Official MW2 PS3 security patch patch drops tomorrow the 8th.
 
Maybe, but I'm betting this patch will be hacked within a week. Hopefully it'll work but I'm not holding my breath.

I would play if there was another MW2 GTP night.

Yes, we felt pretty invincible with the full six man crew, a few months ago. Yes, we did go undefeated that night, I don't even remember how many matches(40-ish?). But we were actually pretty decent players back then. Couple of weeks ago, we were pretty clumsy, maybe even a short bus crew, man. No joke. :D

I'm actually pretty decent on CoD4 now. Not great, but pretty good. MW2, I'd need some practice!
 
I'm good at anything I play. The only reason I don't play more is that I'm not that competitive anymore.

I think you are full of crap. I don't think you realize how rusty we all are. I'd be all for full crew reunion(vs public, of course), but only if every each one of us pledge to put some time in for conditioning. At least 10 matches! When did you play last?
 
I play combat training and nazi zombies in black ops from time to time. Its all the same and so long as you remember the buttons and how to move around the map you'll be fine. You remember that night you and I played COD4? I hadn't played cod4 in over a year at least but I was still putting up 20+ kill games right out of the box.
 
I don't remember that, but I believe you. But weren't you consistently getting over 25 deaths? j/k

All this talk does pump me up a little bit. We need to go get the other four. Cody, Brett & Rabby would be interested, I'm sure. Forza, he might require some arm twisting. :p
 
Not necessarily true! High k/d is always good. Always. You know I'm a firm believer in that.


But some of the best players I liked playing with were high kill/somewhat high deaths players. They just keep the opposing teams on its heels, which in turn abled me to rake in the easy ..... or cheap kills. Teamed with the right set of players, they can drive it home, every, single, game!
 
It's less about the K/D and more about not giving the other team kill streaks. A high K/D is the only thing thats important in games like TDM and FFA but I still think its important in all games because you can't do anything with constant enemy kill streaks coming in.
 
I guess that is true in MW2, though high k/d leads to what you are saying: More kill streak for your team, less for theirs.

Another reason why I prefer CoD4 these days. Killstreak won't decide the game, most cases.
 
High K/D is a bi-product of my strategy. I don't mind dying so long as I always get my kill streaks up first and I don't die over and over going for something like an objective or a camper.

It was not quite as bad as you thought it was. In Public matches, especially with six of us and none of us not really playing recently, the GTP crew would still likely win the vast majority of matches. As a group, we play well together and the semi-coordination of our group, is much too great for most public groups to overcome.

With that said, my skills were a bit all over the place. :lol:

You realize this crap is like riding a bike. I hadn't played anything FPS on my PS3 in a good half year easily. Superior tactics and awareness trump raw reflex in almost all situations. Its why we often prevailed because we would exploit cover, positions, and so forth rather than all running around like idiots.

Not to mention this also. Awareness, cover, and positioning skills do not really fade. Reflexes and the ability to aim can and do, but those mostly come back fairly quick.
 
Well, I don't doubt that we'd win majority of matches. With the right match ups, we should go perfect. I don't know about you guys, but I sure felt that we were pretty invincible during our streak though. Even really good teams, they could not overcome our collective effort.

My buddy on XBL says that he & his clan went up against pro players(not sure what that means, exactly). Maybe in some league matches or something? They won.

With how we had the kill streaks coordinated and everything, that's how good I felt we were. We'd have held our own against some hard hittin'....... teams. And TA & I didn't even have speedy internet!

P.S. I was playing some CoD4, and I went up against somebody who had ridiculous skills. On Downpour, I usually go for a big game. At least 20. Not only my team was horrible, I was held to 11-10. Only positive score on my team. This one guy just kept on finding me anywhere. One shot, one kill. Saw the replays, and couldn't believe how fast he was. :eek:
 
I'm pretty sure I'd pull host most games if we did it again. I'd kinda like to see how much better I am at the game now that I'm not on a **** connection all the time.
 
This has probably been discussed here before but, has anyone been "infected"?
 
Most of us are smart enough to use protection when it comes down to that...
 
I have been, many times. :O I don't think it does anything, except it will give you a title for it.
 
They track that sort of thing on Oregon? :scared:

In Modern Warfare 2, silly! I did read your post about the March 8th update. I might give it a shot later this week. Thanks for the heads up. 👍

Edit: I ended up popping the game in. First game, MVP(26-6). I like to say that I was awesome, but it was more along the line of others were even rustier. :lol:

Played a few with my new(er) online CoD buddy, Dave. I did OK, Dave was kicking everybody's butt, at least twice. :lol:

Good news. I think I might have played for about an hour, and I didn't see one hacked lobby. 👍
 
I'll have to check it out. I wouldn't get to excited though I'm sure it'll be hacked in a few hours.
 
So I haven't downloaded the patch yet but would you guys like to shoot for a friday or saturday pub stomping night?
