Right, well that's me buying the Season Pass... More bosses is a good thing. Actually, no, more Borderlands is a good thing. I wonder how much content there is in the DLCs combined compared to the full game, I don't think I really care though as long as they're all General Knoxx quality... Wasn't a huge fan of the Dr. Ned DLC and I never actually got round to finishing the Claptrap Revolution one, I'm ashamed to say.

I saw on the Borderlands wiki last night that some people have found Law revolvers with over 15k damage. I. Want. That! Apparently the Sheriff in Lynchwood drops them occasionally, but she also frequently drops stuff out of bounds, which is a pain.

Tonight I got to level 21 with Gaige, managed to rampage my way from Liars Berg to the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve with some co-op guys, one of whom was British but didn't seem to be able to type a single sentence without a typo. He said 'see u tomoto' which I figured was him saying goodbye, so I said 'cool, bye' and he asked where I was going. Weird. Anyway, yeah, as much as I wanted to avoid the Best Friends Forever tree, health and shield regen was too good to pass up. Then I got a skill that means you and Deathtrap have stacking melee damage and each kill extends his summon duration, I got up to at least 83 stacks in the Caustic Caverns thanks to the Law giving me a huge melee boost anyway. I was two-hitting same level Wormhole Threshers! In short, Gaige is pretty awesome.

Another thing... A lot of people were saying the Gaige DLC was too expensive, but it included the preorder bonus weapons, artefact and key so maybe the future ones, assuming they don't come with extras like those, will be a little cheaper. I wouldn't mind paying £8 per character if they came with similar extras. £8 for just a character is a bit steep.

I think that sums up all the stuff I've been saving up to post while playing all day, sorry if it's a wall of text.

Finally beat the... Tentacle thing at Hyperion's place. Copious use of Decepti0n and crits to hell and back finally brought it down. Then, later, I finally found it.

A new sniper rifle.

It does double the damage of my old one. That's all I care about, that I can finally take on the world with confidence.

The DLC is releasing next week. Sooner than I thought it would and I probably won't play it for a while since I'm only level 19 and I want to beat it first. Sounds cool though.

Got link or something?

Does confirm some stuff but then again just what we need is more currency running around, I already have 99 eridium now we get 99 seraph to full up. it better give more backpack space.

Well, I finally finished my first play-through; I got my zero character up to level 32.

What an awesome game. DLC quests/stories can't come soon enough.

I have Borderlands 1 GOTY edition ($5 steam sale), but never played the dlc. Were they standalone for PC or did they require the game install? ; I need the space but want to be ready for dlc lol.

They're not standalone, and I'm not sure (pretty sure though) if you install Borderlands then the DLC is already installed, I don't recall seeing separate options for them, nor did I have to do any further installation when I wanted to play them. Entering the keys for them is tricky and not explained anywhere though, when you use a fast travel to go to a DLC location it will appear as though the game has crashed, you have to alt-tab out to get the key entry screen then go back to the game again.

Also, about Eridium, did you guys know it costs 4 to fight Terramorphous? Not sure if that's a one-off charge or what. I'm guessing this new stuff will act as currency to pay to fight the new raid bosses or something. Also I assume it's a different currency to stop people who have naturally stockpiled 99 Eridium from waltzing in and buying everything right off the bat.

If you have GOTY all the DLC released for BL1 is in there.

The new stuff is to buy weapons and whatnot, but it says nothing about level cap, backpack/bank increase or anything like that. So really it would just be another stockpile worth of crap.

Who is ready for some Borderlands 3?? Here is something down the road

I finished Normal mode with Gaige tonight, managed to start the last quest at level 26 (online) and ended the boss fight on level 29, leapfrogging another guy in the lobby in the process (he joined level 27, left level 28). I was utterly useless in the final fight but managed to find an orange grenade mod in a vending machine and revive a whole load of guys, also my Deathtrap was keeping their shields topped up and there was one occasion where I was the only surviving member of the party so I just hid to make sure the boss didn't reset. I thought I ran through normal mode pretty quickly with her but it was actually 19 hours. I'm not sure if it could be done much quicker than that, really, seeing as I was only just about hanging on at the end and everyone else was carrying me.

For contrast, I've got a level 14 Axton who is currently on A Train To Catch, it's taken 9:58:00 to get that far.

What sort of Mechro build were you using? Pure Anarchy-based, support or "sit back and let Deathtrap frag some fools"?

Is there a way to tell play time for each character on PS3? I haven't checked save files or challenges to see.

I don't know what the console version's main menu is like, but it should say when you select the character you want to load.

You know I was wondering this. I have checked the files in playstation main menu and I can't to seem to find anything about stats like that in the game menus. Last night me a friend tried to get to the vault key on TVH. It didn't go well we were level 45 and when we saw a super badass loader that was level 48 we turned tail and ran the other way lol.

Sharky.

Oh, my phone must've eaten my reply to this. I've put all my skill points into Best Friends Forever so far, yes yes, the tree which is also known as 'Girlfriend mode'... Deathtrap isn't doing all the work mind you, most of the time I only actually press F if I'm about to die, if I know I'm going to die soon, if I'm fighting someone I'd like to flank (such as a Nomad with a shield or Spiderants) or if my co-op buddies are struggling with their shields as I have the skill that makes him randomly recharge someone.

I do want to try Anarchy, though, but I'm waiting until I have all the skill points I can possibly have so I can get right the way down into the tree.

While everyone is having fun I was busy with some homework but had enough time to read a bit of patch notes that I find useful.

Red loot chests only spawning certain types of items.
Corrected spawn rate of Michael Mamaril in Sanctuary.

So guess michael would be maybe spawning more? If anyone can test it maybe?

I think they're referring to fixing the 100% spawn rate on consoles before Sanctuary's, er, event. It should be and now is 10%, even though I've never seen him. Then again I don't often look because I've heard he will only ever give you loot at the level you're at when you first find him and I haven't spent much time at level 50 with Zer0 yet (mainly because I want to have stuff to do when the level cap is raised so the XP from quests isn't wasted).

I'm doing homework too, if it makes you feel better, writing about field effect transistors. It's dull.

looks like I will be playing the DLC in PT1 or maybe just start on PT2, and get me to level 50.

It's official, Gaige with the Ordered Chaos tree, a shotgun and a lot of anarchy stacks is a certified badass. 150 base anarchy stacks = +262.5% damage, which turns your level 8 40x15 peashooter into a 145x15 stick of death and demise. Never mind the fact you have to be right up in enemies' faces to hit them thanks to the equally whopping -262.5% accuracy, one hit and everything dies.

I got myself a very nice gun out of caustic caverns I will put in spoiler text.

I was farming the mine craft area and finally got the badass creeper to drop a legendary sniper. It is my level (45) and it does nearly 15000 damage, 97% accuracy and a small 6 round clip and has fire elemental. If anyway wants pics just say its on my PS3.

SOLD!

I've decided I'm going to finish Normal mode with everyone first then start TVH. I've collected a small 'care package' of weapons that I leave in my stash, generally decent weapons with different elemental effects of around level 20-25 (perfect for the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve), they include a legendary shock SMG, an E-Tech fire SMG, a shock handgun and a legendary explosive shotgun which is actually useless (it launches a barrage of explosions which do very little to anything that's either too close or too far away and doesn't really do much to stuff even at the correct distance), so I'm going to put a corrosive sniper in there instead.

Edit: Oh yeah, finish the post first, then send it...

So yeah, I have this stash and it works really well, I love that they added a much easier way of swapping gear between characters, split screen mode workarounds were just a pain. It does kind of homogenise the experience though because when I hit level 20 I tend to use those weapons until the end of the game, though the lower level ones only last until about level 25, I usually find something better around that point.

I went at it most of the weekend trying to get my level 40 character to level 50. Beat the game on the 2nd playthrough with friends, joined other randoms and beat other main bosses like Terramorphous and just tried most of everything to level up legit. Wow what a battle over and over and I am still only level 47.

So those of you might remember that when the game first came out, within 5 days people already had level 50s and claimed it was legit. I can confirm again that it was 100% impossible to do that legit. I did however find out exactly how they cheated to get to level 50 that fast. I pulled a coulpe of them into the party and asked them how they did it. I guess there is some sort of exp boost that they are using with meatstick on the 2nd playthrough. I havent tried it because its just straight up 100% cheating. But I guess you can get a level 1 to level 50 in 30 minutes with the meatstick method. So again, the people that were level 50 within the first 5 days the game came out, indeed cheated. It is impossible to get your character to level 50 in 5 days without cheating somehow.

The DLC comes out tomorrow and there is just so much going on this month, I dont know if I will get the DLC. Between Borderlands 2, RE6, Mass Effect 3 free co-op dlc, Doom 3 tomorrow, Forza Horizon next tuesday, then Most Wanted 2012 the following tuesday, then Halo 4 the Tuesday after that, I just cant keep up!!

Three things:
- How on earth did you manage to finish TVH without hitting level 50? When you say you did everything, I assume you did all the side quests, right? Even with a whole stack of side quests left over I was level 50 before the last story quest!

- I don't think I'd call the Flesh Stick exploit 'cheating' exactly, the infinite key cheat is definitely cheating, Flesh Stick is... Yeah, it's certainly dubious but it does nothing to upset anyone else, duping of weapons and infinite keys can ruin the 'economy' just like trading and duping ruined GT5's trading economy. How do you view level 50 players who use the Varkids in Tundra Express on normal mode to grind their Badass challenges? It's not cheating because you're not gaining an important advantage over anyone, but it's probably not what was intended.

- I believe it's entirely possible to hit level 50 in five actual days (not game time days, that's factually possible), it took me three game time days to get to level 50 and I wasn't rushing until I got to TVH, up to that I took my time and spent ages in normal after I'd finished it and didn't level up more than once. Had I rushed I think I could have done it in maybe 2 and a half days which is 60 hours, that's what, 12 hours a day? Now, if I'd been constantly playing co-op with people who were two levels higher it would have shortened more, if I'd had better gear throughout it would have also been quicker. Therefore if the player had no job, no education to attend, no girlfriend, wife, boyfriend or husband, no pets to feed and a huge bladder I reckon level 50 could be done in five days. Never underestimate hardcore gamers!

Disclaimer: I power levelled my Gaige for the first 8 levels and used the Flesh Stick cheat/exploit/grind last night to go from level 14 to 19 with my Salvador, but my Zer0 was completely legitimate. I don't mind taking shortcuts after doing it legit once, I just don't have enough time to spend 3 days on each character!

I will try to clear up any confusion. When I say I beat the 2nd playthrough TVH I meant I joined a couple friends over the weekend that had already beat the 2nd playthrough and I just joined in with them and rolled through. Trying to gain some levels on my own character to get it closer to 50 so I can battle Terramorphous. We battled Terramorphous a few times and even battled in some of the different arenas. But they were doing most of the work.

On MY actual storyline I am only just now approaching the bloodwing level on the 2nd playthrough. I have spent almost all my time helping other friends with their campaigns. I do realize that by the time I went all the way through on the 2nd playthrough of my own campaign, I would be level 50. But I just do not see how that would be possible in 5 days without some sort of cheating, boosting, or meat stick grinding. *that actually sounds hilarious*

I will watch some of those DLC videos and decide if I want the DLC. I am loving this game but as I mentioned a couple posts back #392, there are a lot of games out right now so I am very busy.

Well I just beat the bunker for the 2nd time, the first time I was down to the 8 and walked off the edge, Oops, so I had to redo it and manage to beat that, level 46 about to hit 47, Probably will wait to play some more until after the release of the dlc.

Unconfirmed reports of Level cap to 56 with this DLC, so if you have keys this would be the time to save!!

Looking forward to the DLC tonight but I'm not sure if I'll play it right away, I probably will anyway but I'd like to get to the end of Normal with Axton and Maya first. I just got to Talon of God with Salvador so I imagine I'll be finishing that tonight, then I'll get stuck in with Maya probably.

DLC is out but my game is not reading it, it says check the Downloadable content and nothing is there. It says I have it but not there.

Edit: Just had to restart steam...

Going to pick up the season pass for $24 at GMG tonight, no way am I paying $40 direct from Steam!
