I think we have the new head role for the new Conan movie. Right hair cut and all :).
Wonder what the surprise for the Turbo S would be. Handbrake?

Hoping Fanatec have convinced turn 10 that they should as an option allow us to remove the arm animations and the steering wheel for the Forza 3 cockpits. Gets a bit cake on a cake :).

Otherwise I am now feeling right at home with the pedals. Got the throttle working again. It´s as mentioned very finicky about position. Thankfully you get this hole in the middle where you attach the bolt to go by. The feeling of control they give me really brings confidence. I be damned if I don´t get better brake feel with these then my CST pedals. The long throttle gives you great precision as well. Always been a sucker for realism and that round has to go to my old CST pedals but the feeling of having more control is quite addicting as well as you get less pissed off when you ruin the balance buy locking the brakes less often.

I never did expect them to compete with my CST pedals but if you just talk precision which is amazing on the CST pedals these have it and maybe even more on the brake. Also must reiterate how great it is to have the pot to adjust the max pressure on the load cell if you are switching between arcade and simulation racing titles.

I could easilly use any of these pedals for the rest of my life and don´t yern for anything better. Big chance they would last that long too perhaps just exchanging some pots as they wear out :)

Works fine for me, it's a .rar file, meaning that you'll have to save it and un-RAR it using an unzipping tool such as WinRAR before you can view the file. ;)

Hey Fanatec, so since you have collaboration with FORZA 3 or something like that, would that hurt the GT series or PS3? I just wonder..

Also you guys think there will be a Fanatec wheel specifically made for GT game? Like the clubsport pedals working 100% with ABS features, wheel Vibration working with in game REV ENGINE, etc etc. That be cool to see

Thomas (Owner of Fanatec) is interviewed about the Turbo S wheel. (about two 3rds of the way through)

(I can finally prove to my roommate that I have been pronouncing "Fanatec" correctly all along)

;)

yeah cool interview!

My review.
RS Clubsport and shifters.. well they are just awesome! No problems with it. Feedback is so good, GT5P feels more real and more natural over G25, pedals .. well god like (only need is better lube ) on PC sims.. there is no other wheel, peddals and shifters for 350 US Dollars that can beat this wheel. Best buy ever.

Another question to FANATEC, or anyone else who knows

Lets say RS wheel wont work with GT5 FULL game,
Since I have ClubSport Pedals, and Shifters, What wheel and package should I buy just to play PS3 games also 360 games, but PS3 is bigger concern. So Is that TURBO S PURE Edition for PS3 also? It says 360 wheel.. and also is the PURE edition wheel have PS3 buttons light up? I just see Xbox buttons.

Turbo S Pure Edition will work for PS3/PC "If" you buy the PC/PS3 Dongle (Not included with "Pure Edition" package). No other wheel will work for all 3 systems.

The pure edition is the exact same Turbo S wheel that is all 3 of the packages. It just doesn't come with the PS3/PC usb dongle or the pedals & shifters. I am pretty sure I have seen it mentioned that all of thsoe will be available for purchase separately though.

As for its functionality...

Fanatec has posted that the Turbo S wheel is their console wheel, and it will receive the full support for functionality on PS3 and 360.

Curently all wheels work with GT5:P. But for playing GT5 and if you want to be 100% sure that all future PS3 games will work go for the new Turbo S. Trust me.

how many turbo s wheels have they shipped currently? Im still waiting for forza 3 or GT5 to release before i buy new wheel.(yes i sold my g25 already)

hmm but according the E3 video it seems like maybe some lucky bastards will get pre production wheels earlier and thus we could expect to get some first hand impressions over here soon :). But that is probably very low numbers I would assume.

Thomas claimed I would be a tester. Hopefully I get an email soon saying it's on it's way.

Thanks guys for the anwser. So I just have to buy PURE Edition and the Dongle USB thingy.

How about the Buttons? On the pictures, I see Xbox buttons, I somewhere hear they change from Xbox to PlayStation buttons once you swich consoles. Is it true?

Do the G25 pedals connect directly to the 911 turbo s wheel for full campatible use for XBOX 360 PC and PS3.
Im looking for a one for all solution for my fully built cockpit, and with forza3 and gt5 on the horizon would love to install the xbox into it again.
I had the microsoft wheel and a triple screen set up for forza 2, but the microsoft wheel was so disapointing, fragile and lacking that i dismantled the 3 x 32" screen cockpit and removed the xbox's, sold the screens and bought a nice memory foam sparco seat, g25 and a 46" samsung for GT5p instead as well as upgrading the PC.
Im quite happy with my G25 pedals but budget constraints in this economic climate are pushing me toward the pure edition if the G25 pedals are plug in and go.

Yes, the buttons on the Turbo S change between Xbox and PS3 automatically when you change systems.

According to Fanatec, yes, the G25 pedals will plug in to the Turbo S. Although, you may need an adapter cable.

;)

Thanks Delphic, just been looking through the Fanatec site and it does indeed indicate that the Pure Edition is supplied with an adaptor cable for the G25 pedals and the microsoft pedals.
Think i will be ordering one ASAP, along with the shifter pack and dongle, as with the limited run in the final stages and likely any new XBOX wheel they develop is likely to be at the cheaper end of the spectrum and likely not PS3 and PC compatible (any one got any info care to PM me ;)....), and its just not practical with my cockpit to be swapping wheels and pedals out!

P.S any one no what the one gig memory stick is for? the Pure is missing that also.

Nice freebie usb memory with porsche tag ;). It´s just an ordinary usb memory... But with the Porsche tag... And bevo lucky bastard when was you told that :)

👍....thanks, think i can make do without the stick!

I think this might have been mentioned before but did anyone notice the significant lag time between the wheel moving on screen and what the actual Fanatec wheel was doing in that video? I assume the delay is due to the game and not a fault of the wheel. Also, a bit off topic, WTH is up with the dbox seat/pedals lay out. Looks about right for a school bus not a race car. Besides that it does look like a lot of fun...

Noticed the bit awkward leg position as well. As for wheel support and console games I have yet to run a game on console that has perfect 100 % linear steering wheel input and with no deadzone. But also there is sometimes issues with the monitor refreshrate and the video cameras etc which make thing look worse then they are. Forza 2 was quite okay with a wheel but far from perfect. GT 5 Prologue perhaps a bit more natural. Again maybe just because me running a better wheel. But still not spot on so guess we will see. The Le Mans competition they had recently was won buy a guy using a wheel (dont know which one) so seems to be competitive :)

As for input lag on the wheel if we say the wireless connection is the same as on the old 911 turbo. May very well be improved so this may be a worst case scenario. I checked it for lag being conspicious and thought it perhaps had slightly more than the G25. So little most likely just the extra resistance on it causing the slight delay. Would be interesting to try it out against the RS with drift mode set to 5. It was a non issue I have much worse input lag on my LCD TV which do affect my driving...

One thing I wonder since some people use Forza 2 for drifting will the "drift mode" be available on consoles as well and how? I would like that feature anyway to play with. Via the OSD or with settings inside forza 3 for example? Possible to put damping settings also on the OSD. Could be useful when jumping between sims just using different presets instead of changing things in the control panel.

Yeah I think its' Forza 3 fault not the wheel.

For me, When I play with G25 and GT5P, there is little lag
When I swich to RS wheel, seems almost NO lag..
Or maybe last update of GT5P fixed it? I dont know But With GT5P, rFactor, GTR EVO, no lag on steering with RS wheel.

At first I wanna play FM3 with Porsche wheel, but I might wait for FULL Gt5 game then get that turbo s wheel. But who knows, maybe Fanatec might have new wheel few months later after GT5 release, I will wait.

If RS won't work with GT5 full game, I'll use my G25 untill Fanatec gets nice new wheel.

How many in here have the curb ffb effects sticking bug? (simbin, rFactor some isi engine thing). Hit a curb to activate the curb vibrations cancel it out by hitting the next curb.

Temporary solution: disable curb effects issue gone.

What exactly is "drift mode". What effect does it have on steering? What is it actually doing?

;)

It looks like I got the email may 4th. I still haven't heard anything else about it yet.

Bleh... I really want to order the wheel but I've got some pretty significant tax payments / bills going out this month and I can't spare the cash. Knowing my luck, as soon as I get the cash together they'll have gone out of stock forever! :(
