I think I've got myself a decent handling 240Z/Fairlady now just in time for the upcoming hype around the next gen Nissan Z car. I wanted a 1970 BRE Datsun 240Z so that's what I focused on. IRL it's left-hand drive but I couldn't find a LHD model. There are several mods using this same model so I don't really know the original author. All credit to him/her for the original model. I spent more time with this one on improving material and shader settings as well as including additional LODS. Though I find my ocd never really has me feeling I'm finished, I think it's at a point where it can be shared for others to enjoy as well. I couldn't find horsepower figures for this car so I just guestimated where I hope it's fast enough to enjoy but hopefully not OP.
I recommend using the slicks for the best road holding but the street and semi-slicks will let you hang out the rear end out more easily if your feeling drifty. Suggestions/feedback always welcome. https://www.mediafire.com/file/vl4no65j4tvu8pj/datsun_240z_bre.zip/file
Changes:
  • Modified handling physics
  • re-sized/re-proportioned front spoiler
  • removed external emblems
  • rear bumper delete
  • changed materials and textures on front and rear spoiler
  • improved exterior paint shaders
  • improved exterior light shaders
  • new wheels and tires
  • new race steering wheel
  • new rear exhaust pipes
  • adjusted FFB settings
  • 5 race liveries
  • re-tuned power output
  • adjusted brake torque and balance

Oh, you made my dream come true. Thank you soooo much. Now something has to be done with the data. The car does not drive realistically and has totally wrong curves and other stuff. Wanna do some of it myself and been searching online for the correct data, but can't find much useful stuff. But have found something and will try to do my best. Maybe somebody with more skills might do something as well.

yes it is, unfortunately the technical data are wrong. The power was between 420 hp in '90 and 462 in '92, the weight between 1220 kg and 1300 kg. However I appreciate the work, the Audi V8 DTM for AC finally exists :gtpflag:

Niiiiiiice, those skins look really good. Loving the number 46 especially

Yes, unfortunately, that doesn't quite fit with the Data and the Physics.
NeilB1971 and I are not specialists there.
Maybe there is someone here who knows the stuff.
However, we did our best to present a Racing Version of the Audi V8 as a DTM Version.
I'm super happy to finally have a kind of Audi V8 DTM in Assetto. I've been waiting for it for a long time.

The model and work looks good. If anyone has the data they want, I can help with a quick fix for the car if that helps. I'm finishing off a 370z GT4 tonight and then I can look at it.

Something a bit different from me for the GT4 Toyota GT86 from @Beezer215 & @MisterWaffles (and @GzeroD for the original mod) Which you can find here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...eral-discussion.307899/page-965#post-13059602 if you haven't already got it.
I did these a few weeks back and finally got round to putting proper GT4 number boards on so I thought I'd drop em here if anyone wants to add a bit of colour (and maybe wobbly vision) to their GT4 races.
Grab em here https://mega.nz/file/WbR2iaDa#pDL-RP21VtuAj3iHbsi1lhe8rSPMhUl61JMecgfB7uk

Unfortunately not - the car I

Unfortunately not - the car I'm looking for was on pole in the 2003 Daytona 24 and finished 4th with Scott Maxwell/David Brabham/David Empringham.
Thank you anyway for caring. The Ford Riley Daytona prototype from 2015 or so on the picture is but also a great looking car and I should be rather happy if you could send it to me...

There is a Riley Multimatic Gibson LMP2 version if you're interested.

Here's the reworked Audi V8 DTM if someone would like to test it and report.
preview.jpg
Reworked:
Steering response/ratio
Gear ratios adjusted closer with adjustable final
Differential adjusted for better rotation while keeping stability
Minor suspension adjustments for better rotation
Tyre pressures adjusted
AI reworked
RPM Limiter adjust to real spec
Car is BoP'd to the Kunos 90's Touring cars. Power is now around original spec and weight is around original spec although I slightly adjusted to BoP.

Let me know if it's too fast. The original was fairly dominant. Skins are large so it's a big file. Got rid of unneeded textures in texture folder. I like the feel of this car. Not surprisingly it feels a bit like the Skyline R32 Group A I redid.

**This will not overwrite the original car so you can try them side by side

Ok ok... im not the best skinner by a long shot, there are many very talented people out there doing some great stuff, but this is way below standard. Ive tried to contact the author to offer help with authentic Australian skins with no reply so far.. but this is a joke. Beta or not.

Really had high hopes for this mod, but stuff like this leaves me gutted.

Just that you know: the folder name accr_renault_megane_trophy_ii_evo is too long. CM can't handle that and does not record driven distance and top speed.

max length for track (folder-)name: 32
max length for additional layout name: 15
max length for car (folder-)name: 32
all lowercase, latin-digits-underscore, NO utf8- or fancy characters like é or something

Thank you very much, I wasn't aware! I'll fix this in next release.

• digital instruments font added to package

Yikes!! I haven't seen the templates for these, but it looks like it's not being mapped to the car correctly?

I reached out to them last week about making some skins for them to include with their pack. I have a bunch of 90% finished Bathurst replica skins that I made for the Kunos AE86 that would match the Celica. Haven't heard anything back....

Would be awsome if they took your kind offer. I know your skins from racedepartment and every single one of them is top notch. Still using those that you made for RUF Yellowbird and Nissan 370 :)

I've let him know that you are trying to get in contact with him. I know that he has limited skinning skills and that this beta only came out with that design so that it wasn't blank.

I didn't mean to be so harsh, but why bother even releasing something that is in such a beta mode? There are many people with huge talent that could help with these cars to become a great mod, not just another mediocre mod, unfinished and unpolished.
Not to mention the many tutorials on Poo Tube that can help as well.. like this one which may be beneficial as none of these cars have proper windshields.

Thank you, it's a mega job you did there, thecar really seem to be a kunos vanilla car.

Just 2-3 things, on the first skins, the driver name on the rear glass is rorhl, even if it's Biela, or Stuck,It's not a big deal by the way.
Second maybe you should consider adding a description text, maybe copy and paste wikipedia, it's a detail but to be more vanilla content.

It's secondary, the job you achieved is mega!

No it's not. Those are old skins from before. All the new skins for all 3 seasons added yesterday have correct names on windows. Just delete the old skins, as they are not necesary anymore.

After testing the Evo version at Pannonia Ring, I experienced the same thing that @Elio92 stated above. There's some steering issues, and a lot of sudden oversteer. Also, the car suddenly pulls to the right under heavy breaking. I tried three laps, and I couldn't finish one without going off the track. Elio and I are both skilled drivers, and this car should be easier to handle than it is.

Of course I appreciate anyone that puts time into a mod, and being that this looks good, and other aspects of the mod are good, this mod is worth some additional attention to address the oversteer and braking issues. If you didn't work on this, let me know, or pass this along to those that made the updates.

Yeah same here using gamepad to play, notice this car is without TCS & ABS, not sure if the real racing car behave like this in general or some tuning need ?
