I'm saving up right now to get this car. I've noticed not a lot of people use this car.

Is this car that bad when compared to other LM cars like the R8, Playstation Car, GT-1, 787b, etc.?

Anyone use this car with a lot of success?

Unlock endurance events if you haven't already, Win El captin (Not very hard), get the Toyota 88C-V. Arguably the best of the LM/ Group c cars and you get it for fee.

The BMW sucks, win the Audi R8 in the La Sarthe 24/hour Endurance, like I did.

Oh, and get the F1 from the 24/Nürburgring race, like I did.

I think you will have to find out for yourself. Many of the LMP/Group C cars are very similar in overall performance, but they all have different characteristics and personalities. A car that appeals to you and works well with your driving style might be a poor choice for someone else, just as a car that seems slow to you or which you just do not like might be a good racer for another perosn.

i actually bought this car over the R8 because to me it looked better and im also tired of seeing the R8.
dont get me wrong the R8 is bad ass, i just want something more exclusive.

For me it's a good car.
I saved money in order to buying it (I'm a fan, I've seen it winning Le Mans 99), and I'm not disapointed. I haven't drove the other LMP cars, so I can't do comparisons, but it handles well and is powerfull.
I also won the Mercedes clk GTR, which is as powerfull, and I must say there is a big difference, the BMW handles much better.

It is really a great car.
you guys are nuts. the toyota is junk, really tiny power band, terrible brakes and poor handling, low grip, high wheelspin.... :grumpy: 👎

The Bimmer is waaay better than that p.o.s. toyota. You won't be driving any of them once you get the Sauber Mercedes C9 though... :)

DITTO!
I like this car, but will admit that I tend to use the Audi R8 OR the Toyota Minolta a bit more often for most of the EXTREME race events...

IIRC the BMW win at Le Mans '99 wasn't because it was the fastest car (it wasn't), but because it was the most reliable. The Toyotas had problems, the Mercedes team retired from the race because their cars were flying all over the track (literally, LOL), and I think the Audis had problems too.

So, if the cars are acurate, don't expect the BMW to be as fast as the other LM or LMP cars available. And since cars in the game don't have mechanical problems (and the Mercedes don't fly), you won't even have the "endurance" advantage of those beauties.

Anyways, they're awesome cars and Le Mans winners.

Yeah I remember catching Speed T.v. one time when they were Speedvision and were actually showing decent racing events. The BMW was dominating pretty easily... man those were the days. Now I have Speed T.v. we have things like Nascrap

Just a bit OT but I think SpeedTV should be renamed to NASCAR-TV as most of the shows now are NASCAR related and the only time you'll see anything that isn't related to NASCAR is either early morning or late night!!

More like Nascrap t.v... I really don't understand why they don't show old races from like the 50's 60's 70's 90's hell... even 80's! It's kinda sad that all these new generations are going to know are the gay ass sounds of a nascrap's tires squealing at they hit the wall and each other...

Assuming GT4 resembles real life trends, the Sauber Mercedes C9 will be faster on most tracks than the Toyota 88-CV.

I think the reason people rant about the 88-CV is because it is very easy to win, compared to the Sauber C9 (in the NTSC/PAL version).

Very true...
But I sold mine for that very BMW V12LMR... give it the final stage'd turbo and it will carry 1004hp- absolutely dominates in B-spec.

The BMWs are very good actually.. I've done an NA 3 to the M3GTR race car, its got 615hp all-motor hp, and kills any of the calsonic skylines or castrol supras, etc.
The only BMW to be inefficient is the Mclaren LM.... not quick enough for the power, and probably a glitch in the game, because that car in reality was pretty dominate in it's leage.

Win an F1 car then save up and buy the black race cars. And buy the other cars later later.

Where do you get the black cars? I already have the F1 car, but I read you find them in the used lot, but which used lot?

That Sauber is a beast... still have yet to win it. That toyota loses grip easily though, so its not considered the most reliable. I gave the one I had a larger Turbo and it was too overwelming for even medium soft slicks....

Question?!?!?...... Due the LMP black cars handle as well as the new ones, or are they weaker in anyway?? Due the have the same power? Im about to reach the day when they all show up in the used car show rooms so Just wondering if I should even get them if they are not as powerful...

It is all in the tunning as I have both cars and they both are good, Took me a while to get them dialed in the toyota oversteers like crazy at high speeds but set the dec on the Limited slip diff to 60 and tune the suspention and its much beter. I have posted my settings for the Bmw in the settings forum. You can private mesage me if you want toyota settings or anything else realy.

So does anyone have an answer?

Your advices take a bit long don't ya think (24h) also in B-spec.
The REAL money maker is the Deutche Touring Meisterschaft in European hall, as a prize car you'll get a 745,000 credits (two times the Saleen for the ones that have another version than PAL) within let's say 20 mins. race that 8 times and you'll get over 4,500,000 credits for buying the Audi R8 or something within 2,5 hours:D NOW THAT'S EASY:idea:

Used cars always are less powerfull than the new ones, but I think it really doesn't matter, you can do a new oil change and a body refreshment or something and it'll work out good enough for me at least:sly:👍

What the hell did you smoke this morning?. The Minolta is great if you set it up correctly. Extremely fast, handles great, brakes aren't too bad. Its all a matter of how you've got the car set up.
