ive got a 97 accord SE with a 2.2L non-vtec and was very confused about just HOW MUCH hp it has.

I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!!

There are no 2.0l 1997 Accords. 2.2s had 130 or 145 hp, the 3.0l V6 had 170hp.

Oh, I assumed SE would have the same engine as the EX.

edit:

Type: Aluminum-Alloy In-Line 4
Displacement (cc): 2156
Horsepower @ rpm (SAE net): 130 @ 5300
Torque (lb.-ft. @ rpm): 139 @ 4200
Compression Ratio: 8.8: 1
Valve Train: 16-Valve SOHC
Fuel System: Multi-PointProgrammed Fuel Injection
Ignition System: Electronic

From Honda.com's owner link.

Doubtful. I could be wrong, but unless it's turbocharged or highly modified, I'd find it hard to believe that you'd get 200hp out of a 93 Accord engine. That's 60hp above the stock HP (assuming it's an EX with 140hp)

You wanna run that ****? I'm game. Those 4-cyl numbers are about what my stock SOHC Neon makes, and they're less than a stock DOHC Neon makes. And the Accord is heavier. MTX to MTX either one will take you, and I'll be glad to run it. I've got about $300 in mods (intake, ECU) on it and I'll own that Accord. If I took 'em off it would be more even, but I'd still win.

It also guarantees he doesn't have a "Stage II" turbo (like that means anything), let alone the "cold air intake". I just love it when idiots lie on the internet. It's so much fun to watch them make fools of themselves...

Just any old "stage 2 turbo"? Or is there someone who makes it?

Edit: Oh no! Treed! Pesky duke! :D

because a 90-93 honda accord have the same size engine compartment and the 93 offered me more hp. i do own the car. ive done all the work myself. the stage 2 turbo cost me $3000, the headers only 100, the cold air $50. i also have done some stuff 2 lighten my car.

its an h22 engine. Cost me 12,000. if u even tried to race me in an american car u would lose and i wouldnt even bother takin ur car do to the fact that theres no point in taking a car slower than me except to sell it for extra mods. ive whooped 2 mustang gts, a ford probe, a miata(who cant) Ive also done some weight lightining.

Bull****. All of it.

A 200hp 14 year old Accord - even if it was dieted down to a round tonne - would get it's ass kicked in a straight line by a Mustang GT, and a 1.8i MX-5 (Miata) would just dribble urine all over you. And then when it got to the corners both the FR cars wouldn't even need to look in their rear-view mirrors.

You can beat ANY American car? Come off it, slapnuts. Viper, Saleen S7, Corvette - hell even Camaro or BlazineXtreme's Blazer Extreme...

And I'm not anti-Japan or anti-FF. I drive a Mazda MX-3 V6. But I can spot the crap you're spouting four counties off.

no i cant beat those but my hondas engine will last a h#ll of a lot longer than those. mustang was freakin easy. no problem, miata, im pretty sure the dumby didnt know how to drive a manual transmition cuz his clutch was makin a lot of noise.

the mustang would most likely not beat me in a line do to the fact its rear wheel drive. They spin 4 2 long. I get from 0-60 in 4.5 secs.

No. You don't.

And please use this - it's in the bottom right of your posts and means you don't have to make 3 consecutive posts...

I can't even begin to tell you where you're wrong on this.

I drive a 138hp FF car and if I launch at 0rpm I have instant traction too. If I launch at 7000 rpm I don't.

FF cars are extremely poor at accelerating compared to ANY other drive type employed on road cars, as your weight is transferred OFF your drive wheels whilst accelerating.

For a 200hp car to reach 60mph in 4.5s, it would need to be:
a) Not FF
b) A Lotus Elise

I can hit 55mph in second gear in my 1.3i Fiesta (63hp). And 60mph in second gear in my 1.8i MX-3. What does this prove? Can I now hit 60mph in 4.5s in either car? Our survey says:

Nu-uuuuuuh!

FWD - almost instant no grip. Car accelerates, rear goes down, nose goes up. Where are the driven wheels?

50mph in 2nd gear!! Woooh!

The Accord was the same from 90 to 93, the most you would gain from swapping the entire engine is a couple of horsepower.

So what is it, H22 or Accord engine? Did you swap the engine again between posts?

The H22a made 200hp stock, you wouldn't need a "stage 2 turbo" to get to 200hp.
