My favourite part of the V8's this weekend was Tim Edwards laughing to Roland Dane's face when he was having his big sook.

Second favourite was seeing that T8 were only the third fastest Ford team, and only just at that. It's good to see all the other Ford teams that had been battling a clearly advantaged manufacturer giving it to the the team that had a major hand in holding them back.

Third, T8 can't dive bomb anymore... well, successfully anyway.

Its funny. Roland wouldn't have cared in the slightest about the other teams, when he was up at the pointy end of pit lane.

Coming into the season. Thought T8 would basically run away with it again. And they still might but it's going to be a hell of lot closer than it has been in quite a while, especially with Will Brown's struggles. Grove are right there with them (Kai Allen's development looks ominous. He's going to be a monster by the end of the year or the start of next), Tickford look good and Kostecki looks like he's back to his 2023 form. Its going to be really interesting how the year shapes out.

I'm pretty sure RD used the go slow tactic to make sure other teams didn't get a second quali run.

I wasn't sure how they'd go but I did think they'd be better than they've been so far. Brown in particular is struggling because of his (mostly) poor qualifying and not having a car with an advantage to get through traffic with.

One thing I've noticed is that T8 are struggling with exactly the same issues the Ford teams had been dealing with (loose rear end under heavy braking and poor long run tyre wear that's masked in qualifying by new tyre grip), but all the other teams have seemed to dial that out. I think they're going to have to throw out they're Camaro set-up book and start from scratch.

Yeah, I agree, Kai Allen's going to be a monster.

For a someone who's never driven a race car with a roof. He sure does look comfortable in one.

Get him in a wildcard at Bathurst. McLaren ain't winning anything this year anyway.

All fun and games when you sign staff from others. Except when it happens to you, I guess. Quite the salty press release. Do wonder if Payne is still on GMs radar and what the reaction would be, should they grab him as well. 😅 Also, where was all this GM money when T8 wanted it? lol

I love how racing teams forget this is just how the motorsport business rolls and that they’re all guilty of it.

Losing both Cauchi and McPherson in quick succession is pretty big, so I can understand the Grove’s being a bit frustrated by that. Weird press release though. Their replacements will have big shoes to fill, hopefully they can continue to build on their current success.

I'd be fine with just him coming back. No "We come as a pair" deals. Leave the other him where he is.

I could stomach Skaife if it means getting Crompton back. As long as Tander is still there as well.

Could have gotten away with the leaves just above the Castrol as well. Just to break the hard line.
Those hard lines are the reason (well that and the borderless logo) why I've never really liked the recent Castrol liveries for Tom Randle.

I should top looking at the Randle car. I'm getting annoyed that it's like a quick livery I put together on a new car in GT7, just so I can have something on it to do some quick laps.

Don’t look at Macauley Jones’ car then.

Hell, yeah. Woody on pole for race 2.

Didn't expect the Supra's to be this competitive so early in the season. Good stuff.

A real shame about tomorrow, but with racing next weekend too, I’m not too bummed.

I know there’s a lot going on this race, but Toyota are doing Macauley good. Probably best finishes he’s been having in his main game career.

Edit: Man! I wanted Wood to pull the handbrake to make that pass on the outside.

That was fun, lots of good battles throughout the race. Great stuff between Brown and Wood at the end there, though the smiles when they got out kind of ruins the “they hate each other” narrative.

Also congrats to Bates for coming out of the race unscathed.

Thought Brown was a bit cheeky pushing Wood onto the grass considering that he had the inside for the next corner but it was top notch racing between the both of them.

And yeah, seeing them all laughing and smiles after the race does ruin narrative the commentators keep trying to push. Whincup might be a different story but I doubt Brown hates anyone.
