And this proves my point.
Your math is very wrong.
If you lap at 1.20 (which is possible with the stock car) you'll end up NO MATTER WHAT winning by a SMALL (less than 1 second) margin.
If you lap faster than 1.19.5xx in the stock car you are a VERY good driver and you'll win by 2-3 seconds.
If you say it was easy and you were leading the race before lap 5 (not to mention lap 3...) it means you're just lying, and this makes the whole "it's too easy" argument invalid.

There's no need to post a video, it's clear enough that what you said is impossible.

I'm not trolling, I was seriously leading by the end of lap 3, I overtook very easily flatout at the last corner.
It's the first event, and I found it easy.
I also offer any tips to anyone who may struggle.
 
Just to answer the thread question: yes...
And I am not the best driver (a bit above average i would say) and use pad...
funny thing is: one of my buddies who is usually a slight bit better than me and drives with wheel drove the fiat 500 challenge and failed so far... whyle i did it in the 2nd try...

and to those who struggle witth the skyline event: keep on trying! keep a smooth line...better brake a moment to early than to late...
I managed it two days ago with the "concept" skyline..

I leave everything as default.
I drive without TCS sometimes.
I've read on here about turning ABS off.
People have said that when ABS is off, the brakes are unrealistic and that when you touch the brake pedal the car locks up too easily.
So as a result they said ABS 1 in GT5 = ABS 0 in real life.

Driving aids:
- G27 with clutch
- everything off,
- ABS = 1 (except Challenger and RX-7 which don't have ABS in reality)
- steering set to simulation
- ffb 10

Brake lockup can be fixed by lowering brake strenght and balance. 5:5 is bad, start at 3:1.

Btw, I don't really struggle but it is not an easy walk in the park either. Example: think the Fiat took me 7 tries to eliminate mistakes, the speed was OK from the outset. Challenger only 2, where the second attempt was with adjust the top speed 210 >>> 250. Busy with the last one now, (NO....actually having lunch at work), but so far every race has been decided in the last lap. So for me I consider that a healthy challenge.

Also, I don't see any tips from you in the thread.
"I use a default car with default setup and find it so easy that I overcome math and physics" is hardly helpful to us mortals...

I'm not the best driver here, so my advice was that I very easily won the events with default aids, default setup and a car that had all tuning parts installed.
Just give yourself the best possible car and you should win easily.
On many of the events I took the lead in the first sector of lap 4.
I probably took first in the first sector of lap 4 too in the Fiat 500 race.
I took first in the GTR race in the last sector.
If you want, I will list the parts installed if that helps.
I also used the GTR '09 for the GTR race.
 
Any tips on the challenger race would be helpful? or is it just a case of increasing the gear ratios?
 
i'm struggling with the fiat out of all of them, the rest was easyish. Can't get any closer than 5 seconds to first.

Don't forget to add the all important aero parts, it'll let you take the last corner flat out.

EDIT TO CLARIFY: It means you have to run the full 5th and last lap in FIRST position.
It should be cake for you.

There was more to my post than just that quote.
I will post a video showing my race later on.
 
I have to say I didn't find them all that hard, the Rx-7 one was particularly easy. Then again I tuned my cars as much as I could within the regulations, I probably would have had a much more fun and challenging races had I left them stock.
 
I actually found the Deep Forest/RX-7 challenge the most difficult, as in it took me some time to find the right racing line. This was the only challenge I was prone to spinning the car out through a turn if I wasn't careful accelerating out of a corner.

The Fiat challenge I would rate as moderately difficult. The rest were quite easy.

I am now uploading a video to Youtube.
I took first at the very beginning of lap 5.
I was 0.138 behind after lap 4.
I will post a link here.
 
The video also shows me taking the last corner flat out.
I tried to see my split times near the end of the video, but I couldn't.
I won by over 6 seconds.

keep your speed in the turns, you can faster through the turns than you think. also play with the gearing, i dropped the top speed to 87.
 
I wouldnt say "EASY".

I only did the RX7 FC event. It requires solid driving and course knowledge to gold. It was an enjoyable but not frustratingly difficult challenge and to me that is good game design.

Its like the "Hard" Difficulty but not the "Ultra Hard" Difficulty, which is good.
 
Only thing that was difficult was in the skyline challenge to deal with the horrible understeer that the R34 has. I really like the idea of using hp and weight limits for the competitions but the comps are still too easy imho.

Sorry, didn't see your post.
Yeah, I just increased the gear ratio, it kept redlining at 113 on straights.

Why didn't you use a GTR?

I had an R34 that was tuned to near max so I just used what I already had. Doing so I also saved few hundred thousand credits. That's already 2 races less to grind around indy...

Plus I liked the challenge :sly:

I would have liked to use my academy version of the GTR but for some reason that car is not allowed in that race...

i didn't make the pass for the lead till the last turn last lap, I was -5 sec when I crossed the line to start lap 5. Good luck!
 
I found them easy, I made little modifications to each car, including accessories like wings etc..
The only one which I had to repeat more times is the first race with the Fiat 500.

Yes. After couple of tries... Had to tweak the setup a bit. Or I tried just to make the car to steer better. 90/10 center diff and all the tweaks I know that make car more oversteery. Didn't really improve much so I just focused on improving my driving. Have to admit though, I did some wall riding in the first turn. Just to punish the car though :D. I think I didn't really gain much with that though...

The car I used was Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nür (R34) 02. 485bhp and 1264kg.

(The car was tuned to max, I just took some stuff off to meet the requirements)

hmm, do you get any rewards from the drift events?
 
No not at all easy. I managed to silver 4 and gold 1 event just by turning on skid recovery.

I recall someone said in another thread that it says a lot about the ai in this game when the hardest challenges are just maneuvering around 11 cars and coming in 1st by the end of x number of laps. These are supposed to be events, not license tests.

They could be a bit more imaginative with these things.
 
it said i have to register at gt's website to do the seasonal events, is this right?
