Any stores planning a midnight launch?

Well I just found out I've got a flight at 9am - by that I mean, I'm flying it - Doing my pilots license down here which is, as you might imagine, ****ing cool - That said, I have to be at the school at 9... I plan on going to bed around 4/5am.

Fortunately I'm flying with two other guys. They can take the first leg, I'll sleep. I *am* gaming tonight, and nothing, not even the Zombie Apocalypse, is going to stop me.

SO...looks like I'll be gettting my copy at Wally World tonight at midnight, then picking up my C.E. tomorrow at Gamestop, taking all the extra stuff out to my car...including the code on the receipt for the bonus cars...then walking back inside and returning just the still-unopened game. That is, unless the C.E. disc is different from the normal edition disc. Guess I should do some searching of these here forums to find out, huh? lmao...obviously, my plan is not etched in stone as of yet, heh.

Pretty sure the collectors edition game case says Collectors Edition on the spine. Look for the leaked boxes, they were CE boxes.

Ahhh...thanks for the info. Well, shazbot! Guess I'll have to pawn off my Wally World copy on one of my not-as-anxious-as-I-am-to-obtain friends then. Yeah, that should work. Either that, or I'll just have two copies, lmfao! I have two wheel stands (one currently in the works), so what the heck!

Sigh...no midnight launch, but it's all good. Checked with my local EB that I made my pre-order for CE, and they said they only got 20 CE's in the store ready for tomorrow. Then they said "You're #11." Now I know how it feels to win the lottery!!! :sly:

So I asked how many people pre-ordered for CE, and the guy told me 27. So there's going to be 7 sad gamers who's going to walk away disappointed tomorrow until the next shipment comes. :guilty:
 
Yeah, it seems with the delay a lot of ppl backed out of GT5. Be sure to be there first thing in the morning so you can get your copy.
 
i called a little bit ago to see about mine and they said they aren't doing a midnight launch but are getting a buttload of last minute preorders. i'm thinking of checking out the 24/7 meijer, or walmart to see if i can get it though
 
Quick question unrelated as I cant post new topics yet. I have two accounts on my PS3 - One UK, One US - I'm in the US at the moment, but I'm going back to the UK in 2 months.

Can anyone foresee DLC issues if I use the wrong account, much like Red Dead Redemption had where it wouldn't detect the DLC?

Under 5 hours, they should just give it us now...

Just came back from game station midnight launch. I won an upgrade from standard edition to collectors in a raffle....thanks game station!

they couldn't sell it till 00-01 :grumpy: But my receipt says 00-01 an 47 seconds :lol::lol::lol:

Thanks! Check the "Cheap Cockpit Alternatives" thread, there's LOTS of good info there. I've got a number of pics in there, somewhere around Sept. of '09. The black one is my 1 1/2" PVC stand. Figured I'd upgrade to 2" PVC for GT5, so I'll be posting pics 'n stuff in that thread when I"m done with it.

Got mine from 24hr Asda in UK, along with pizza, beer, and 3 cans of Monster. I've decided not to install but wish I had because the load times without it are taking forever. Loving Monza and the track creator.

First impression are that so far it seems a little unpolished. Lots of pop up. I'm sure this will be addressed with patches, and better that than waiting another year.

*sniff* think the pizza is burning.
 
Does anyone know if walmart's will be getting the collectors edition? I have mine on preorder from newegg. But when i check newegg it shows on hold still. So i'm thinking about rolling to walmart and hoping to get lucky with a ce.

Drive home (10mis max) install then while its installing make a killer breakfast to commemorate this occasion!!!!!!!

Same. I will wake up, trudge over there, come home and start installing. While that's happening I will make coffee, breakfast, find a home for the model car, take a picture of the box for posting purposes, and flip through the Apex book.
