Nerd is a term often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who passionately pursues intellectual activities, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests that are age inappropriate rather than engaging in more social or popular activities. Therefore, a nerd is often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers, or will tend to associate with like-minded people.

No, if you belong to GTPlanet and play Gran Turismo you are clearly showing your interest to
engage in social or popular activities.
About being stuck ups, I think that, to a newcomer, some rules may give that impression (first post has to be approved; decent grammar expected) and I guess it also happens a lot that new members are eager to show themselves (and their interest) so there's a big probability that they open a new thread only to find it closed soon after because what they ask has been answered already, or what they tell has already been told.
These rules and this
"only useful threads please" policies have very valid reasons to exist, most of all because these are international forums with thousands of members, most of them not even posting but coming here often to get valuable information on their favourite games. That means the need for keeping them (the forums) free from
"irrelevant posting" and also the need to set an
"official language" (english) and to have it written in a way that any person with only a basic knowledge of that language can understand.
As an example, some posters said they took minutes to read the post written by Famine in what you guys call "textspeach". I gave up, didn't read it at all.
Anyway, I definitely don't think GTPlanet users are "stuck up", and all I see, when a newcomer posts for the first time, is a welcoming atittude from others.
This is what happens in the forums. What about how GTP tagged drivers behave towards others, while racing? Are they stuck up? Have they no respect towards non-tagged drivers? I don't think so, and I never saw such a thing. Besides, we have many recent members that have come to GTPlanet forums exactly because they noticed that GTP drivers, fast or slow, were clean and fair drivers. And this usually leads - after a few races - to a (PSN) PM exchange and brings them here. Many of us have this experience and this fact alone speaks for itself, about what is the GTP tagged drivers behaviour and friendliness online. Stuck ups? No.
