I wouldn't blame you, should it be the case.

And if the information is correct, is this M$(I realize you guys hate this :p) throwing money at Activision/IW, or the publisher just decided to shortchange Playstation players?

I should stop here, before we find out exactly what's going on. :dopey:

Oh god, guys I have confused you, I re read my post and I can see what happened. The two map packs are coming out on release but only for 360 I believe. They can pay for the maps right off the bat where as we have to wait a few weeks to buy ours. This is because MS threw money at the right people to get exclusives (Both GTA 4 expansions and these maps early).

Also, modernwarfare247 is, as mentioned by Tsukuba, going against leaks but this didnt stop the same French guy from leaking Single Player. I do not wish to see it but it is here :

http://www.mw2blog.com/modern-warfare-2-campaign-footage-leaked-on-justin-tv/

Hopefully the major sites stopping leakage should stop the guys from actually leaking it but I doubt it. I will just refuse to watch most of them.

Anyway, here is what 402 has to say about the complaining of the addition of 3rd party game modes.

"It's not something you can toggle on and off in ANY game," said Bowling. The special mode can only be played in private matches -- toggled on or off just like "Hardcore" settings -- or in playlists that are designated for third-person play. According to Bowling, everyone playing in a third-person playlist will be restricted to the viewpoint. "This is just another cool way to play the game," he said, "you obviously will still have the option to play gametypes normal as well."

From Joystiq.

Oh, great. Now I'm really upset(you know), but both as a X360 player & a PS3 player. I think we should consider boycott. I understand that bazillion dollars x infinity is not enough for IW, or Activision, but come on!

So I was correct, and thus continue my hatred for developers who clearly care more about money then they're products. I suspect Activision is more the cause then IW.

I just saw the five videos but good old Rabia beat me to it...

Yes Dragonistic, you were correct, I also think that Activision is more the cause.

Activision and of course Microsoft who appear to be just trying to buy the entire market up as best they can. It's outrageous and proves they don't really care about gamers, I mean yes business is indeed business, but their methods are just plain dirty, but the damn developers keep going for the money as well. I can't even imagine how much MS payed for the GTA DLC exclusives, seeing how much R* could have made on PSN.

50 million dollars, and they've got it back in the 1st week of sales.

Beat me to it...it is a shame really, it isnt fair on 1/3 of players (the PS3 players), rockstar would have made more money if PS3 came in. Within a month they would have made way more than Microsofts offer. I dont see what the hell is up with the companies now but w/e. Apparently spending more money on a console doesnt do much. If Sony didnt lose money for every PS3 they sell then maybe we would be doing the same thing as Microsoft:indiff:.

Aanyway, kinda a news thing without spoiling Single Player. I know what the scene is but I havent seen it.
Without spoiling anything about the storyline, you can skip a certain violent scene in Modern Warfare 2.
Modern Warfare 2 Singleplayer Campaign

When a very violent scene taken from the Modern Warfare 2 singleplayer campaign was leaked on the Internet it shocked quite a view people. Of course we will not tell you what makes this scene so shocking, but this is the statement by Activision after being questioned about the supposed very violent scene:

Source: VG247 (spoilers) »
“Players have the option of skipping over the scene. At the beginning of the game, there are two ‘checkpoints’ where the player is advised that some people may find an upcoming segment disturbing. These checkpoints can’t be disabled.” - Says the Activision spokesman.
“Modern Warfare 2 is a fantasy action game designed for intense, realistic game play that mirrors real life conflicts, much like epic, action movies. It is appropriately rated 18 for violent scenes, which means it is intended for those who are 18 and older.”

Call of Duty: World at War was BBFC rated for 15 years and older (M) due to extreme violence and gore, Modern Warfare 2 has been given the BBFC rating for 18 years and older (M). Apparently setting people on fire with a flame thrower is suitable for 15 year olds but Modern Warfare 2 has things even worse. We can't wait to find out for ourselves, when time is there. Again, we ask of you to not spoiler anything off the Singleplayer campaign on the Internet!

Also, I will (in spoiler tags) barely tell you what the scene is, where it is and the very violent scene they speak of. Please dont highlight if you dont even want a tiny bit spoiled.

The scene takes place in an airport. (I believe the one from the first trailer). Apparently they are walking around in the Airport and see some civilians. A very violent scene occurs, 'your' team ruthlessly takes down every civilian and that is it. Thats what I have read, apparently the scene is very gory and bloody.

Thats all from me.

I saw a clip of that. Here's what I saw:

Just like the first trailer, you find yourself going up in an elevator with 2-3 men. They speak some Russian for a couple of seconds. The elevators stop, doors open, and you find yourself in the Flight Arrival/Departure info area in the airport(the area that has all the monitors with flight departures/arrival info), a bunch of civilians are there, minding their own business. You guys step out of the elevator and open fire to all the civilians in the area. You're using an M240 light machine gun as your primary weapon, and I think a FN SCAR assault rifle as your secondary weapon. You continue through the area, killing every civilian in sight. You can see them hiding, and you can see some running around. There's a part where you see a woman dragging an injured man to safety, and you have to kill them. The harshest part of the mission, IMO.
You do see a lot of blood, like L7 said, but it's not really "gory." You don't see limbs fly off or anything.
I can't wait to see this on FOX News.

What's up with the supposed 3rd person TDM? I thought IW generally ignored TPV, and only used it for spectating.

Sounds like IW took an unneccessary risk in trying to show the true reality in the violence that can take place in such a hostile environment. I'm sure it's an interesting section to play through, but is it worth causing all the fuss? Or infact, is it extremely clever marketing? because we all want things that are a little bit naughty and cause contreversy (<sp?).

Are you actually going to buy this game Drag?

CoD4 is still 55.99$ in most places. :indiff: Wait 5 more years for a price drop. If it happens.

My point exactly, I'll hunt for pre-owned copies in around 6 months to a year to see whats what.

There's a free $20 video game credit available at Amazon, you should check for it's availability in your area and at this time.

Thanks for the tip, I certainly wouldn't use that on MW2 though

It's a $20 credit you gain from buying MW2, which you can then use on a future video game purchase.

And for most games the credit is only $10, so it's a decent deal. 👍

Thats the problem though, I shouldn't be shelling out that much cash period as I've already bought another game recently (I'm at uni and trying to restrain myself). Let alone shell out money for a game I don't really want that much.

Sorry for the crap quote but here is the link with pictures:

Here is a link for a rundown of the multiplayer menu and some 3rd person TDM.

Also, this is actually something some people may not want to see. A list of all the kill streaks, let me tell you that if you can be game enough to put 25 as a kill streak you will kick ASS.
Have you ever had a 25+ killstreak in a Call of Duty game? Well if you do so in Modern Warfare 2 you will be rewarded with a Tactical freaking Nuke! There are plenty of others to chose from just in case you don’t reach 25 too often.
Killstreak Rewards

3 Kills UAV
4 Kills Care Package
4 Kills Counter UAV
5 Kills Sentry Gun
5 Kills Predator Missile
6 Kills Presicion Airstrike
7 Kills Harrier Strike
7 Kills Attack Heli
8 Kills Emergency Airdrop
9 Kills Pave Low
9 Kills Stealth Bomber
11 Kills Chopper Gunner
11 Kills AC-130
15 Kills EMP
25 Kills Tactical Nuke

Wowowowowoow.

Wow. I don't like that
you can get 7 rewards from just killing one person after another.

Those killstreak rewards just ended my positive interest completely, if there was any left. It's just gone to far for me and I'm someone who, judging by previous COD gameplay, would benefit from them massively more then lose out. It will just make games even less close between skilled and casual players, such as shipment, the first to land a airstrike wins, now I sense alot of maps will come down to this bombardment of streak perks constantly, leaving the worse team at a huge disadvantage. I personally think XP rewards would be more beneficial for balance and you'd still want it.

Thats the problem though, I shouldn't be shelling out that much cash period as I've already bought another game recently (I'm at uni and trying to restrain myself). Let alone shell out money for a game I don't really want that much.

Oh ok i thought you just didn't want the game based on price alone, my bad. Yeah if you're not that interested in it obviously don't get it.

I was half interested on the basis that everyone will have it, it was a game I hope I'd like because of that, but every extra information puts me off more and more. If they made a list of things Dragonistic would really dislike to see in the next COD, it would consist of most the things they've added except Spec Ops.

Chernobyl in the open.

I am ready to just see how they modeled it considering how well they did in COD4 modeling Chernobyl.
