Well, there's no rain as Practice 3 has started.
They may as well race under lights since the race begins at 4:45pmAEST.
Waiting until the last minute as usual which means if there's a safety car period it'll be shortened due to time.

Even Frosty mentioned waiting 3 hours until qualifying, is a long time. I can't see how billing TCM, Stadium trucks and Carrera Cup, warrant such a late start. Sure, they got denied night racing, but make it a 300km race today and a 200 tomorrow.

Oh cool. There's also Improved Production cars racing at Darwin.

And yet if you questioned why such a late start, they'd trot out some line about WHS in the heat

So far, R. Kelly P1.
2. #12
3. Reynolds

Edit:
WELL whaddayaknow? R.Kelly P1!!!

Lebrocq ahead of Simona. The grid is all over the place.

I assume qualifying is happening right now? And I'm missing it because SuperView is all screwy on their times. One countdown timer stopped at 9:20 my time which matches the TV schedule, but the schedule and countdown timer on the SuperView page show 9:45pm.

Edit: hit refresh and now it's working.....

When was the last time Rick had a pole? Awesome for the Nissan crew.

2015. he went in too hot at turn 1. Todd was on the front row last year after Caruso's win. So, there is potential for Rick to win it.
Too many teams waited too late to set a time. The track did not come back after that early run.

Ah, yes. For some reason I was thinking that he started 2nd that year but you're right.

Good for Nissan, too bad I expect them to go back into the mid field after this.

Another bad part about the races being so late in the day there is that it makes them super late over here. Race starts at midnight. Decided to just go to bed and watch it in the morning.

Crazy 1st few laps.

Another race to forget for Nissan. Sucks for Rick, not his fault.

Going to miss the Sunday race as I will be at the drag strip, so will be avoiding social media yet again.

Todd and Caruso weren't to blame either. Just crazy by Courtney.
I think Simona said it best, about how other teams can race fair, but Nissan seem unable to.

Today is a new day.

At least the race start at 2. Qualifying on right now. Top 10 at 11:30.

Still a long way to go but it'd be a good top ten result for Pye, if he can bring it home.

Wish granted.

16th to 8th, was a great drive from Pye. 👍

Might give the team a little bit of confidence for Townsville. WR have been strong there in recent years. Though I'm not getting my hopes up too much for this year.
