BAHRAIN TRACK SKIN UPDATE. For the Bahrain2020 Track.
After watching the practice 1 footage on TV this morning, I've updated the track skin to more closely match the actual layout.
Changes Include:
Added 70 Gulf Air logos to start finish straight,
#thankyou our heroes logo boards along pit,
DHL across top of garages,
P-Zero and F1 Play boards,
Rolex, Pirelli, DHL, Aramco sponsors moved around to more closely match,
Added Pirelli Floor sponsor.

I should really extend the qualification time to give people more time to set laps, however @flyingsaucer and I have been hammering it around this track in duel of hilarity over the past few days :D

If anyone would like a track / car combination added to the rotation please just let me know, it takes a few minutes for me to configure it for you, and you can use it with your family or friends there is no restriction, you dont have to join the discord, or use it with me or my schedule etc.

If you want to race a certain track / car with a friend somewhere in the world or hot-lap with friends let me know and I'll add to the rotation at a time suitable for you, there are multiple servers up 24/7 so lets fill them up!!

If anyone has any ideas on what next week / next months hot-lap challenge should be, lets get it added đź‘Ť

I wanted to publicly thank @FileMissing aka "the equilibrist" he knows why for giving me some afternoons of pure fun like I haven't done for years. I "fast and furious" more furious than fast, I can guarantee you that he is very strong so train. Up for grabs is a special recipe to be prepared comfortably at home, your home, so get involved.
Jokes aside thank you and 1000 times thank you for taking the time to entertain others especially at this pivotal time when it seems like the forum has gotten into a nasty stalemate. We must think above all to have fun. Thanks @FileMissing thanks GtPlanet.

I have never understood these differences in size. Does the 3D have no dimensions?

The Alfa 33TT was 12% too big as imported from the rFactor2 source.
Strange too because it came from a highly regarded modeller.

Up to you if you want to tackle it but I find it criminal that we dont have a TVR Tuscan in the game, its weird and wacky but its iconic. First time I ever saw one it crashed into my dad on a Brands Hatch track day. It was that day that my 7 year old brain decided I need that car.

I wonder if you're the only person in history to see a car crash and then be like "Yep, I need me some of that." :lol:
 
I understand that some "tools" are available to improve league practice times , short version is the whole league all race the upcoming track, save their telemetry (mostly i think it uses gforce/brakes/acc) and the software takes the fastest parts of everyones laps from the collection to build a "best possible" scenario, then injects it not into the game, but, into the wheel controller (mim) for some supported wheels to bypass game hack controls online, essentially guiding inputs (presumably wheel is ffb's in opposite direction of the lateral gforce etc). Claim is its a training tool and not used online, but, since no one knows online if you are running it....? (scour reddit, were several post about 2 months ago in reference to iRacing, but largely conjecture, could never find an actual link. I have no doubt after all the recent cheating scandals in Iracing etal it possible its more than rumour)

now while that sounds dodgy AF for online racing , id say for learning a track its a damn awesome idea if there was a central database of telemetry that did a similar thing, calculate a best possible hypothetical for any car/track combo from all inputs, with playback of that telemetry in game, and or optionally allowing for switching dynamically in game to any recorded players car setup and telemetry, giving live feedback of differences between your own inputs and recorded inputs. Addition of that would be great!

is there a function in CSP to control tree colour variation? (a function within shader replacement perhaps) to change green saturation randomnly on the texture on a per plane basis?

For a lot of AC tracks the trees are all the same green, or at least the same texture across the models are the same, can make tracks look a bit flat

I think I cannot explain myself well , BRB going to record a clip.

edit: If you watch the below fullscreen @4k res, the sector 2-3 is more obvious, but on the actual triples full screen its obvious everywhere, nearly all the trees are "dark green" as normal for Spa (this is not AC), but much better because slight variations in saturtion exist. while my goal in simracing is not to look at the pretty trees, the effect this gves is a greater sense of speed, more pronounced in VR because you do not have a wall of the same green that means your brain/peripheral vision cannot pick individual trees or motion well. it is such a subtle thing can make such an impact. seems like this function would exist in CSP but buggered if I can find it?

Been a while. I had a free day today to check up on some of the things I've kinda missed out on over the past 6 months or so. Headed on over to RSS and picked up the Lanzo and Bayro ( I thought I had the Bayro , guess not. ) And then realized there was another car there that I missed some how , the Formula 1990!! Picked up a few new tracks today as well.......cold beers , some great left overs from last night.....and YeeHaww!....I'm off to the races!

I meant to get this out 2 days ago as a Thanksgiving present for all of the folks across the pond.

Here is a link to one of the courses i've been working on, it's been available on my Patreon feed for some time now, and is practically finished.

I'd appreciate any feedback you might have before I push this to Race Department for it's official release.

The latest version has all environment details in place, as well as a whole new track extension for the 'Long' layout, which is also used in the Rallycross tracks.
AI for all 5 layouts is included, although might still need a bit of tweaking.

Well, firstly, thanks for sharing Cannock track. It's surely a challenging to drive. It looks good too, lots of nice corners, undulation, flora (I like the look of the grass).
It's a bit heavy on my system (nothing dramatic, but 104 fps AVG alone on track, no clouds...could benefit from some optimizing).
There's a tire wall that does not work like it is supposed to (medium layout); you can drive through it:

I like the layout of Cannock Chase a lot, the track has amazing flow and elevation. Not to mention the scenery is gorgeous. But there are some huge problems that are preventing me from wanting to keep it.

Firstly, the AI line isn’t very good. On the main straight at race start they run into the pit wall and just cause tonnes of accidents in general at various points across the circuit in more high speed cars like GT1.

Secondly, the track really needs some cameras. It doesn’t have any and (I wasn’t aware at the time there weren’t any) if you try to select them in replay the game crashes and you need to use task manager to close it.

So I hope those two issues are fixed and I think this track will be one of my favourites.
