Me and wifey were playing it quite a bit on PS3 (two consoles, two copies of game), and i still have a few races to go.

I don't really do online multiplayer races though, not sure why.

Yeah. Just got Casino; THOSE SLOT MACHINES ARE RIGGED!

Haha I know the feel man. I havent played TDU2 in a while and I did get the Audi R8 Spyder and the other car. How I did it is just got a 100000 pounds worth of coins for casino. Sat at a slot and kept pushing X and turned the channel over to tv so I could watch that untill I win. Plus when you do win you auto leave the slot you was on so you wont waste anymore tokens than you need, took about 45mins to a hour for me. Hope you win the Spyder mate!

Bad luck man. If you think that's bad, you might wanna check the poker tables. I really love poker, but i have to deal with that one guy who doesn't know how to play. :grumpy:

Tell me about it. It is the worst when you get somw kid not knowing what to do. Well we was all like that at some point I guess :)

I'm That One Guy im afraid :(

I'm willing to learn, so might download a poker game to my phone at some point instead of learning on TDU2

I hated card games growing up and avoided them as much as I could. But I am dead serious when I say this but I did not know how to play poker at all UNTIL TDU2. I went into the slot machine room and found the poker machine. I wrote down on a piece of paper the different hands. Example 1 pair, 2 pair, 3 of a kind, straight........ Then after that I went into the sit and go along with cash game poker rooms with friends and they helped me a lot. Then we eventually went into the in game tournaments. I have now won over 20 level 4 tournaments. Each was worth 2 million. Plus you win a car. I am still not great by any means but TDU2 poker is a great way to learn. As long as you don't go all in all the time you wont make any enemies. I cant stand the people that do that all the time.

I'm still playing. I just got it for the PS3 a few days ago after playing it on the Xbox 360 for a while, so I'm trying to finish the game right now.

I still need to play through some more of the campaign one of these days. I just get very little gaming in during the summer. SOOOO BUSY.

I do rally's and road runs with my friend now. It's an enjoyable little club, we take our races as seriously as a true PetrolHead takes Jeremy Clarkson's reviews on TopGear. Even if we are racing Veyrons, we use Atoms and sometimes bikes. It's a fun run racing club. With 2 members.

I threw the disc in and went Online for the first time about a week or so ago - I haven't played anything else since!

I dove in right away, was invited to join a Club, picked up a whole whack of friends, dressed up 'toit' for the Casino - and had a blast meeting people (tons of gal drivers, too), did lots of Free Rides, attempted to jump into Dillingham Airfield with several people (and failed :D ) was invited into some Homes, drag-raced like crazy (some guys in Zondas chased me for miles in my hopped-up Delta before they caught me - 'Driving is'nt racing, chums - just get there quick in one piece'), was challenged several times by everybody from noobs to Aces, and saw some great driving from others, too.

Addictive. For the moment. I'll be on again most nights; the server was down last few nights - too heavy a load, or some other techno-crash.

Haven't met a single GTP pal, yet, though. :(

I gotta throw play this game this weekend. Really miss playing it. Its just overwhelming how much there is to do especially between 2 full islands and a Casino. I haven't even unlocked all the roads yet.

Fun fact: I got this game the day Carlisle united went to Wembley and lost, good memories.

First car was the Lancia- always liked it.

First thing I did was hit a guy in his Zonda at full speed and then drive up the gravel trap to get away from him as he wanted revenge. For something he did!

These days, I mostly play TDU2 mostly to enjoy riding my Ducati Desmosedici RR. I also just play just out of love of racing games. Another reason I still play TDU2 is to develop thoughts on how possibly to improve the series if another Test Drive Unlimited is ever released. So while not often, I do still play TDU2. Oh, and also I play to stay the hell away from the Solar Crown events. That's why I'm glad to complete those final races.

The fake and annoying shifting noises and sound effects are enough to keep me away from that game even though I still get on TDU2 every once in a while.

What's not to love about this beauty? What an incredibly responsive and stable machine, and holy freaking crapola, does she move. I love riding this bike around. It does attract a lot of attention. Sometimes I just take it out to one of the tracks and keep circling it trying to get the fastest lap time possible - and riding endlessly through a fierce lightning-storm, esp through the TDU2 night-cycle is truly a blast.

Gawd, do I hate those Solar Crown events.
There are players out there who 'pooh, pooh!' TDU2 physics as unreal, 'crap', etc, etc. This doesn't make sense to me.
TDU2 cars have no attrition to talk of.
A real car begins to decay the moment you take off. After a hundred miles it's not the same car. Your brakes are hot, fading, suddenly not what they were when you started off. Everything about the car is fading . . . this happens in real life. The car is not the same after miles and miles of driving.
It doesn't handle the same.
Even if one were to make the perfect drive-reality simulator, there are so many factors - from the heat in the car, to the wind buffeting your vehicle on a cliff-side road, to a seagull pooping on your windshield at the wrong, wrong, wrong time . . . that to start comparing TDU2 driving physics with reality (never mind the impression I'm getting that no two people ever see the same reality - let alone feel it) is redundant.
TDU2 drive-physics are TDU2 drive physics.
If you can master it, you've mastered it - if you can't, you haven't. It's a level playing field.
Those who say they don't like the game because the physics are 'false' make me chuckle.
With that in mind - I have to say the bloody Solar Crown Events are killer and designed to drive you mad until one has aced them.
The licences are tough, and many of the Championship Events are also tough. The Special Missions - especially the new DLC missions were made for 🤬 TDU2 gurus. I keep trying them endlessly till I figure out that seemingly one-and-only driveline that gets me across the line with milliseconds to spare.

There is a huge first person player-game hidden in this - the entire game merely suffers from a dated drive-engine, retro-graphics (more so for the sceneray than the cars themselves), and while the cars already in the game are the total bombshells we want, it becomes quickly apparent when one has grasped how to get the best of the handling, that more, more, more of these machines are needed - machines that straddle the line between reality and fantasy so well, that we forget we are playing a game, and have actually escaped into some kind of paradise for real.

I can totally understand how you return to the game now and then - it's very addictive. But very time-consuming. You know as soon as you dive into the game that the whole thing comes back to you again - your houses, your cars, the places you check out most often . . . it all comes back to grab you.

And then there's the Casino.

As has been mentioned by other TDU2 players - that is a game by itself. :)

I have read (and enjoyed) almost all your posts on TDU - since I have checked this part of the Forum since I was first on here - and actually learned a lot from reading you - even as I progressed through the game.

Good to hear that you still keep in touch - and I do hope I'll bump into you online (not literally :D ) when I go on again.

Unfortunately, I have had not the time at all in the last 4 - 5 weeks to boot up the game - though I had a spell in July where I was on everyday for 4- 6 hours, and had quite the blast.

Just like you, I'm hoping there's a future for this game - and that the concept is developed to it's maximum potential if not as TDU3 - then another game with another name - but that delivers the driver-lifestyle we want, and the lush environments we want to enjoy.

Reading you mention the RR - now I want to take the Diavel out.. . .

Still playing it from time to time, it's a good complement to GT5 👍

There shouldn't happen to be a dedicated GTP club somewhere? If not, would we want one? (PS3 version)

I'd be interested in joining. I just bought the game a few days ago and I've been enjoying it so far 👍

I've started re-playing TDU2, mostly because I bought the TDU2 Casino thing. Most of what I've played was slot machines and a one game of Roulette. I even did that two-lap time trial around the casino island in the Audi R8 convertible. Pretty cool.

Initially, I was thinking this would be a good way to grind a bit in the game. Not that I actually condone grinding, but it's tough to get money in this game unless you do the Solar Crown races and stuff. There are still a few objectives I can still realistically accomplish in this game. It's just tough to do so with only so much money.

I had put it away for quite some time, having got caught up in compulsively trying to level up in NFS and GT5, but when the new packs came out I felt bugged to go investigate - as well, I had read about the DLC in these Forums. After I actually got to downloading the new stuff (pretty much all of it) I began playing again, and in fact, for the first time went Online - my PS3 finally, after a long spell, plugged into a wall instead of stuttering intermittently over WiFi.
I was quite surprised to find the Site busy, TBH, I expected to find it deserted. It is a huge smorgasbord of cultures, judging by the linguistical static off the earphones, and some nice people around, too - and by 'nice' I don't mean milksops, but decent, intelligent, cultured people with manners social enough to get the best out of the Game.
I, boldly, plunged right in without a thought, and while I was clearly visible as present, Online, stayed off the beaten tracks, and moseyed around for a bit, accepted some challenges, 'ghost-parked' in front of my Homes or at the Airport till I became a little more well-known to some of the 'personalities' in the area. I have noticed that some players only stay in their own territories - at least whenever I was around; I did continue to play a lot after that, but had to give up due to pressure from extended workloads.

When I did enter the Casino for the first time I was blown away - while the whole experience is still a little 'videogamish' - the idea of filling the loading time with a Flight sequence, and instilling the whole 'vacation/Casino/get-away and kick-back' mood in the player, and all the other voice/music/visual and POV cues are good enough to generate 'gambling' excitement - you are right away in a 'Win or Lose' sceanario.

I was a total noob standing there taking everything in, and the occasional player walked up to me and checked me over; some emoted, some just stared. Having cased the joint, I picked up some chips, went over to the Bar, downed a few cocktails to try and level up, and then ducked into the clothing store. Some good stuff in there - and I believe the Trophy clothes are in there, too. Next, I took the stairs, walked the length of the hallways checking out the signs over the various rooms. I went up to the Bouncers in front of the VIP rooms and stared them in the face. Luckily, they ignored me. I didn't try to get past them - I am no where near the levels needed - which pees me off since I got invited a lot to the higher level rooms afterwards, and had to refuse ignominiously. I went off to the Slots and played every different Machine, till I settled on using the ones I liked - but now I only play the Slots for the R8.
I ventured into the Roulette and also the Cash Poker Rooms, and did hang out a bunch there. Being the nosey guy I am, when I first walk into a room I walk around and check everything out - every plant, light and view-from-window. I get the odd stand-and-stare from a player now and then, but otherwise everybody I have met in the rooms have been really cool. It's here that I have been invited several times into other player's Homes, and also to play in other rooms.

Most players dress for the occasion but the odd character comes in in leathers and a helmet - as if needing a sudden gambling fix at a high-class casino in the middle of an adventure tour.
In a strange way, this game also grooms the behaviour of people IRL.
Or is it the other way around? :dopey:

Money, is the thing. It's hard to make money in this game. By the rules, anyway. However, I must assume that some have used the odd glitch to rake up the millions to come and high-roll it in the Casino.

But, here's the irony, John: I have noticed it's the ones desperately making the small bets and winning that are the one's enjoying it the most; adrenaline-pumped and high-as-kites. The one's throwing hundreds of thousands on bets just shrug it off when they lose, and are mostly non-committal when they win.

I even did that two-lap time trial around the casino island in the Audi R8 convertible. Pretty cool.

Call it ego - I want to see my name up on that Board. :sly:
I gave it one shot - low 3.00s. The next time I went in, I took the car around twice; mid 2.00s. I need to clip off 20 secs on each lap. I can do it. I will. I must. :dopey:
I am playing to set aside a couple of hours just for that mission.

Money is as hard to get legally as it is IRL. I'm buying, selling, challenging/rechallinging, event-racing, and even gambling - any way to make money. Urgh!

Well, anyway, I own several houses, and a fleet of fancy vehicles. That's a little better than I have IRL.

Hey! Isn't that what a game is all about? That you can get together with others and play 'Pretend'?

BTW - if you do decide to form a Club, and head it up as the President, you can be sure I'll join up with you, and maybe we can also persuade others here to join up with us, too; scheduling Club Times will ensure we actually meet as a group and go take over those Islands. ;)

I bought TDU2 on PS3 today and will receive it this week. 👍

I remember me talking regularly with the physics developper of TDU 1 (among others) on internet, he was really a PC sim-racing fan. I could participate to the beta of TDU1 but I had no xbox at this time, so TDU2 is going to be my first open world racing car game.

Too bad that Eden Studios of Lyon had problems with Atari, this company and its new boss has destroyed a really good (but little) team of developpers who made solid things with few money.

I ordered it 2 Saturday and waiting for it to arrive. I'm hoping the PS3 version is driveable as the PC version is unusable. Guess I'll find out soon. heh.

Playing the TDU life slots is a great way to make a few hundred thousand quickly, but Poker is where I made most of my money, 385 million dollars or something like that. If you win, it's 2 million dollars (1 million in chips) plus the prize car. 2nd place is 1.2 million and 3rd place is $800,000.
