Do wonder what they are going to do with the Toyota now. Think their engine is still slightly down on power in the low rev range compared to the Mustang and Camaro (altho, it didn't seem to affect them on the weekend). But I don't think either Chev or Ford would be too supportive of any parity changes to it, just given how well the Toyota has done.

Winning might actually be a disservice to Toyota. :lol:

They did get a slight change a couple of rounds back but apparently there's still a low spot in the Toyota's power curve, which I don't think anyone would argue against addressing. Well, they shouldn't, especially as it's shown to be there on the dyno. It's one of those things like Anton's car being out of the rear track limits. It's there, it's provable, so no argument (or concession in Anton's case) should be entered in to, but in typical Supercars fashion, they'll create these stupid grey areas.

The Supra is supposed to have very good aero that's difficult to bring down, so I'd expect that an increase for the other two would be what they go for first if the Supra's have too much success.

Not sure why they say the Ford is the incumbent though when it had to be changed to suit the Supra levels. Optics of having the new manufacturer come in and be the incumbent maybe?
 
It makes you wonder how many more manufacturers can Supercars realistically handle with today’s parity requirements. Could they even handle a 4th manufacturer?
 
So Supercars actually is now in part a BoP series? I missed this happening :boggled:

The changes to the Camaro were made after its performances across the first three rounds triggered the new parity review system that uses lap times and race results.

If it means manufacturers begin to reopen interest, I’m for it. Right now, I’m actually enjoying the racing after some time of not watching or caring.

You do release this won't work in reverse? It never has before and it won't again. Payne and Allen would be unstoppable with an advantage... and we're back to square one with a single team dominating.

BoP should 100% NOT have anything to do with these PARITY changes.

Seem like other factors might contribute to that. I guess Bathurst could be the real decider with the number of fuel stops.

Without a question. GM want a star driver capable of regularly competing at the front. Reynolds at this point in his career, is not that dude. Would be a top tier co-driver though. I don't see him being on the grid full time past his current deal.

Hopefully this Payne stuff is a sign that GM are willing to spend money in the sport now. If only they did this last year, T8 might have stayed with them. lol
 
I reckon this year might be the best edition of Indigenous liveries yet, the Groves and BRT cars are stunners. Good to see Monster give a little creative licence away on the Waters car too.

Honestly with the state of a certain political figures rise in popularity, I was worried we see a decline in full blown art cars, but not to be which is nice

There’s some bold designs out there, it’s great to see. I also appreciate that other Indigenous cultures are getting representation too.

It’s nice to see there’s people out there still trying to make a positive impact, in spite of those determined to regress in every way possible.


As for the race, it wasn’t the most action packed but I enjoyed seeing the two differing pit strategies play out. I was beginning to doubt Tickford could even pick up a win this year, but I’m happy for them and Cam Waters - he was faultless and damn quick.

I thought Feeney's comment yesterday about being slow down the straight was pretty telling. It's a lot harder to pass when you don't have a top speed advantage isn't it Broc :sly:

That was my thought when they played that radio message. If he thinks he's slow in a straight line now. He's going to be in for a real shock at Bathurst. :lol:

The way he just disappeared into the distance once he got past Waters, should be genuinely concerning for the rest of the grid. Dude is a freak already and he's only a year and half into his main game career.
