That's a massive impact

Oh look the Aston Martin teams figured out what the problem is with their cars,it was full of sandbags.;)

Are you suggesting they were deliberately slow for the first half of the season to get a B.O.P. boost for Le Mans

Lemme guess, there's lots of sand on the floor of their garages? :dopey:

UPDATE from Twitter:
@Jackyflatter: #Duval suffered flesh cuts (lower leg) and a cut on his neck, probably 'cause of the belt. No life danger. he's in a MRI. #24LM #LeMans2014

BoP can hit both ways. Don't believe me? Ask Corvette Racing. ;)

Glad to hear Duval is ok as that was a hell of a hit into the wall. :nervous:

Apparently, that was the same Audi that was used in the "Welcome back Porsche" video and where did it crash? The Porsche Curves. :sly:

Either that was an ironic coincidence or Lady Karma wasn't amused by audis shenanigans.

Audi seem just a tad cocky about the whole thing. No doubts they'll be strong, but karma could bite back at any time.

Corvette Racing has been affected greatly by B.O.P. lately. Pardon my ignorance, but how has that affected them this year... what are their realistic chances?

I just started watching Le Mans a few years ago, so a lot of this is new to me. WEC coverage is also pretty pitiful in the States.

Eye witnesses have confirmed that it took off and went through the fence roof first.

So happy P1s have roofs now

Many have said the same thing. Imagine if a P2 did the same :scared:

Don't want to drag this too off topic but Im glad motorsports is moving towards closed cars

Something similar has already happened, when Tony Renna died at Indianapolis in 2003. The coroner described his injuries as those of a plane crash victim, with internet rumors hinting at how the disturbing crash site looked like. If the crash happened on raceday in front of thousands of fans in the stadium and millions on TV instead of a test racing would have been forever changed.

If I ever see something like that happen in a race I don't think I could ever watch racing again. I cant stand open cockpit cars openwheel or sportscar, I think it just adds an extra level of danger for no reason. In the future people will look back at all these opencockpit cars and laugh at how dangerous they were.

If you look at Massa and Perez crashing this weekend at high speed in Montreal, you can see that if the pilot is enclosed enough by the cockpit, sits in a sturdy cell, and there's no brick wall right next to the circuit, but it's cushioned with tyres it helps a great deal already. Because of that i wouldn't like to see F1's driving around with domes to be honest.

So we can rule Porsche out for the win already seeing how far they are off the pace (if Audi and Toyota don't have to retire all their cars that is), bit of a shame no?

It's far from likely, but never say never. Under normal pace though, no chance.

Well better a two horse race than a single horse without competition i suppose. I long for a repeat of the '99 le mans where you had like what; 4 or 5 manufacturers going for the win? Those were the days :D

Coming up in 20 minutes, the 6 Hours of Le Mans Qualifying(Part 1/3). :D

What's the deal with trackside cameras and the television coverage? Are there enough because i read that in quali it's not yet at race standards?

Static cameras on the Mulsanne and down through Indianapolis towards the Porsche curves with normal tv cameras for the rest of the trackand on board cameras on several cars

Current Le Mans Weather Conditions

Tomorrow's forecast looks good for the Final 4. Hours of Qualifying, that is. ;)

Paul Loup Chatin already into the 39s in LMP2.

Jani goes top with 4'23.9. Stefan Mucke setting the pace in GT with 4'55.4, within a second of last year's pole time.

Woah, just got home and caught the crash :scared: Good to hear Duval seems to be okay, aside from the cuts.

Good to see that a 919 posted the fastest overall lap, they might be somewhat competitive, after all 👍

#14 Porsche leads with a 3'23.928

I thought the #20 was supposed to be the #1 LMP Porsche?

:D

Cioci 56'9 in GTE-Am. Pla does 38.8.

Hartley goes top with 3'23.1. Audi and Toyota yet to do a really fast lap.

Methinks they're emptying out the sandbags. ;)
