Pre ordered the game at Block Buster.

Pre ordered the game at Block Buster.

Same here, got hoodwinked into it after having a healthy fine to pay on some late dvd's. I'll probably pass on the midnight opening opportunity and pick it up on my way back from work on Tuesday.

Will anyone here who is planning on getting MW2 in the near future still be playing MW?

hell yes! I will. Gamestop wont open til 9 or 10am? I have to pick up my pre ordered copy cd there.

I saw a few people said will go to gamestop midnight? That's means they open at 12am or just waiting til open at 10am? crazy!

Just had an e-mail from PLAY.com to say they are not using Royal Mail to send my copy, rather a courier, which means I should be safe from the strike action.

Fingers crossed for a quick dispatch and arrival.

I just had an e-mail from Play.com to say it's actually been dispatched...

Wait, there's Modern Warfare 2...in space? Wut?

Also they re-added Call of Duty back to the title? When did that happen?
First post of the thread.

Ebgames called me up last night and asked me to come to the midnight release. I didnt realise they would do midnight release in a shopping centre. I said I wont, I will pick it up after school on Tuesday.

More related: I'm surprised more people don't have a problem with the map packs issue for the entirely opposite reason.
What?

They have announced DLC months before the game's release date, meaning almost certainly that the DLC in question has already been done for a long while now. Yet Activision being Activision, they probably figured "why include that stuff on the disc when you can charge more for it later?"

Nevermind the general insanity I feel people who buy the things suffer from anyways, because being a PC gamer first and foremost has spoiled me towards developers/publishers actually giving a damn about the gamer.

That was one of my reasons for hating Activision even more, I'm not sure if I bothered to mention it though . The really annoying thing is the DLC will sell like hot cakes to.

Since Call of Duty 4, it's been kind of love/hate for me with them. CoD4 has become my favorite game of all-time. I've said all along that campaign mode alone warrants full price. With the online, it's worth at the very least couple hundred bucks, probably more. But there has been garbage with the franchise, too. "Game of the Year" edition, and Collector's Edition World at War. Total ripoff.

While I'm not fully .......mad, because I think I got my money's worth out of the original copy of CoD4, I really shouldn't cut them any slack for their crap after that, and any upcoming issues like this DLC for MW2. To be totally honest, I hope they do something even more stupid, keep pushing my buttons, so I can quit the game altogether. CoD is so addicting, I'm most definitely better off without it.

Hey guys, you might all ready know this, i found out that the call of duty classic download with hardened & prestige editions will have 12 trophies.

If i had to pick one of thoes it would be either 1, 5, 10

Alright, I believe these arent really a spoiler so here is pictures.

Number 4 looks like one from Cod4, is it prestige 3?
Number 9 also looks like one from CoD4, prestige 8 or 9.

They all look pretty good but to be honest prestige 3 doesnt look as good.

Scaff is a happy bunny, my copy just got sent.

I'm crossing my fingers for a delivery tomorrow (that would be great), but Monday/Tuesday would still do me just fine.

Already?? Lucky... :p

Got my Uk retail copy this afternoon, and rushed through the campaign in one sitting. Really awesome - as soon as I recover, I'll play the online mode right away ( not too much though since I heard the stats will be reset on Tuesday or Monday midnight ).

I regularly go in the MW24/7 forums and someone posted this along with pictures of all the guns. Apparently, they're fake. A lot of members where saying this but I'm not sure.. I'm leaning toward the "they're fake" side. :indiff: When they showed the guns, it said the ACR is a semi-automatic rifle, and that's obviously not true. I've seen the gun in live feeds and in videos and stuff.

That got me going slightly jealous but this:

Makes me want to leave this thread until Tuesday, honestly. I am happy for him but getting it earlier is incredibly unfair, especially considering I preordered way before 3/4's of the people considered it. Can you try not to spoil anything good, just try to keep it at a spoiler level of what has been happening lately.

God damn I am jealous.

I simply don't say anything about the campaign aside from the fact it rocks ! Personally I didn't know anything about the singleplayer mode, I avoided every MW2 news as soon as I read that pirated copies were online. I didn't want to ruin it.

Well it is kinda unfair, I agree. Smaller game dealers ship early, thats my advantage ;)

Although I really hate the fact that the online stats will be reseted on Tuesday, at least that is fair I guess and therefor I can live with it. So the only real advantage is playing the campaign early and maybe a litte practice in multiplayer.
Starting tomorrow morning because I'm way too tired nowl...

I really wouldnt play online early, people on Xbox have been getting banned because their name shows up on the online stats. Even though you own it legally they probably dont know that.

Max, you know you are my boy, but I must disagree with you there, completely! :p You can learn the map, and everything else about the multiplayer mode at the expense of this reset.

Your stats should look really nice, once the true season starts. I'm really jealous, but I'm glad you are enjoying it!

Yeah you can go around the maps on split screen or whatever and own online.

I just didn't want to make you anymore jealous :sly:
Of course you're right, it is an advantage - yet image what would happen if I had the advantage of knowing the maps AND being Level 70 with all perks next Tuesday. Therefor I'd say - yes I have an advantage, but just for a few days.

Yeah you can go around the maps on split screen or whatever and own online.

I can play online, yes, but the question is how much I will. When you know your stats will be deleted it is kind of wasted time...

EDIT : Just started playing online. My resume : AWESOME.

COD4/5 will feel instantly at home. I often read that the game was overloaded and what not, but fact is : It is not. It rocks. Have played three maps so far, again variants from single player campaign, so far I really like the maps and playing the attack choper, predator missiles really feels natural and I love it.
Damn I wish I could play this game more next week, like 10 hours a day, but I think I'll have to cut that down to like 5 hous a day, screw you university :D

Sorry, I instantly closed the browser after posting and went back playing online. I accidently posted the hotlink instead of the thumbnail...
