Obtained this yesterday, I'll be sure to have a look today. I liked the first CoD, so I'm sure I'll like this one. Shame I can't play it on high.

I hate shotgun noobs. I pwned on El-Almein (sp?) with the MP44. They can go and die!

and not know how to properly use it they promptly get owned by everyone else. I love when that happens, they kinda shoot franticly, start reloading and then you grind them up.

But with the shotgun, you'll never learn how to aim. And with the shotgun you don't have to aim precisely to kill someone so that's why I call them are noobs.

My first screen from the game. I'm on the mission "Pipeline." Only been playing for about two hours so far. Man I love this game.
I run full/highest settings/4xAA@1024x768. I could probably go to 1280x1024 or maybe even 1600x1200. I'll have to try later.

you must be getting really low fps, i get 5-15 fps at 4xaa full highest.

Sure is. Burgundy, Carentan, Caen and Villers Bocage are some of my favourite maps for the thompson in particular. You've got to admit though, those shotties pack some serious punch!!

Edit : I've used it a couple of times and I didn't find it good. Especially when someone is far away from you and you try to shoot him

lol thats very true. Distance is a big problem with shotty. Apart from the shotty n00bs, I also dislike the Ppsh42'ers (even though i am one lol) on levels such as Moscow,Leningrad and Stalingrad, actually i'm speaking out of spite because anytime i do join those levels on multiplayer the Russian team is already overcrowded and i'm forced on to the German side to use the MP-44 or MP40, easier prey for the Ppsh'ers

Actually, the PPSH isn't good either when it comes to distance. The MP44 is great! It's easy to kill someone far away, the PPSH isn't. But the PPSH is good to kill with, when someome is close to you, it's more effective. The MP44 is good too but not that effective as the PPSH.

The MP44 is a great gun don't get me wrong, its probably the most all rounded gun in the game, it's good at long distance and at a shorter distance too, just that on certain smaller maps its no too effective when you have others dancing in your face with a Ppsh, Thompson or MP40, as your less mobile than them.

now i get about 40-60 fps

You know the way the computer compresses old files when your clearing the hardrive - does it compress old game files which haven't been used in a long while?

My counterstrike doesn't seem to want to execute

I've never heard of that, I guess partly because I try not to keep unused programs on my HD.

Control Panel - Performance and Maintenance - free up space on you hardrive - i think.

V-sync is mainly aimed at LCD and TFT monitors.
