They told Simona the same thing and she said it wasn't as bad as she was told.

We'll soon see how Abbie's conditioning is. Plus S2 don't run as long as VASC. Will still be hot though.

I hope she was testing the simulator in an industrial oven or sauna. They're the only things I can think of that could come close to preparing her for the temperatures she's going to experience :scared:.

What the English consider hot is a lot different from what we do. :lol: On top of the heat though. A car she's never driven, on a track she's a never driven and on short notice. Real happy for her but talk about being thrown in the deep end. :crazy:

Speaking about Leigh Diffey, the 1999 Adelaide race is on Supercars Classics right now.
 
I never actually knew that in 99, it was considered to be the single 156 lap race spread over two days. I actually like the idea and wouldn’t mind it returning. It gives the race more importance having a single winner over the whole weekend. I did just read though that it was changed to be two seperate races due to complications with cars retiring during the first leg, and those same cars not being able to compete in the second leg.

Listening to Oastler and Sheene talk about Sheene being off the smokes is pretty classic, can’t even imagine that these days haha.

I'm loving the in-car views as the drivers shift the H-pattern gearboxes.

1998 was pretty much my intro to V8 Supercars, on Speedvision, in the USA.
 
Watching that Mustang special last night, I'm so used to it now. Looks cool on my big screen.

I do hope the Camaro and Challenger, for that matter, join the series.
 
Shame that Ned whisky mob on the bonnet of Andre's car aren't the naming rights sponsor. Could have almost been "Ned Kelly Racing".

Unfortunately no. I hadn't missed a single day until my circumstances changed in 2012. Inattentive drivers and their mobile phones suck.

If it was up to me, phone users would get to watch as Mr Policeman throws their precious phone on the ground, properly smashing it & rendering it dead on impact.

Fines aren’t working as enough of a deterrent, maybe this would?

Especially if you have no opportunities to save photos, vids or contact list.

I'd prefer they be given the A Clockwork Orange "education".
 
A change to the restart rule concerning lapped cars.
Supercars has changed its regulations to ensure that all lapped cars are sent to the back of the queue at late-race Safety Car restarts.

Under a new rule to be introduced from the Superloop Adelaide 500, any lapped car circulating in front of a car which is on the lead lap will have to drive through the pit lane before or at the restart, if the Safety Car is called within eight laps of the finish or within 10 minutes of the time-certain finish.

At all other times, only cars which are two or more laps down will be required to drive through the pit lane if necessary to ensure that they are not in front of a car less than two laps down.

The effect of the new rule is to ensure that the cars which are on the lead lap are not obstructed by lapped cars when a race restarts with a small number of laps remaining.

I liked how some teams were courteous enough to pull their drivers in before a restart. Made no sense to get involved in that.

Yeah it's great, but I have two slight issues with this... why from Adelaide onward, and it shouldn't be a set number of laps. The ten minutes for a time certain race makes sense but eight laps of Mt. Panorama is a fair bit different to eight laps at Barbagallo or Symmons Plains. If the time is the same for all tracks why not make the distance a little bit closer to the same. I get that the races are also shorter for the sprint tracks, but something about it just doesn't quite make sense to me.
 
They should bring back the free pass. I understand the speed limit under yellow, but If a lapped car is in the top 10, it won't take long for it to clear, at least half a lap, before a restart.
 
Is it too late to change the Bottle-O sponsorship?

 
Looks good but imo there's too many black based cars this year.

It was always going to look like one of the previous Boost/WAU liveries. There's only so much you can do with orange as their corporate colour, and they've pretty much used up all the options to go with it (black, white & silver).
