I miss the GT2 jappanese intro (BEST INTRO EVER!!! , made me emotional every time whit the old school vids in there)
And im not alone loving this intro , look at the youtube comments
(when you whon every race u got outro movie whit my favorite game remix (euro , usa intro :P ))

Couldnt read anything in the game but it was still fun :P

A while back in a "when you get GT5" -thread I listed watching GT5's intro for the first time to be a big moment for me when I get the game. Now I'm afraid that moment is pretty much ruined.
 
I couldn't give a flying f...... fig tree, I will only watch it once then spend the next years of my life skipping it, so who cares what band plays it?
 
Kasabien for GT4 (PAL) was the least good intro , bring back the GT3 garage rock . I bet the (NSTC) GT5 will have 'Moon over castle' updated

I agree, watching an intro movie to a game for the first time can be a bigger moment than some people percieve, and often plays a big part in the whole 'wow factor' of a game, so good song choice is essential!
 
Amazingly bad decision. It's like putting Enya, orinoco flow, as the title music to God of War.

I didn't know that Sony were aiming this game at pre-teen emo girls.

Feel like people are ruining the game, just let it come out before making preconcieved judgements, especially dissecting something as subtle but important as the intro. Let it happen first.

Honestly i can think of a few songs which would have been great for the game, but regardless of peoples preconceptions of the band its probably worth hearing before judging too harshly.

Good point, plus if Planetary (Go!) is anything like this song I found from the same album it should sound pretty good with cars rushing past in the intro. Its quite up-beat, this song is anyway.

 
I'm quite the opposite, I watch every game intro and I usually watch it every time I boot the game up, unless its stupidly long. Some dev's put tons of effort into them so its worth watching.

I think that the intro is vital to the game's title and overall appearance. Just look at Japan's intro for GT4 (Moon Over The Castle) it tells a lot. It would suck if every time I start up GT5 (Skipping the intro or not) I will have to know that a bunch of emo's are the ones singing. Even if the song is half decent, I will be angered at the choice of PD. Yes, Gran Turismo really is about the luxury and detail mentioned a few posts before.
 
press play GT5, start button start button start button start button start button start button start button start button. Options, Menu Music to 0% and thats that.
 
I couldn't really care less either, I mute the music because I don't equate race driving with listening to music...maybe if I was going for a Sunday afternoon drive, but thats not GT.

Sure its pointless to argue over a track that hasn't been released yet, but knowing the band and what they have done before is a damn good indication of how good or bad the new song will be.

I would have thought PD would have used a band signed to the Sony Music label for this, given the amount of hype and backing Sony has put into it.
 
Liking it or not, i guess at this point we shouldn't be giving them hints / ideas to delay the game again.

To be honest, i don't know why they always bother with intro songs, when Moon Over The Castle is simply a perfect tune.
