i dont believe there are tutorials here but there is only one thing you can do to learn...practice and learn from your mistakes

you can also change the accelerator to the R2 button as it gives more room to adjust your throttle control.

Read through this drifting subforum as there have been a few tips. Basically just start slow, lower HP car will be easier to handle. Don't mix your tires, and N2 are the norm for drifting.

I understand theres a 'drift bible' but I cant seem to find the link for the download. anyone happen to have a link or download for it?

Thanks

I agree that switrching accelerator/brake controls to the L2/R2 buttons for more accurate input but unfortunately and i hate to say it i think the days of anolog stick drifting died along with GT3 ASPEC. Im sure it can be done to a certain degree but i think the G25 etc is the way forward...or sideways in this instance.

the trick is not to go into the corner to hard. eg if your in the blitz skyline cruise up to the corber just off boost turn before the corner hit the throttle and drift away.:sly:

I drift with the SIXAXIS no problem, but then again i have no choice but to learn on the controller because I can't afford the race wheel that I want, it costs upwards of $600. :(

Why not settle with a G25? Its a pretty decent wheel.

I use the controller, the old school X accel, SQ brake, O handbrake, and i drift fine, in fact i do well. Then again i was even good in GT4 and that was hard, this is easy compared. I would start off by learning the basics behind the physics and forces involved, also a deeper level of what each pedal/gearshift/movement etc does. That will help you drift.

Make sure your on pro physics too! With no aids except maybe 1TC to learn. Or just whatever suits you.

I only just got this game, personally i use the analog sticks..
At first i was terrible drfiter but ive improved alot 2day using the Viper SRT10..
Its all about practice and finding a balance of steering and power

i can... :sly:

i got to play for about an hour at my cousin's house (still waiting for my copy in the mail), and on Suzuka East, I OWN the current record with the FD under my cousin's SN "jeffyesiam" 👍

downside of using the controller instead of the wheel is the SMOOTHNESS. watching the replays are pretty funny to me, as it looks like the front tires are all :nervous: wobbley!!

i can't wait til' i get the wheel and feel the true "realness" of the game though!!

I found that the easiest car to drift with sixaxis of all the cars I've tried so far is the cheapest Ferrari, I think it's like 110k credits but yeah, all aids off, pro mode, manual, and I think S3 tires and the thing gets sideways very easy and its quite easy to control. 👍

Give it a shot!

That doesn't prove much though, he couls be using standard physics, mismatching tires, and have 1 TCS on to balance the car, i'd say at least hes doing the 3rd, but if hes not going any congrats to him, cause the snapback on that car is downright insane. And ive tried the F430 I can run it fine but thanks.

That's my own vid, I used Professional phyics, N1s front and rear and no TCS.
It did take a little practice to get used to the car and finishing a drift smoothly, if at all occationally, is difficult, but the difficulty brings fun :)

I enjoy the F430 too:cheers:

Bravo to you then, and i beg you to share your tune cause like i said, the snap back is insane.
I have plenty of drift exprence but this car is just nuts.

I did reply to you message, there was an error as I sent it though. But it was in my sentbox so I assumed it had gone out..?..I'll copy and paste it here anyway so others can see and maybe gain a little help from it too.

''I'm not sure what advice I can give, I didn't really change the cars base settings radically, just increased front camber to 6* and rear to 4* and ran maximum steering angle.
N1 tyres front and rear as a mentioned in my reply on the GTP site, it took a while to get a feel for the N1's as rather than breaking traction to drift you always feel like you sliding around, but eventually it gets easier.
I use the analogue sticks for steering and gas/brake, they're not *that* accurate but presonally I think the feel is better than the buttons or L2/R2.
I think the best advice i can give is to practice and not to get put off by putting your car backwards into the gravel time after time, I certainly did when I first tried to drift the ER34, it'll get easier over time and you should learn from the mistakes :)''

I really want to learn how. Are there any tutorials? I couldn't find any on youtube.
My best advice would be to start out with a car that is VERY powerful. Before you scold, hear me out.

Starting with a car like the Z06 will give you an instant and unavoidable, intro to tail-out driving. Its easy to keep loose and pretty communicative in terms of what its doing.

Also, no big inputs to gas, brake, or steering. Be gentle with it and you'll get a feel for what you need more or less of.

Oh and FWIW, I don't even use the analog stick, I drift with the D-pad ;)

I just got 1st on High Speed Ring with the Ford GT LM Spec II on N1/N1 with Pro physics... using a DS3 :)

PSN is GTP_SaNTee on the leaderboards.
