P4 - MCR is got to be my favorite currently and has been for a few months. Usually run a few laps or race or two whenever on AMS2 a lot over the weekend.

Adjusted my FOV a little. Adjusted camera motion, lean etc some. At the end of this weekend sessions. Feels/looks better then ever.

My number one suggested fix would be to have offline single race settings reset to default when you exit out of the game. First single race did to day, was on muticlass except it mixed the last 3 cars classes that I used from yesterday. Which were not anywhere close to being used in the same race series. Went ahead and raced it for heck of it. Was interesting to see how A.I. handle much slower cars. They actually did decent job.

VIR South is great for P4 and similar powered classes.

All the P series, 1 2 3 4, are super fun. I could sit down, pick one class and be content all night on a quick, 3-4 race championship with 30 min races. Getting ready to jump on in a few mins. 🙌
Getting the camera and movement settings right is key. At least the way you like them because there's such wide range of the settings for the cockpit view to feel right. FoV also to get that sense of speed right.
I do agree that they could maybe have button to "reset" single race to default. Leave it for when you want same settings and reset it too with a button. Multiclass AI racing is one of the things that makes AMS2 top. There's fun in having two different classes that never race together and trying them on track.
I want to finish my Indycar 2016 mod Championship tonight.

Agree that is what I have enjoyed so much with PC2 and now AMS2 basically lots of freedom to set car view the way you want it. Mix car classes etc. I do however wished there was simple way to combine gen 1 and gen 2 in the same car class if a person wanted to.

I usually do 10 to 15 laps or 15 minutes. Could easily move up to 20 or 30 minutes with P4, P3 and P1. Need to work on my tire management though (fronts).

You can do it. It's not hard to do but can get tedious. And you have to use mods or at least Content Manager.
Once Content Manager runs and produces Bootfiles, in the vehicles folder you'll see each car, in that cars folder is a *.crd file. Open that with notepad and where it says "Vehicle Class", change that to the group you'd like it to merge with.
Problem is, every time you run Content Manager, it reproduces these files over again and you have to rewrite each crd again.

I'm starting to wonder if this is the best racing game I've ever played.

I have only been a console racer.

I bought a gaming laptop so I could support kunos and buy AC Evo early. Since I was about to try PC racing for the first time I decided I would buy this have as well. I can't remember what I spent but I bought everything and it was very expensive and I just let it sit.

Haven't raced in several months and I finally got the urge to pull out my rig and race. I started with gt7 ONLY because I have the psvr2. Beautiful yes, but the races nearly put me to sleep

I opened up AC Evo and struggle for about an hour with the bindings because I couldn't get my car to move off the line. Nothing I tried worked, swear I had it working several months ago when I first bought it.

The football game got out of hand so I thought okay I've already got this all set up let me play automobilista 2

Best racing experience of my life. It is indeed what everyone has said, the spiritual successor to project cars 2. It was phenomenal and I can't wait to play more.

I wish the spotter / engineer said more than just telling me when somebody was on my right or my left. But, I'll take what I can get.

You need to get Crew Chief. Search for that. It's the main goto spotter/chief app in sim racing.
Glad you got on the bus. 🙂

Yes, that's it. Crew Chief. I remember when I first started with PC2, these during recommended that. I completely forgot.

THANK YOU.

I really wish this have was on PS5 because it's a project setting it up to run on my TV. But, it's truly worth it. It gives me PC2 vibes, but I believe with better handling. Hard to explain it but I feel like it's more robust/meatier/heavier

I'm guessing that doesn't describe it well 🤷‍♂️ but I don't know how else to describe it yet

It's gone well past Project Cars 2 in in a myriad of ways. They've taken the Madness Engine to a new level. Physics are a lot different and since 1.6, have been up there with the top as far as I'm concerned. The AI has many upgrades. Multi-class works. Full Course Yellows and Blue Flag behavior.
The FFB is wonderful. I'm using a Custom Force Feedback file that I adjust myself and love it. Plus we have most of the PC2 content coming in as mods so it's the best of both worlds. I wouldn't give up all the PC2 tracks for anything. It might be time to get used to setting up that PC. 😄 That's where these sims shine.

Wait, there are mods for this "work of art" of a game? Did I already buy them and not know it? I paid like 200 dollars for everything back when I bought it. I didn't even know what I have

Have tried to enjoy PC2 after AMS2. Except the few times have made those attempts. They lasted less than a few hours. AMS2 force feed back and physics are on a completely different level. I would like to think that for anyone that gives AMS2 a fair chance. That do not believe you would ever really go back to project cars . I am probably at the point that if get PMR will delete PC2. Except lucky for me have PC1 and PC2 still on PlayStation.

Just after noon central time in USA - no updates yet.

Almost 2 pm - download content is now on steam for USA. Went ahead purchased this for the cars and Lambo pack. At this time will wait for holiday sale for tracks. Except if purchase PMR then would be end of year or next year for tracks.

New content is downloading. Looks like 15 to 3o minutes to download and install.

Download now complete. Who needs candy when you can have new cars instead.

It's the car that won the 2004 24 Hour of Nürburgring. It didn't run in the FIA GT series. It also stopped running in ALMS in 2001 so it's a bit of an odd duck. Nice to have though.

tried it yesterday, the cars feel great on track but I needed to fiddle a lot with ffb again since my customer file from months ago didn’t work properly anymore. Does anyone have a good file and/or good settings for the fanatec DD2?

Finally jumped into AMS2, keep hearing about it being one of the go to sims on PC so it's about time I gave it a shot. Didn't take long to get a good feeling with the dualsense on it, the amount of content is quite overwhelming and that's without having any of the addons yet.

First impressions are good, it kind of feels like what Project Cars could have gone on to be if it had continued, has a good feeling on the pad, the visuals are good, even on my laptop which, whilst it is built for gaming, isn't super powerful, can still run most things on high and get a rock solid 60fps. AI is good fun to race against, certainly better than ACC and pCars AI ever was.

Going to have fun with this. Hoping some of the addons go on sale during November/Black Friday.

(Hahaha! I forgot about that little line in the file that SOMEBODY thought was just so hilarious when they sent it to me. It actually was pretty funny though. Not safe for work but funny.) Intended for the person who read that and deleted the first post.

Anyways, we will try again. :)
I have a DD2, this is a personally edited rFuktor file I use. See if it fits your style. Look in the file to see what the sliders are changing because they've been changed.

End of a good weekend. Messed around with variety of the new cars. Not doing anything to serious yet. All things considered great update. The 2005 cars do feel a bit sliddy (push through the turns). Could be some of camera adjustments that I made. Also need to work on my car set-ups, break settings for 2005 cars. Slow corners sometime get what seems to be sudden grip loss from front tires. Then front end snaps or heads the car off the track. I am positive that can make adjustments to minimize that. Was fun pushing the cars to limits to where you would get loose. Out of town next weekend. After that get back to some racing.

I've driven almost all of the new cars and tracks. I honestly didn't know Spa and LeMans were in those configurations in 2005. For the most part the cars feel fairly good to drive. That BMW is a torque monster. I drove it at Donington GP and kept spinning it out on those hairpins. The Audi R8 needs some BOP adjustment for LeMans. I drove the Courage and passed the R8 like it was in another class. But at Spa the R8 was fine.

Those are some very tiny and very dim brake lights on the LMP2 cars. I haven't driven at night yet to see if there is a big difference but in the day they are very hard to see.

I like the GT1 and GT2 cars. Of the four GT1 races I've ran the lead AI car has always been the same white & blue livery Aston Martin. I think it might be the strongest car in the group. The one race I ran with it was my most lopsided win even at a higher AI strength number.

I made a change to my ffb before this update based on the Andy East video that Marc Collins referenced on the Reiza fourm. I have a Fanatec CSL DD. I switched from peak to linear on the wheel base, raised the fx in game to 100 and lowered the gain a little.

Yeah. Must be the car in addition to the AI driver profile they have assigned to that livery.

It’s neat they have certain drivers and liveries who perform better than others. But it can make the races kind of same-y and boring if you run the same class a lot.

Also idk why but for me the AI driving the M3 GTRs absolutely smoke the GT1 cars. I know the M3 is in a separate class than the other cars but I can’t help but still be kinda disappointed they made it so ridiculously quick and not have it be in the GT2 class like it was in the ALMS in 2001.

It varies across the classes. In a lot of the classic F1 races I run the two McLarens or the two Williams cars will pair up and rocket away. But in the IMSA or European endurance races it will mix it up what the lead car or cars will be.

I ran the M3 GTR in a standalone race since it was my first time driving it and I just wanted to see how it behaved. The classic multi class 2005 endurance race I ran was LMP1, LMP2, and GT1 at 2005 LeMans. It was a 25 minute race but at the end the GT1 cars were still a good half lap in front so I didn't get a chance to see how it was passing slower cars with that group. Sometime this week I'll run a shorter track to see how that goes.
