Wow Yera, how fast were you taking those corners!? Schumacher S you had a full 8 mph on me!!!
Anyway, I'm going to walk through the whole lap three incident as I watch it. I was in the mix, which my suspicions tell me is what was going on with it. Ok, so here goes:
Heading into the first corner, I dive in on the inside of Yera after taking a huge draft boost, taking first position over Yera with Melancholy trying to follow my line through. Mel gets a nose in front of Yera, who has the inside line to Turn 2, while I have some room ahead to take advantage of. Yera holds the inside into turn 3, catching up on me mid turn before my cover of the apex slows him enough for Mel to get close behind through Turn 4. Leading through Turn 5, I've pulled slightly away, while Mel and Yera take different lines into Turn 6; Melancholy on the inside, Yera on the Outside. Yera's line sees him prevail, and Mel tucks in close behind him into and through Turn 7 at Ford Kurve. At Turn 8 (Dunlop Kehre) Mel, Yera and myself take comfortable lines through behind one another, with nobody really fighting for position at this time. Through Schumacher S, Yera closes the gap on me and pulls away from Mel, but doesn't have the space to overtake me through Turns 11 (RTL) or 12 (Warsteiner), by this time something happens to Mel and he moved down the pecking order from 3rd to 7th. Yera sublimely overtakes me on the inside of the NGK-Schikane, takes the final corner and leads going into lap 4.
Oooooh, I just noticed the start of lap 6. Kev, did you get caught heavily in my draft by any chance? You seriously whacked me coming into the first hairpin, which didn't do my tyres any good.
I just watched the Lap 3 where Mel slipped back a few places. It was a run wide out of Schumacher S and onto the gravel. I'm surprised that nobody piled into him, actually, he lost a lot of speed there.
