I went to a race track for the first time yesterday and I got a lot of good panning pictures, a lot more crisp ones than what I expected.

Lately, I've been trying to put the car into the scene rather than just having the whole car fill up the whole picture, but it's difficult when there's limited room.

I've also been using a CPL filter like photographers from Evo and I really love how it looks.

This took a lot of effort to accomplish simply because I am woefully under-equipped to properly light a car in minimal takes. Composite made up from 15 exposures moving a speedlight around the Skyline.

I did want to light paint this shot but even at a 15" shutter speed I was approaching f22 which is obviously not ideal. This was shot at f4 and 1/25 sec.

My question is: How does it fly with that big pole sticking out the top?

It really does look like a model. The asphalt pebbles are too big to not be.

That's pretty cool then. The different perspective makes it look much larger than I thought it was too.

@ProjectWHaT I like the second to last one the most. The sunstars on the overpass ones are a little too strong for my taste but I like the overall composition.

I went to my first motorsport event last weekend. I had a lot of fun and took over 3000 photos. Most of them were failed panning shots but got a lot of keepers, only 19% actually haha. It started to rain cats and dogs during the last final but it seemed like it didn't effect the pictures that much.

I normally don't watch that type of racing often but I got home 30 minutes before the Penguins/Senators hockey game. Pretty cool especially the last race.
