Of course prices are the same for all European countries or for all the states in America, but we in Europe pay more than in America due to the taxes.

I dot not wish to be rude but this is what I have been saying throughout all this thread and I am amazed that some one has only just taken this in .:)

This is the primary reason why Australia should be paying less as we do not pay these over inflated taxes that Europe does as the U.S./Canada does not
the reason why the wheel is cheaper in the U.S. as again it should be in Australia ! :)

Regards Paul :)

Ustasa I don't get what you're trying to accomplish here. They aren't/can't change the price of the wheel because of your rant. Fanatic's posts summed it up perfectly. If you have an issue take it up with the office of fair trading, who will do nothing.

This is why I asked if you were new to Australia. It's like you've never noticed we get over charged for everything. Open your eyes and spread your legs like the rest of Australian public. This is perfectly normal pricing.

It is clearly obvious what I am trying to accomplish here which is Australian's to get a fair go on pricing and be charged the same prices that U.S./Canada and Europe are being charged of course without the U.S./Canadian and European taxes they pay again Fanatec is responsible for this as they again have been responsible for standardizing prices throughout the whole of U.S./Canada and Europe or do you think that the office of fair trading in these countries has intervened:) it is plainly painfully obvious that Fantec has controlled the prices in U.S./Canada and Europe
as they can also do in Australia if they would only make the effort . :)

Your descriptions are confusing does this mean that if I have not opened my eyes and taken it from behind that I am not Australian . :)

On such an international forum with your descriptions I think Australians will be perceived as people who receive with open arms getting swindled and enjoy getting it from behind because of their lack of moral fiber . :)

You sound like you have money to burn and it is not of a great burden to you ? I would prefer to stay in the gutter than rise and take one in the rear for complacency . :)

Regards Paul :)

I have not just taken this in. I have always known that we pay more but I'm OK with it. I'm OK with it even though our salary here in Estonia, where I live, is many many times lower than in other European countries like Germany or France. Do you see me complaining in every possible thread about it? No!

In terms of staffing and all, however I know loads of people who'll want the Fanatec wheels as I said
"the demand for their products are more"

At first they were really small and not many people outside of Germany knew about them... (some people don't know that they made PS2 wheels) Now people in Australia (which is very far from Germany) know about them. They are becoming bigger and bigger... they need to adapt .

I'm not having a rant at Fanatec because as I've said, they make great products and have a huge following because it was coincidental that I first noticed Fanatec when they made the first Porsche wheel. They are getting bigger and bigger and it's a shame that they can't give good service to Australia.

I also wholly agree with all of this !

And I also think Fanatec make wonderful product's (this is why I want to buy one , but not be held ransom to it in price) as I think anything German is made to perfecting quality standards this is not a Fanatec witch hunt Thomas comes across as a genuine guy that listens to his customers and has a genuine interest in his products and rectifying problems , I just wish he would do the same for Australia and rectify the issues we have in pricing by making it available in price to Australians (please note I have been in contact with Fanatec for over a year and a half now asking if they could put Australia in as a country selection in the Fanatec web store so it can be affordable to Australians only to get the stock standard answer of it will be soon this was way before the outcome of the Glutenous Australian distributor was even considered and only just now have been told from Thomas it will be some time in the future) not just the elite I want nothing but a fair go on pricing which any other U.S./Canada and European Fanatec customer enjoys and yes they should "adapt" and as I have always been saying and also has to standardize pricing world wide as Logitech have done so as not to disadvantage other countries (such as Australia) as again which they have done throughout the U.S./Canada and Europe , so I am not asking anything out of the ordinary or for discounting just the same that thing every other U.S./Canadian and European Fanatec customer enjoys I really do not see why people are so against another country that is disadvantaged in pricing to have a fair price instead they wave the Fanatec banner and think it is alright to disadvantage one country as long as their country is not , it really is terrible to see such contempt and double standards in what appears to be such a community based forum ? :indiff:

Cashed up Fanboys need not comment :)

Regards Paul :)

Anyway...........

In other news, can anyone please tell me if the fanatec wheels work on GT and other games out of the box, or is there a lot of setting alterations to be made. I only ask because my DFGT only works correctly on GT:P , but in other games im yet to find a good set up for it.

To be honest I can't remember definitively, but my recollection was that my Turbo S did albeit with Force feed back strong enough to rip my arms out of their sockets,

Just do it and get the Turbo S!! Looking at the league table you need cheering up!:)

Ha ha very funny! :)

That good to know, thanks for your reply. I assume you were able to adjust the FFB to a suitable level.

Yes it plays like a dream especially since I went to the latest firmware version all set for GT5 now.

Well, our wheels certainly "work" out of the box but if it really fits your driving style is a different thing.

but the big advantage of our wheels is, that at least you can make adjustments independent from the game if you want to.

Thanks Fanatec. from what I've read and seen on the net, the wheels suit a smooth driving style, which is perfect for me. I was just concerned i might have the same difficulty with other non GT games, as i do with my DFGT.

Is the GT3RSv2/Clubsport Edition available in the US store?

I am about to order one and it doesnt say on the US site if it is instock or not. I checked the German store and it says it out of stock, not sure if this also applies to the US store or not.

Thanks

Beliall, I also went from DFGT to the v2 with clubsports, and it was so smooth, no trouble at all. In fact I had very high expectations , and it has been even better than i hoped. And somehow( the clubsport peddles probably) i'm faster! For anyone thinking of making the big purchase, you wont regret it, its amazing! I loved my logitechs they were awsome by the way, but not even the same thing really.

Excellent to hear that, now i dont have to worry when i put my oreder in nextr month

I ordered the GT3RS wheel and S pedals last Thursday and they appear to have shipped Friday. Will find out in the next few days.

It is on on stock unless we clearly mention that it is out of stock.
The US warehouse is different from the German warehouse.
But there are just a few units left in the US. But thre is a new shipment of wheels arriving very soon.

Thank you both.
I just placed my order for the GT3RSv2/Clubsport Edition. Cant wait to try it out when it gets here.

Hi, only just discovered this website/ thread, read the last few pages but not all 100+ pages, so bear with me if this is a common problem.
Basicaly my wife bought me the turbo s wheel for Christmas and have enjoyed using it with forza3 on the xbox, and ofcourse looking forward to using it with gt5, however I do have 1 issue, it seems to emit an intermitten high pitch 'electric' noise/whine which is really irrating as it goes right through my head, if u know what I mean.
Is it faulty or fixable, it's the only thing I can fault the wheel on but it is grating and has had me hit the off button and walk away just to stop the noise!
Also, as I'm here ;) , any links to what the led display means, had no instructions in the box and would like to know if I can improve the wheel in anyway (although in fairness I don't feel it needs to be improved but I wouldn't want to miss out on anything :)

The noise should be normal, it's the ventilation for the FFB. I was also "freaked out", but seems to be normal.
If you lower a bit the FFB on the wheel it should get a bit better or just up the volume of the game ;)
For the LED go to the fanatec site and download the manual of the wheel. There the Led is explained.

So for my first impressions after 2 weeks :

Marvelous, amazing, cool, impressive, ..... (take what you want)

After years of G25 (had it since the release) i thought the g25 hit it pretty well but this wheel (PWTS) is just amazing.
It's hard to really get the to tell how it improved but i will try.

The wheel is stiffer in the handling which is far more realistic than the G25. (PWTS = like mechanical with assisted servo / G25 fully servo)
The FFB is not only stronger (i don't use the highest setting on wheel neither ingame) but also a lot better. Hard to find how to explain this. Espacially countersteer is a lot more realistic than on the G25.
The wheel is bigger in diameter which adds to the realistic sensation
The tuning menu is not just a great addition but is needed to play the game in your likening

Here are the games i played so far
PC:
GTR 1 + 2 : great
GTR Evolution : great (there is not much to say as it just great)
TDU : great, i love it
NFS: Shift with the realistic mod : this is simply amazing to have a NFS that actually handles that great (the mod aims at GTR settings). The wheel adds a lot. Drifting definitly got challenging with the mod + PWTS
Rfactor : only did one lap as i never got this game configured spot on :(
M3 Challange : as GTR
Dirt 2 : wow to the inital FFB but downed it a bit. Amazing the game. Already liked the g25 with it but now wow.

Xbox:
Forza 3 : love to finally have a wheel for that game, just a bit sad the linarity is not spot on. Put finally a wheel for it so 👍
V8 Racing : As the game is a bit weak i can't really comment but a great wheel with it makes it enjoyable.

(need still to try out the PGR serie and get me Race)

PS3 :
Gt5P :

That is spot-on description.
It's just insane how great improvement the wheel is to this game. As all the others said i shaved of 2 sec on my lap times with the wheel (mainly due to the break pedal, but the wheel adds also so much)
Drifting is a dream with it and i don't even needed to go into the drift mode. it's very hard to pinpoint what makes it greater to the g25 but i would go with the bigger wheel, more stiffness in turning and the more realistic countersteer

SCC : Thanks to the tuning menu i can finally enjoy this game. With the G25 the FFB was way too strong for my taste. (plus not changing gears when i want and the missing clutch in a game which centers on weight transfer made me not liking this game). But now with the FFB to my taste the game is so great i can finally enjoy it even without the clutch. The PWTS turned a game which i didn't touched in months into a game i now enjoy.

Now with me so impressed after GT5P, i really can't wait for GT5.
I didn't had the problem on straits in GT, i suspect the lower FFB ( set ingame to 7 and on the wheel to 90, so not maxed out. )

I will update my wheel when motivated or needed and that's not the case at the moment.

-------------------------------------------------

A question for the others:
Does the linearity option on the wheel makes the linearity in Forza better??

Can Fanatec U.S. ship to Australia ?

I just order the Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel- UE last week with the Clubsport Pedals and Shift Paddles....on my invoice I also see PTSW-Pure Edition included with no extra charge.....Can someone tell me me what is the Pure Edition.

Has anyone hard mounted this to the Wheel Stand Pro...I am more worry about the Pedals... are there pre-drill holes on the Pedals.......Thinking its best to use a Alum Plate

Pure edition is just the wheel itself

Thanks. I hope I will soon have some more time to review CSPs and the H shifter. Oh and I should also review the stand...damn...I gotta find more time somehow :D

My video review of GT3 RS. My narrating is really, really bad, but I hope good image quality makes up for it. Please comment :)

Great job sonac.
If by image quality you ment it's resolution and how clear the video was, well than that was great, but if by image quality you ment your skill at choosing interesting but not distracting camera angles and the ability to frame and light a shot, well all of that was superb. That my friend, does not come from an expensive camera but from a persons with talent, great job.
I also liked your narration.
