I saw Yera go off the track. Was he able to make it back into contention? Kind of felt bad cause I know he was in contention for the championship. Dont know how Kevin finished, but the vette really sucks on this track as far as drafting went. Made it really hard for us to catch up to the pack.

You missed a ****ing good race. Enough said. 3rd Podium for me, and ever so possibly could have been BMW's first and only win. Yera came 2nd, and Kev won.

I apologize to yeratel for the incident coming into Indianapolis. Sindladar and I made contact and I was completely out of control. Nothing intentional.

Yeah what a way to end the season, me and Yera coming down to the last lap only seconds behind. I barely held on, i was on my 5th lap of tires and he was breathing down my neck through the final S's. Closest finish all season by far just .7 tenths of a second. I knew from the pre-season races that Yera was going to be a very tough competitor, im kind of surprised i pulled this one out.

FH i wish you could have stayed and we could have played shake n bake the whole race  it was definitely fun while it lasted. I almost had a FUBAR moment when i had to make a sudden wheel correction and it shook one of the wooden posts on my tv stand out of its slot. My stand was tilted with the left side down for a few laps until i could get in the pits. If it had come off completely the wheel would have hit the floor lol.

Good race though guys, good season, enjoyed it even though some of the regulars didnt race as much. Im off to iracing for a while, but ill definitely stay in the loop for season 5. 👍 Ill get the final standings up sometime this weekend hopefully. This last one will be a special one so it will take time.

Wish me luck tomorrow, doing my first official iracing event. 42 drivers per split (ill likely be in the bottom split or close to it), 2 hour race event featuring the Riley Daytona Prototype and the Cadillac CTS-V Racecar @ Watkins Glen. I just hope i dont crash too many times, ive never even tried to do more than 3-4 laps at a time on that course and i dont know it very well :nervous:

I'll be taking a short break also. Since the TV went out I'm looking at it as a sign that I need to get back on rFactor. Any of you guys want to meet up?

Kevin - Any links to a live stream for that event?

That was decent fun, kinda lame move taking mediums and a short pit. I should have stayed out one more lap on the 1st stint, and never taken mediums. I lost too much time on them. I think I could have won the race if I would have taken that strategy.

Given you were a full minute behind, I doubt it. You'd have lost too much time on the extra lap you said you should've taken, that if I didn't pass you at the line prior to that extra lap, I'd have passed you on the Mulsanne straight 40 seconds later. To be honest though Seth I think all in all you had a great race in that Vantage. Whatever specs you had on the car seemed to work well. I gotta say though, I was practically coasting behind you, cnd and TG2 on the first two stints as you battled, and just focussed on saving my tyres and braking super early to make sure draft didn't throw me into the back of your struggle. At one point, you slowed me down a heck of a lot with your defensive lines. I was frustrated since you managed to hold the road off so well, I didn't know whether to applaud you or PIT you. :sly:

If not for my spin outs it would've been a race I probably could've won by a 2-digit margin. But.... pressure got to me, and on one of my last couple stints I let slip a massive lead over Yera (couldn't see Kev all race), then with him breathing down my neck I screwed it again to give him 2nd. I got it back only to notice my tyres were dying going through Porshce Curves, and then the damage was done when Yera siezed a chance as I ran wide. The last pit I was screwed, purely because Yera was behind me. I knew what he was thinking, "whatever Storm does, I'll do the same... that way I can stay in his draft." I knew from my big lead before that as long as he was away from my draft I needn't worry about racing too hard, and I'd have done the opposite to him if the tables were turned in that instant, i.e. if he'd have stayed out and he was 2nd I'd have pitted, and he he'd have pitted when he was 2nd I would've stayed out. I had enough life in the tyres to make it work, but sadly being in the position I was I couldn't control the outcome much.

I'm glad with 3rd, especially since it was a 3rd that even with screw-up saw me challenge the eventual top 2 guys in GT, and moreso because I actually got to stay in the lobby without lagging anyone off-track. WOOOO!!! :dopey:

I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who participated this season. I enjoyed the company you all brought and the racing was amazing. I will definitely come back here to season 5, if you'd be so kind as to have me back. I should give Mr.Melancholy a big thanks for being asked to be his teammate. I would've missed out big-time if he hadn't. Its been fun!

Only for the top group of drivers, which isnt me lol. They do stream their big events with announcers and commercial breaks its really cool to get into the top split.

here is an example

Kevin or gatrs, couple questions. Which one is better Rfactor or Iracing? What do you have invested in iracing? Tracks and cars $. None of the websites say how much they cost just says you have to buy individually. I know just watching youtube iracing looks better and rfactor has more cars. But iracing has more racing with bigger races, like the one your doing today. Rfactor you have to pay for a room? Each time? $60? I just want to get one, just need to know which one. Don't have time for both and don't want to get stuck with the one no one has. Thanks!

I went with iracing because it has structure in its game. In rfactor all leagues are user created and while you can do user created league in iracing, they do official iracing events as well. Plus there is a safety rating in iracing, it takes away points if you go off course, hit walls or other cars and enter/exit pits dangerously. You have to improve your safety rating to compete at higher level events, which keeps from "noobs" or "dirty drivers" from running around wrecking everyone. Additional cars and tracks cost more money, so in the end i think you pay more for iracing than you would rfactor, but in my opinion you're paying for a better service.

That's true. I just got a computer so tonight I'll hook it up and check into it more. Thanks! Didn't want to get stuck with iracing and everyone in rfactor. Thanks again for the info. Have to find another racing game where I don't have to change my tires every 3-5 laps. Like at le mans.

Yeah ive been doing some 20 lap races with the miata cup car, and tires are not an issue. Its not uncommon to have your fastest lap at lap 15 even

I only have rFactor right now. Every time I go back to it I fall in love with it all over again. But I'm not ready for it to be my main go to racer yet. Thats the only reason I dont have iracing. I knew I wouldnt be on it everyday and you have to pay to play. But like Kevin said, its structure is what your paying for.

Pisses me off because I'm pretty sure the iracing dev team is smaller than PD and they are able to accomplish so much more. Granted, PD is limited to the PS3. Just seems like PD is off in their own little world and they dont even bother to see what the competition is doing and try to offer something similar.

Sorry guys. Seems whenever I get away from the PS3 and play rFactor, I end up getting mad at PD instead.

Well that was fun... and frustrating. I started 12th in class, TON of incidents lap 1 and somehow i made it through. About half way through the race (1 hour), i was up to 4th and having a blast until a DP absolutely ran through me like i wasnt even there. Sent me flying into a wall and had to spend 18 minutes on pit road while everyone passed me. I ended up finishing 9th and i drove the 2nd half of the race with my wheel cocked to the right because of the damage. Overall it was fun, but coulda been a much better outcome!

Congrats on that Kevin, especially since you were a bit nervous given how many times you've raced on that track.

Oh yeah, how am I going to send you that race replay? I tried attaching it on PS3 message but it only attaches still images.

You have to save it to a jump drive and then upload it to a file sharing site. Remember when PD said you would be able to upload vids straight to youtube.

Yeah what FH said, although i dont necessarily need the replay. Just the actual finishing order because apparently i never saw you, gta or cnd.

But yeah, the guy who hit me must have apologized 5 times lol. I never once responded to him other than to say wow, you got me good man. I guess thats racing, at least i wasnt a part of the destruction derby that was lap 1.

Sorry I missed the last race, couldn't get a stable connection.

As for the replay, you have to export it to the XMB (which I'm sure you already figured that out), then copy it onto an external device. Make sure the external device is formatted to FAT32. The replay data will be found under Game > Save Data Utility. It is recommended to compress the replay data via Winzip, Winrar, 7zip, or any other similar means as the data is split into multiple segments. Also, make sure to include the original folder and its name that contains the replay files, otherwise the PS3 will recognise the data as being corrupted. The final step is to upload the file(s) to a file host (i.e. Mediafire). Then anyone can download the file.

Fun fact: A replay can reach up to 2 GB total in size (roughly 13 hours worth), which is broken down into smaller chunks.

I have sent files of replays to someone before, and them to me.... but that was on Skype since we were on that, not over a file share site. I did realise that you had to have the folder name the same as the content in it, although I had to retreive the folder name and manually edit it, since it came up with ### at the end.

Haha! I recall someone saying that the game lets you know when its stopped "recording" a race after a certain point.

I didn't know you can send files via Skype, but then there's Email as well. And, yes, I saw that message twice when I did the 24 hour races. And there's probably a good reason it stops at 2 GB (*cough* FAT32 *cough*).

Anyone else notice we had a lot of people throughout the season come here, sign up, then not show for one single race? Dont know why someone would do that, we also had quite a few that only showed for one race then disappeared.

Coming from the guy driving the car with the most power in the series? You should have won with your car having 580hp. Taking mediums cost 3 or 4 seconds per lap over 4 laps. An early stop put me off sequence when I had the lead with THAT GUY. Those two things accounted for the gap at the finish. I was running 520hp +14kg to make 50/50 weight.

Sure, I had the most power, I also had the most weight in the series, and proved at times that I don't necessarily need all 590 bhp to be quick in that BMW; actually sometimes all that power is a waste, when strangely I can corner better with limited power. Ran 521 bhp at Monaco, 550 bhp at Madrid in qualifying before I was told to stop sandbagging, and now 580 bhp at Sarthe. Oh, and I've been running 1350 instead of 1342 since before Nurburgring, which.... doesn't really do much in all fairness lol. The only thing that's really killed me this season is my inexperience and lack of consistency.

Oh wait, how many times have I said, "Ah I could win if I can work on my consistency, but that what I get for being inexperienced in endurance racing" through out this whole season? huh, tell me... coz I've run out of fingers trying to count them, mate. Jeez, sometimes you're cool, but then you can be such an a**hole sometimes too...

One stint losing 3-4 seconds per lap for 4 laps would've only meant a 16 second loss in time overall. Big ****ing woop. If everyone raced a perfect race, including you, including me... it still doesn't change the idea that you winning at Sarthe was..... unlikely.

After driving that Mazda yesterday, and not even touching the front tires for 20 odd laps, and running through rear tires 2x as quickly, I finally understand you, Storm... But, the BMW ran through tires in all four corners too quickly.

Unlikely? Stop with your rants. I'm tired of your attitude towards me. I had a legitimate shot but pitting early took a nice 30-40 seconds away from the time spent on track. Do some more homework and you'll understand the less time in the pits = more time on track.

 If only you knew... :ouch: Yes, even I, the guy who was picked on in this series, is telling you to stop...

In saying "was" I mean that I won't be coming back.

Hey, I tried to show up for more races, but things were out of my hands for this.
