Breaking out and getting to 2 million+ MPH

Oh, yeah that invisible wall is your car tearing out of normal space and entering subspace, where the car can travel at Warp 3.2, but obviously the physics engine can't compute subspace! :D

I just have to say that some of you guys (and gals) need to spend a little more time with your homework and a little less time on the PS2. Examples:

31 % speed of light, then "corrected" (!) to 3.1%

Famine dug deep into simple arithmetic skills to point out the correct factor. This is not calculus, or even algebra. It's 4th grade arithmetic.

More:

"went throw the barer"
"were r all the breakout points"
"I want to knoe"

OTOH, it helps to see this stuff out there. It's what keeps me so far above average. :D

i cnat seem to toget it to work, ive breakin out of the track and thats all i can do i cant seem to get the 2.4 billion mph trick to work all i can do it break out of the track. can some help me plz

Do your car have the wheelie settings???

Mine almost froze, but instead of freezing, the entire game slowed down maybe a few frames, then sped up for the rest of that lap. I never seen anything so bizarre in my life. That little glitch nearly made me worry about the data on my memory card.

I played a bunch of my replays into a digital video camera, then into my PC via Firewire, and put a video together. I don't have the bandwidth to share the video, but here are some screenshots. (BTW, the video is over 13 minutes, DVD-quality MPG, almost 700 MB! I have a lower-res .wmv version just over 145 MB, and a tiny wmv version just over 20 MB. Anybody with space and bandwidth who'd like to host them?)

Most of these are Monaco, a few from Seattle, and my 2 billion-mph shot, as well.

I'd really like to make the video available, but I don't have anyplace to host it.

As has been posted 'bout 47 times, there are 2 points at Monaco. The easiest is the bottom of the tunnel straight, the fastest part of the track. Crash into the barrier right up against the right-side rail at top speed. That gets you inside the track, not a lot of places to go except the pool or the casino, and there are no babes. The other breakout is at the top of the course, you go up the long hill after turn 1, make the left sweeper, then the right. The breakout is at the end of that straight, against the left rail. That one's hard, because it's hard to get fast enough. I used a 094/S with very short gearing for quick acceleration. I had the final drive around 4.6 or 4.7.

Oh and I already know
Equip the highest NA or Turbo tune-up
Put spring rate to minimum for front and back
Put ride height to minimum for front and back
Put gear's auto setting to widest, and final to 3.000
Put front down force to minimum and back to maximum
Set ASM and TCS to level 0.

Setup

I was doing the 78 laps of mistral in an f094/s and had very worn tires. I came in much too fast for the backstraight chicane and hit the wall just right and broke out of the track. I ended up with a lap time of 48 seconds.

I am getting pissed off!!! becaues I searched the whole website and I sill don't know any other setup I got the escudo to do a wheelie it went up about 20* to 30* inthe air and it still didn't go faster it did exactly 232 Mph i am seriously getting pissed off!!

Use the GT-one race car. It's easier and faster to do and it starts to wheelie before 6 gear.

Two things:

One: It's easier to get through that barrier (after the starting line on Seattle Circuit II at that corner) if the car (especially an Escudo above 190 miles per hour) has the front wheels turned towards the right and riding up against the wall before the barrier.

Two: I was able to do the trick but I hit "only" about 250,000 MPH.

I never gave the wheelie, backflip or bazillion mile per hour tricks in GT3 a care but this photo is great. It made me almost spit coffee out my nose I was laughing so hard once I figured out what I was seeing.

Priceless.

But how did you do your car flying????

Just drive around the track until you see the track is below you and WEEEEWWWWW fall down like a comet...

Let's take a poll...

How many people that have read this topic actually believe me?

I know it works, just want to see if ya'll believe me or not. :P
hi guys im new to this site but not to gt3!!!
im telling u guys IT DOES WORK
i cant do it with wheelie settings but im working on that
i did it like 30 times in seattle in various corners and like 10 times in ss rt 5
i did it with my f094/h, zonda race car, raybrig nsx, calsonic skyline, and others
and if u still dont believe me here is a link to VIDEO CLIPS of other people doing it

http://boards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=25237922&replies=97

ahhaha is that a replay from one of the other cars or something?

The replay view is from one of the AI cars as I drove over the track and crashed back down. After you break out, the car keeps whatever elevation it is at, unless it goes over (or under) certain types of surfaces, which snap it back to the surface's elevation. So you drive around in the air, or in the mountain. You can't cross the course without snapping back to the course surface and inside the normal barriers again. The breakout at Monaco that goes outside the track is at a fairly high elevation, so you fly over the scenery afterwards.

If you go back to my previous post, with the thumbnails, the shot looking down on the Toyota GT-One is from the F1 car as it's falling, and the two shots in the coffee-spitting post are the view from the Toyota.
