^I think I'm gonna go crazy with the bling perk.

And has anyone noticed that money sometimes flies out when you are killed in multiplayer? I wonder if it has anything to do with bling, or something special to collect.

I've been relying heavily on AK, lately. Thanks a lot. :lol: M4 hasn't been working for me. Only assault rifles that give me any kind of consistency's AK47 & M16. I love 'em!

I finally preordered the standard copies of MW2 for PS3 & X360. I told the guys at my local Game Stop that I was interested in their midnight launch, but I had never attended one. They were pretty helpful with giving me the rundown: 1) They hand out the numbers at 10pm. 2) At midnight, they start calling several numbers at a time.

From what I understood, you have to be there early for the 10pm, when they are handing out the numbers. So, I'm probably going to have to be there, at the very latest, 9:30pm. Even in the best case scenario, it will take me around 3 hours to get my games.

It's not like I have life or anything, but come on! :lol: I was leaning towards waiting for next day, but now I'm worried that they might not have any left, the next day. At least not at this particular Game Stop. I don't know what I'm gonna do. I don't know.

I found a fun 3rd person domination video. As warning for those who don't want any spoilers, this vid may contain some multiplayer stuff that isn't known yet.

I'm getting the feeling that IW is trying to get the TPS crowd.

I am getting the game on Tuesday after school. I can easily fool the shop as to thinking I am 15. I show them my ID and say that I am 15 and they cant add up for 🤬. I have done it twice :D. I should be able to play it 17 hours after its release in Australia. 5pm on Tuesday, the whole day I am going to be just crapping myself.

Oh, that's what it is. TPS, I had no idea what that was. Even when it was spelled out "third-person view", I didn't get what they meant. :lol:

It's nice that I can now choose between the two views to play. When you are trying to hide to camp, ninja, or snipe, I think it might help more in third-person.

P.S. Awesome video, but is it just me, or did that map remind you of Cliffside from WaW?

I planned on spending two days, when GT4 came out. I felt nothing for that game, barely played it. I'm planning the same 2 day for MW2, but I hope it will turn out differently. At least MW2 didn't delay like a year for release!

Thats not how it works. They are seperate game modes. Third Person TDM, Hardcore TDM and Regular TDM are all different. You cant select two views, you can only select which mode you play. You will see when it comes out.

That sucks! :crazy:

i have been the biggest fan of hardcore mode in CoD:WaW!

Looking forward to the release!

I'm looking forward to tuesday morning ( Midnight launch ) & playing MW2. cant wait.

Well it's a smart move on IW's part to do split the views into separate modes. Third person view has a big advantage over First person when it comes to field of view.

If it weren't separate modes, I can see effigies of IW being burned on the streets by pissed off fans.

MW2 shouldve made artwork look like this for artbox i love PMC Kit or mismatches gears stuff.

Tarnation, i reckon your bout right.

But if everyone can switch views with a press of a button, it's a even playing field. I do see where you are coming from.

My biggest thing I guess would be that this will make the pool of players in certain game mode even smaller, decreasing your odds of getting into games with better connection. I'm sure it will be fine for long time, but from what I've seen in CoD4 lately, regular team deathmatches are losing serious amount of players hardcore team deathmatches. I've seen the number of online players come close to 60(regular tdm)/40(hardcore), all the while you are trying to get matches with decent connection. Not trying to start standard vs hardcore argument here, but I'm just saying that now, it will be split three ways on just the team deathmatches alone. I'm not gonna lie, I can't wait to try out the third-person mode. ;)

Some small time news:

The leaderboards will be reset the day before the launch to make sure there are no unfair advantages for the pirates.
Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Leaderboard before release

The Xbox 360 is trying very hard to kick the PC from it's throne as most pirated platform. The game was pirated and released on the Internet a couple of days back and many (MANY) players have already been playing Modern Warfare 2 almost two weeks before it's official release. A quick search for Modern Warfare 2 on Youtube will give you tons of videos of gameplay, but watch it as some contain massive spoilers.

Now that all those players already got a head start on the rest of us, still waiting for the game to be released, Infintiy Ward will reset all leaderboards to make things fair again:

Source: @fourzerotwo »

@boyle111 It definitely looks like a full leaderboard / level reset is in order just before the release date to ensure no unfair advantages.

Source: @fourzerotwo »

@jeff1315 Why would you assume we wouldn't address that at launch? Of course we'll re-level the playing field at launch.

Planning to join the pirate fleet yourself? Please keep this in mind:

Source: @fourzerotwo »

@fourzerotwo Are you taking down names as you see people not authorized to play the game for future action? Piracy requires punishment.
@Sustainabillity theyre listed on the leaderboards. Logging online with a modded Xbox is like sewing a big red scarlet letter on yourself.

Leaderboards will be reset but I dont think PS3 even has any illegal copies.

For X360 there will be limitations to the Party Chat feature which means you wont be able to play some modes in part chat:
In some multiplayer gametypes you will not be able to game and have an open Party Chat in Modern Warfare 2.
Party Chat Limitations in Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer

In certain multiplayer gametypes/playlists you will not be able to play Modern Warfare 2 while in a Party Chat on the Xbox 360. In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare you could use the Party Chat walk-around/cheat to still give your team heads up when you were shot down (while spectating in 3rd person). Infinity Ward chose to not make this possible in Modern Warfare 2, so they're forcing you to use the game chat channel in most multiplayer gametypes/playlists. This also means you will not be able to speak with a gamer buddy that is playing another game while you play some Modern Warfare 2...

By the looks of it, as shown in the image to the right, you will only be able to use party chat in the following playlists:

* Free-for-all
* 3rd Person Teams
* Mercenary Team Deathmatch

Using the party chat as a part of cheat has never even crossed my mind, as I only play team deathmatches. So now, I can definitely agree & see why they'd partially remove the feature, but why don't I see that available in the regular team deathmatches? :confused:

On PSN, I never use the headset, as it's a bit of pain to deal with the bluetooth headset. But on Xbox, if I'm playing with my buddies, we always use the party chat. This is a bummer. I realize I've been whining a lot lately. Sorry.

Dont worry about it, thats half the reason for discusion, to express your opinion.

Legendary724

May i make a suggestion since you started this thread, how about creating a official list of everyone who has or will be getting MW2 so it everyone knows who has it. It might be helpfull with creating clans or organising matches.

Just a suggestion.

cheers
ENERGIYA

Why not create a GTP Group instead to save Legend, or anyone else, a fair amount of hassle touring the thread for who is and isn't getting it?

Better yet, why not safely assume everyone has it?

Except Dragonistic. ;)

Just checked my status with play.com and my copy is packing right now.

All that remains is for striking posties to bugger up its delivery.

Scaff

I see the seperate thread Energiya so I will occasionaly update my first post with the latest usernames. I will post the first batch next Tuesday.

@Scaff

Who's striking? I'd go with UPS. They've yet to mess up a delivery for me.

I really want to get this game Tuesday, but I don't know if I should be buying another game already...I'm certain it's worth getting...Ugh. Anyone wanna donate money? :lol:

@Scaff

The Royal Mail, the main letter and postal service in the UK (and pretty much monopoly holders on regular door to door post), they are the UK version of the US Postal Service.

Good thing I get paid Friday. Will probably be at my local Gamestop at Midnight as well with no work on Wednesday. :D

An accurate statement I feel. I also feel I'm going to end up deleting people when they attempt to sway my mind/continuely ask if I have it yet or have it :lol:. Chances are, eventually, a long time from now, I will be buying it, but by that time everyone will already be looking forward to the next game from the sequel machine.
