If I only had more money...

It sounds fun.

Obviously, playing rFactor with a keyboard is just plain wrong, but, I tried the trial version...

Hey, to whoever is in charge-

I was wondering if I could get a Guest Drive/ be a Stand-in for anyone over the summer? I'm really interested in joining this series, if even for only a single race.

Well, attendance is off and on, but, I'm sure you'll fit.

I'm not in charge, but, I think Kevin, FlyinHawaiian or some people might be able to help.

Yeah you can join us, no problem. We usually dont have a full room so you wont have an issue finding a spot. Were you thinking GT or LMP? The LMP guys really need more drivers.

If you need LMP drivers then I'm sure I could do that.
Which cars are available?

Well, considering your avatar photo... I'm sorry, my teammate and I come to almost every race for BMW, in the '07 M3.

Pretty much all of the LMP's are open. There are some that are "spoken" for, but they hardly show up. Right now we can only really count on two people being there on a consistant basis. :(

Dang you.

My plan is to get a feel for the series with the time I have in the summer, and then mount a Full Season effort in the next series, with the Aston Martin, assuming it gets homolgated by then.

Alright, well, I'm sure I'll end up in one of the Pescarolos. (most likely the Judd Courage, or possibly the Hybride)

Would it be ok if I used the V12 Vantage on an experimental basis if the GT field looked a bit dry?

When is the next race? I dont see it obviously marked anywhere...

My suggestion is in future seasons require a ratio of LMP/GT, like 8/8 or if that's too much then 7/9 or 6/10. That way we're guaranteed a more level field.

Also, Hawkeye welcome! Races are Fridays every week around 9pm, qualy is usually around 8-9pm, with an open practice/qualifying session. Based on the list of courses next (this) week is Madrid.

Alright lovely, thanks for being so welcoming!

Madrid, like many of the City courses, is not my strong suit. So for this first race, I'm going to focus on setting clean laps, and staying out of the way.

Did anything even happen to you?

No soup for you!

"I wanted a taco." Meh

No, no. I was just joking.

"Oh, twenty dollars!? I wanted a peanut!"

Oh, and welcome hawkeye122.

Heheh, so was I. I just have a terrible sense of humour. :)

I agree with hawkeye comment; WELCOME, OUR FRIEND! We look forward to racing you (unless you are even faster than the "Aliens." Pfft, we won't get into that.)

I wish I knew what half of that was...

I will miss the First race at Madrid, I "Apparently" had prior plans... But after that, I'm in.

Heh, some of the others in this series, are "alien fast." I forget who said it, but Storm & I always joke about it.

Ya I've heard the term used in a few series I've been in now. Those people that, after most the field has found about as much as they can squeeze out of "pace," they show up 3 to 4 seconds faster.

And then you're praying for a slipup but half of their alienness includes consistency, so it rarely happens enough to catch them, or beat them if you do catch them.

I refuse to feed the ego machine... but, a certain guy won the Rolex Series, after joining a round late, and beat me by 10 points. GGGGGrrrrrrrr...

Naw, it's cool, I'm not angry with Seth. I got taken off in the dying laps of the last race, two corners before I had planned to pass Seth, in the series finale at Laguna Seca, by a DP car. 👎 Just bad luck, I guess.

Welcome Hawkeye!!

Hahaha yeah, and couple that with the consistency they seem to have, its almost silly. Although you say that, it was nice to see that I got the fastest lap in-race by a couple tenths at Nurburg GP last weekend. BMW pride salvaged.

Poor decision from me last stint meant I got a rather lucky third place from Kevin, although 2nd was possible if I'd pitted a lap sooner. Bah, I put that down to experience. Was good racing!

Also, I tested that Aston Martin V12 Vantage around Madrid at 550 bhp and 1400kg, since its even heavier than the BMW M3, but seems better at handling so I figured, why not add a bit of weight just to make it a nice round number. 1:22's I'm getting at the moment.

Thats actually a good idea, i can tell you for sure that me and Flyin are thinking about going LMP next season anyway. So as long as Pipi and Seth are coming back as well we should have 4 active drivers at the very least. An all GT field is fun for the GT's but i feel bad for the LMP guys, it must be boring out there.

LMP for me!!!

Ask and you shall receive. My wife gave me the ok to get a playseat for fathers day. :). That or exhaust for my car. But I think Im out of that phase now.

Ya chasing down Seth/Pipi from a lap behind, the guy behind me dropped out of contention and DNFed...it is mostly a lonely little world right now :)

We need to make the Pescarolos (sp?) more competitive. Id like to run one of those because not too many people run them.

Sure man you are the best :sly:

Nah, just a bit better than you ;) In all seriousness I wasn't mad at you for coming together with me! I even said I'd make it hard for you to pass. I'm not one to brag, but the Toyota doesn't have the best characteristics IMO. The Bentley and the R8 are better. But at long tracks like Fuji and Monza and Sarthe the Toyota is king with its high top speed.

For next season, if there is one, I won't be using the Toyota. For the guys joining lmp, I suggest the R8 or Peugeot.

Next season there will be extensive testing with the LMP cars to get much better specs.
The M3 will be replaced with the M3 CSL.
I may also look into adding an Aston, but don't count on it. Perhaps the Evora will be made competitive too.

And if you guys would like, I'm considering making a guide on how to set up rFactor with FFB and Enduracers if you'd like.

Yay to all that stuff! :D

Hahah, you're funny. Storm will have your head off in a few minutes. Storm says that the Evora's the fastest car in the ALMS. And, his lap times substantiate his claim. He's two seconds faster in the Evora, in current spec, than the M3, that I'm so happy to see replaced.

The Evora is mine next season. Just a head's up. :D
