You Aucklanders are ponses. Limiting the Speedway like that. The only Aucklanders that have spirit are the ones on K Road. Atleast they are doing something for themselves, without staging some kind of coup

And the westies, they don't give a ****

Is it just me or has this thread gone off-topic?

Anyway, Lowdnes, Skaife, Murphy and Ambrose all seemed to do well in the practice session. Qualifying today should be good, although us night-shift workers will have to get up early to watch it.

Woah! Just watching the HDPC(sp?) series race at Bathurst and a 'Roo almost got hit again, geez. It was close to 2 cars, it even slipped over on the track.

Don't you think after what happened at the last race that they would've cleared the track of all animals?
How? By running around the track, butt naked, scaring the poor creatures away???

I am going to watch every minute. Wait. Every second, of Bathurst.

Well if that's how you deal with wild animals where you live then okay..

The track is a public road isn't it? I thought it was all fenced off...

Nah. That's how Aussies do it. The animals get scared of them because animals don't like little things.

I think it's all like farms. Kangaroos can jump those fences.

As far as I know theres tunnels under some parts of the tracks for the animals, so I don't see why they have to go over the track and risk getting hit. Must be an extreme sport for animals.
"World championship of car dodging"

lol, i can imagine it.
"GO FREDDIE, YOU ARE THE BOMB!!! Kick that roads ass from here... oh...ew...reckon hes okay"
"oh yeah sure, hes heads half broken off and hes legs ten feet over there just for the fun of it"
"and skater queers think they are tough..."

Why? The animals were there first. Kangaroos have been jumping across the track for years and accidents involving them are few and far between.

Yep, the track is a scenic road during the week. 60 kmh two-way traffic. The race barriers are permanent fences for the properties adjoining the track, but only the winery on Mountain Straight and the paddock area have 'roo fencing as far as I've seen.

The tunnels under the track are for smaller animals such as wombats - kangaroos wont normally enter a tunnel so they just use the track.

 I think they might really need some of those signs.
Does a yellow flag get waved when a Kangaroo is on track?

Yeah. If it gets squished they’d probably wave the slippery surface flags :p

one came bloody close in the friday HPDC Series!! Just through the cutting. Well an all ford front row 👎 but i spose if a ford guy had to win i hope its lowndes.. top bloke. Skaife looks quick and the castrol cars are always reliable. Looks like the weather is going to play apart tomorrow aswell! in for a good race. I W.A, means a bright and early start at 5am, with the race starting at 8. GO HOLDEN!

The shootout was great. Too bad for Russle Ingall though, he was doing so well.

Lowndes had so much damn understeer though, I was pretty impressed with his speed over the top of the mountain 👍

Blake

Shoot out was interesting, I would have liked Seto and Jimmy to of had a dryer track so we could have seen what they could really do.

I would have much prefered Skaife on the front row but Lowndes is there so I'm pretty happy.

I find it funny how a lot of you were such gun-ho Lowndes fans, yet couldn't spell his name.

Yeah, from about Reid Park onwards he was very impressive, couldnt have used more room if he wanted to. Pushed it very hard yet was perfect. His shootout lap last year was much the same over the top, was up on the pole that time too i think, until he ran wide at the chase.

Can't wait boys! only an hour to wait before 10.00pm!!! (that's the time the coverage starts over here in England on Motors TV). I want the SBR team to do well!!! This will also be my first ever live Bathurst!!!

Just over an hour and a half until coverage starts here, race start 2hrs after that :)

Beer = on ice
Steak = thawing (ready for lunch)
Pizza = in the oven (breakfast and snacks)

All is ready, let the racing begin

Well I've got my armchair nice and soft, hopefully mum has decent food in the cupboard and she's the only one here so there isn't many distractions. A little over an hour till race time. I'm excited!

Go Skaifey, Go!
