In the last couple of days I started to grow fond of the AN - 94, great weapon when you know how to use it and adapt your play style to it. And actually pretty good with hipfire as well.
I have a love/hate relationship with the AN-94. When my aim feels to be on and I am playing very well, then the AN-94 is awesome. The two round bursts can be fired off incredibly fast and so long as I doing my job aiming, targets tend to fall fast. However, if I am not playing particularly well, then the AN-94 is not a good option for me to use. I miss too many shots, cannot get the bursts to line up well, and just have an overall bad experience.
Try the AUG if you have the DLC.
If you mean use the AUG A3 for the Support class, then that is going to be difficult to do. I am assuming you meant use the weapon with Assault though. I am currently working towards unlocking the Mastery dog tag with the AUG A3; I lack around 50 kills for the Mastery. I like the AUG A3 and believe the AUG to be mostly a good gun. However, in comparison to the M16A3, AEK-971, and M416, the AUG is lacking; though, that statement goes for nearly all guns in the game.
The bullpup design of the AUG A3 is nice. The hipfire benefit can be useful. The problem I have had with the AUG though is that there are many deaths I have experienced that I felt would not have happened had I been using the M16A3, M416, or AEK-971.
All three listed have higher rates of fire. The M16A3 and M416 have faster, both short and long, reload times, which is incredibly handy in all situations. Both AR-15 pattern rifles are pretty good at all ranges. The AEK-971 is a monster in close quarters, especially if the long reload times line up to not be a factor, and is useful enough out to mid range. The problem is the M416, M16A3, and AEK-971 are too well balanced and everything else is not balanced well enough in comparison.
