I have still never disconnected from GT5. I've only disconnected from Black Ops.

Thank you PD... You're better than CoD.

The differences between NAT type basically is as follows:

NAT Type 1: There is no firewall or blocked ports between your PS3 and PSN Servers. Your PS3 might be directly connected to your ISP's modem (preferred), or a router.

NAT Type 2: Your PS3 is behind a firewall, and some ports are blocked, but the necessary ports are open to allow you to access or utilize the PSN features (such as playing games online). Your PS3 might be directly connected to your ISP's modem (preferred), or a router.

NAT Type 3: Your PS3 is behind a firewall, and enough ports are blocked that you may not be able to use several features of the PSN. Your PS3 might be directly connected to your ISP's modem (preferred), or a router.

Basically it comes down to your firewall and port settings.

NAT (Network Address Translation) refers to the way your modem or router translates your public IP address to an internal private IP for communication and data transfer.

NAT Type 2 seems to be the best as if you have no Firewall protecting your home network, that's very dangerous, unless you have your PS3 in a DMZ and another PC acts as a firewall with the rest of your network behind that firewall. Most modems and routers come with a firewall feature built in, which you can modify or disable.

I've always had NAT Type 2 with Standard Bandwidth (sometimes High Bandwidth), and have had no disconnections with properly formed rooms (such as the rooms formed here) the only time I really have an issue is when I join rooms with improper settings, have low connection bars, or when my ISP starts acting up. I also have my PS3 connected through a router through a physical connection.

I have also connected my PS3 directly to my ISP's modem before through a physical connection and no change occurred, so it has nothing to with wireless versus wired connectivity.

I used to have issues before. I had a crappy ISP on top on an ancient router. I upgrqded both and everything was fixed. Basically, you have to pay to play. :(

I got a new router about 2 months ago. That fixed all of my connection problems.

What class/car are you running tonight?

Same as at Fuji. I really need some more testing. I have only scratched the surface out there with the GV5. Will weather be on?

I am online testing right now if anyone wants to join me

I havent tested anything yet, been too busy with iracing. I actually thought about missing the race because i need more practice time for the 120 minutes of thunder race thats going on tomorrow.

Please don't do that. It's the last race and it would suck for me or TG2 to take the title due to other contenders not showing up.

By the way, did you already post the standings after Fuji? I've been away from the thread this week.

Nah i havent posted it, i havent even touched it. Ever since i downloaded iracing its all i do when im not at school lol. Sorry for that, but yeah i dont wanna miss the race. I wont have a setup for it though, so hopefully i can work it out during warm ups. Ive spent the past week trying to rid my bad habits of driving with this game, now im going back to it :sly:

I haven't tested either. Didn't even buy Montegi yet. I'm starting a summer job tomorrow, so after this race I'm taking a break from GT5.

By the way, I read about you guys suggesting we do a longer race tonight...
All I want to ask is this: if you guys want to do a longer race, that's fine by me, but only if we start on time. 9pm EST is 2am here, and I have to be up by 8am.
That being said, I hope you guys understand if I ask for us to race normal distance if we get behind schedule.

re:kevin switching between GT5 and a pc sim is very jarring, and I Know exactly what you mean by 'bad habits.' You forget that after a few laps on any track you're ice-skating all of a sudden, among other things. I think after this season I'm going to take a GT5 hiatus as well. At least potentially, depending on how things play out.

I have already clinched the LMP title by Pipi not winning last race (he didn't race) so Tonight I may try my hand in GT or another LMP. There's no reason to race besides showing the Toyota can win which I've done 5 times. So I might try the Pescarolo or BMW.

Still gonna do a full pace lap? Or does everyone turn around and meet at the s curves and organize there?

I would suggest starting after the beggining of the Hunadieres straight, where the road bends a little to the right.

Kevin, if you have enough time before the race, could you please post current standings, and worst result that are about to be cut from total points?

And could someone please tell me in which position did TG2 finish at Fuji? Unfortunately I forgot to save the replay.

I've been doing some math and I'm currently first with 123 points to Kevin's 122.5 points. This after we both got our worst results extracted from total (1.5 points for me and a DNS from Kevin). I would like to know TG2's total as well since he's still a contender for the GT class title.

Can I race tonight in the Ferrari?

:scared:

Your the only person I know that can go through the S's without lifting off the throttle.

We need all the people we can get. So I'm sure you would be welcomed. 👍

Tez, its worth a shot. Can you even stay to watch or does it boot you then also?

I'm not sure what it's going to be like to be honest, FH. I'll join the practice lobby soon to test it out, but I'm not expecting to stay on longer than a few minutes, let alone the whole night.

Just going to grab a cup of tea, then I'll be on.

I hope that I can get off of work quick enough to make it tonight. I should get off in about an hour or so. I hope I can haul 🤬 home and get on quick enough.:sly:

I am unsure of when I will get off of work. It might be 20 min. Then again it might be an hour.

I'm Mr. Laggy McJitter tonight it seems, based on everyone else's reaction to a mock 2-lap race we done. I was wondering what happened with Yera and Blaze when they careered off, my fault for lag, I guess. Well at least you know how I felt at laguna after being swept off my a gust of mighty wind; only saving grace for you guys was that you know your culprit... mine was invisible. LOL

Just got home, downloading the GT5 update then ill be heading in. Yera i dont have time to post any standings, but its so tight i think which ever one of us finishes in front of the other pretty much wins it. But im not gonna stress about the standings, its been a fun season with good competition. After this race im definitely taking a GT5 break as well.

Don't worry, I figured it out already. TG2 is out of contention by 2 points. After this race I'll lose 2 points and you'll lose 0.5 points. So its like you said, whoever finishes ahead between us two gets the title.

EDIT: Just figured I need to finish at least in 6th place, because if we tie in points you win due to have won more races.

Sorry for the rage quit guys. A storm hit us. No big deal, but we had 70 mph winds and the lights started flickering. Went into little girl mode and had everyone come into the basement along with all the pets.

Was fun doing NASCAR with Kevin though. I could hear GTA honking his horn in frustration.

I think my tv is fried. All the colors are messed up and it wont read any of the signals from my ps3 or cable box. :( should have invested in a surge protector.

I rage quit too, FH. I'm just so out of GT5 these days. I can't get used to fighting perpetual understeer and tire wear. Had some good fights with Yeratel and Gtamann (I think) though. Even for a moment with cnd.
