At least we are set for a good draft pick  but who knows maybe the Vikings will shock us

Feel bad for Teddy and the Vikings, hope he makes a full recovery and comes back strong next year. Romo on the other hand, this might be his last year in the NFL.

Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers, and James Harrison have long been vindicated from the Al-Jazeera report that these three players have used performance enhancing drugs. Today, they've OFFICIALLY been vindicated in a publically-released statement. So these guys can get back to football without these allegations against them.

If Peyton was clear, these guys are clear...

But I really don't think Peyton was clear, I think the NFL fabricated it, for the most part, to cover the statistically greatest QB ever.

But I definitely think these guys are clear.

That said, I am a big Brett Favre fan, so I don't like to see his records lost...Brett Favre could still be playing today if he didn't get destroyed in '09 by the Saints bounty program.

Word on the (NY) street is Vikings want to kick the tires on Geno Smith.

They had a "Help Wanted" sign outside their headquarters today.:p

Apparently the injury could have been much worse had the training staff not been so quick.

The radio was saying yesterday that the injury was so grotesque, players around him were throwing up at the sight of it.

The fact this is a non-contact injury just makes this whole story that much worse with Teddy Bridgewater and the Vikings. This is just horrible no matter how you look at it.

Besides this, and on a lighter note, enjoy the final Preseason games. Regular season kicks off next Thursday.

Ravens finish 4-0, looking alright. Really don't know who they'll keep or kick this year, seemed kind of shaky for everyone.

I wouldn't put stock in Preseason records. The 2008 Lions went 4-0 in the preseason, went 0-16 in the actual season

This is true, I know not to look too far into the preseason. But it seemed pretty ok, last time they had this preseason record it was a good regular season and made it decently far in the playoffs. Gotta be hopeful ya know? :D

Don't remind our AnthonyD1993 or Joey D on the 2008 Detroit Lions. Anyhow...

28-17 was the margin in Arlington, TX as the Houston Texans finished the Presason undefeated by taking down the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys won the first quarter leading 7-0. We later punched in two touchdowns while Dallas added a field goal to end the first half to make it 14-10. It was basically all Texans afterwards except for a pick-six by Dallas. Again- it's just the Preseason. While I'm glad we won all of our Preseason games, they don't mean anything towards the regular season. So all I am hoping for is for the Texans to play winning football consistently in the regular season.

That's all from Texans Nation. How did your boys do in their Final Preseason game?

At least they were the undisputed Preseason Champs that year.

Speaking of them, the Lions beat the Bills 31-0.

Thank you Mr. Ross.

The Eagles have traded Sam Bradford to the Vikings for a 2017 1st round pick and another pick in 2018.

Don't know what to make of that game. Really no starters played at all, so it's not a big deal. But Cardale Jones really isn't as good as I thought he was. He has an arm, but that's about all he has right now.

A lot of stuff to get to...

I read that Blaine Gabbert will be the starting QB for the San Francisco 49ers and Colin Kaepernick will be his backup. Also, I think I read Mark Sanchez signed the Dallas Cowboys. The guy forever remembered for the "Butt Fumble" is now with the clown show known as the Dallas Cowboys. What about my Texans? Sadly, I read we cut Cecil Shorts III from the team.

Can't wait for the regular season to start up again!

Geez, shows how desperate the Vikings are. A 1st round pick for Sam Bradford?

You know what you did. You know what you said. You were trolling about how one team's star wide receiver can't even catch a cold. You were saying Swiss cheese is better defense than an entire team's defense. Also, you may even praised the kickers to a team, but only because the rest of the team stinks. No matter what you've said, the time for trash talk is over, and the time for action is now. The only game that doesn't matter towards anything from this point on is the Pro Bowl. Everything else between Week 1 to the Super Bowl is all for the hunt for the Lombardi Trophy. The road to Houston begins tonight and this week.

Marquee games this opening week:
* THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Wk. 1: Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos
* SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Wk. 1: New England Patriots at Arizona Cardinals
* MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Wk. 1: Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington Redskins, and Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers

And the other games to kick off the season, all played on September 11th:
* Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons
* Minnesota Vikings at Tennessee Titans
* Cleveland Browns at Philadelphia Eagles
* Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets
* Oakland Raiders at New Orleans Saints
* San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs
* Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens
* Chicago Bears at Houston Texans
* Green Bay Packers at Jacksonville Jaguars
* Miami Dolphins at Seattle Seahawks <<< this HAS to be serious mileage between the two cities!
* New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
* Detroit Lions at Indianapolis Colts

The season is NOT over just because your team loses. Just make sure not to lose with regularity. You don't have to be the 1972 Miami Dolphins for your team to be successful. Then too, you don't want your team to be like the 2008 Detroit Lions. So play as hard as you can every game, all season long. Maybe you'll end up in Houston playing for the championship when all the action is all played out.

Welcome to the new season. Good luck to all of your teams. Stay healthy and play hard all season long.

Well put.
Go Ravens!

Apparently if he had gotten the ball forward enough in that play to come up short of the line of scrimmage, people would be saying that it's inexcusable that our quarterbacks are not being sufficiently protected.

Last night Cam Newton took a helmet-to-helmet which was nullified by intentional grounding, and people are upset about that. They're saying the intentional grounding was caused by the illegal hit. Guess what! That's what intentional grounding is for - to enable sacks to actually occur. Otherwise the QB just spikes it every time he sees a defender coming at him. Newton has a choice, he can either take the sack and hope for the helmet-to-helmet penalty, or he can try to throw it away and avoid the loss of yardage.

It's kinda pissing me off that people are advocating that we throw out the intentional grounding rule when there's a bad hit on a QB. Ok, yea, that's a penalty, doesn't mean intentional grounding suddenly isn't a penalty.

Cam Newton faces suspension after repeated helmet to helmet hits

The NFL league office confirmed it is reviewing footage of the many plays in which the huge, 6-foot-5, 245 pound quarterback used his head to slam into the crown of the helmets of nearby by Broncos players. Only one of the multiple hits drew a penalty. Unsurprisingly, Denver players and coaches were upset by Newton’s style of play.

Sundays mean something again. Week 1 of the 2016 season continues with a handful of games today and tonight. Enjoy the first week of meaningful football (as opposed to the Preseason games).

Good luck to all of your teams.
