Last chance for Blaney's chance to win.

And I guess I finally found my new favorite driver. Back to Ford I am, go Blaney! haha

No call for the 78 changing lanes before he crossed the start line? Truex dropped down well below the white line to prevent the side draft from the 21.

OT?

EDIT: NoT, Harvick didn't punt Blaney, Kes goes around both, Truex gets a vindication win, and A.Dillon hits the wall after the finish.

Pretty good race I believe. Truex was able to fire off, but there were plenty of actual battles I could see.

Truex has blown both rear tires celebrating.

Damn Blaney... Damn it! Still, great race, that 1st win is coming soon.

Suarez with that 7th place finish, great job by him. He's improving, look out for him.

I love how Danica just automatically blew up at Joey as they were both heading to the ambulance and he was trying to explain something broke. Like more times than not the blame is on her, so now that it is on no one I just find it funny she is going to get angry like that.

Joey actually was very respectful, didn't call her out, and really only had concern for what happened and wanting Aric to be alright.

Rumor has it that Aric is having having issues with his back. Saw somebody said something about his C5 vertebra.

Nothing confirmed, and no sources so take it for what it's worth.

Glad to hear Aric is OK, he needs to take his time to heal up because any back problems get magnified under stress. If nothing else, he can talk to Denny on how he did it.

Considering it is in the back, I wonder if teams and drivers will figure out some way to cushion themselves for a severe landing. Impacts on the X plane (ahead/behind) have been well accounted for, Y (sides) is getting there, but Z (up/down) impacts seem to hurt no matter the vehicle, but as rigid as Cup cars are I imagine a lot of force is taken when the car hits like that.

Does that make sense?

Glad it wasn't worse. This really sucks though. He was putting together some really good races over the past few weeks.

Just great. This is what NASCAR wanted, and will eventually implement in all races next year. Four quarters, just like football and basketball.

I've been a fan for 16 years, but every foolish decision NASCAR makes (aside from the Monster Energy sponsorship) is making it harder and harder for me to continue watching.

I like the stages, it breaks the monotony. Not going to get emotional about it. Been a NASCAR fan for 20+ years not that that even matters in the slightest.

I don't mind the stages either. Though I would change one thing about them. If a caution comes out near the end of the stage, and they restart with 5 laps or less to go in the stage, I would rather them not throw the caution and just let them keep racing.

Well I guess that answers my question whether or not to watch the 600 on the greatest day of racing. I was considering it until I heard that but even in years past the 600 has run well into the night which is something I can't do on a Sunday night anymore. The stages without shortening the distance makes things worse but now that there's another one on top of that I have to tap out for sure. This thing won't end until 1 in the morning I'm suspecting this year.

You forgot the beefed up medical team as well. Other than that you're completely right

Actually, this might be true! Four quarters!
Maybe there should also be extended halftime? The girls could come out on stage and dance and perform under the lights and fireworks!

The drivers could huddle with their teams, and the mechanics could repair battered cars!

Heaven on Earth for attention-deficited millennials. The future of NASCAR is SAVED! Oh, the joy.
