Our PS3 cod4 thread was very big and 360 users came over to it so now this thread has all users in it. It doesnt matter, same stuff different console. We dont really have a good enough section for these threads anyway.


So far, my connection has failed the new joining thing. It says 7/25 good servers found, 25% complete. It then joins 1 out of 7 and finds it is a bad connection. I think it is just cause of my download though. I didnt bother playing online after a few disconnects so I am now up to the airport mission on SP. I wont play it for another 30 mins (break). Let me say that the first two actual missions are amazing, especially cliff hanger.

Yeah, when you click on Multiplayer before Campaign it says something like we strongly recommend you play campaign first.
 
Damn why am i last to play this game :(

I wasnt trying to seperate 360 vs PS3 just wondered why everyone posts in the PS3 section!

Think im gonna go ahead and complete the campaign on veteran 1st before i go online !

This is pretty tight. I don't know what the heck I'm doing, but other people are worse. :lol: I think I've figured out the "care pkg" now. I've also gotten my first Raptor kill-streak reward, and actually hit someone with it!

I was gonna practice more on my dummy account(GTP_a6m5 :p), but I think I'm just gonna go ahead to my main already. Maybe Xbox tomorrow.

Could you guys also maybe create a post of the best way you chat to each other. e.g. team speak or just through the PS3 or any other suggestions.
 
Allllrighty, I have had an excellent dosage of online awesomeness. I am now level 8 or 9 with some fine guns. I have had a maximum of 6 kill streak. That is because EVERY server I join is 1 or 2 bars BUT here is the thing. Lag in this game basically doesnt even exist. I can have 1 bar and instead of shooting infront of them I can shoot them on my game and it will still count but with a very small delay. So think GTA IV, no matter how much lag, if you hit them, you hit them with varying time delay. It is very good and I like it. The maps are pretty easy to navigate once you have done them for over 10 minutes, it will take weeks to find good hiding spots but to find your way around is easy.

I have noticed that scrap yard pops up frequently when I play, does that happen to any of you? Im off for the night so see you 3 pages later in 10 ours guys.
 
LMG Pwns in this game. I also like the M4. K/D is pretty consistent to my numbers in CoD4, so far. No matches as big, no matches as bad. It sort of evens out.

So far, I don't like FAMAS. It feels like a M16 without the stopping power. Not sure what to make of Barret. It feels so familiar, just until I don't get the one shot, one kill. Maybe it's the invisible lag. :D
 
Level 15 with a K/D ratio of 0.98. I still dont get the point of that care pkg thing?
I had a match where some guy was level 65 already!!! and got a kill streak of 25 i suppose cause he nuked the game :D that was so awesome :D

I've been getting random stuff with the care package. What I've gathered on that reward so far: 1) throw the smoke thing at where you want the package to land. 2) go get it, then I think hold "x". 3) random reward.

Not picked up my copy yet, but not sure what to think of the care package thing. Sounds a bit like the game 'Worms' to me :odd: - can you get exploding sheep?
 
Anyone else not getting trophies they ought? I just ran the Pit in 29.0s, no trophy (despite the trophy being for sub-30s times) :(

Trophies are glitched , I got 2 yesterday and no more after that .. Some say you need to delete the patch for them to work properly.. and then install the patch again if you want to play online..

Just got my copy during lunch break... Now 3.5 more hours til I can enjoy the shooting action.... :ouch::ouch:
 
I just didn't get the one for the first two missions completed on Veteran either. Grrr.

Very pretty game. Though the "you've just been hit" graphic is a bit distracting - you can't see through it to return fire..
 
Well i picked my copy up at 1pm ! Went up to my mates for lunch to try it out.

We played Co-op mode - cant remember the name of the level but we were on a bridge and the first part had the enemys swinging onto the main part of the bridge, chose myself a sniper and a p90 - and went to work on the enemys.

Second part of the level we had to take down a helicopter and then fight through more enemys after the bridge had colapsed in the centre. We done it on hardened but on veteran we were killed not long after bringing down the chopper !!

Played very little but definately not disappointed - cannot wait to get home !!
 
No doubt the Cod4 servers will be quiet tonight. It looked to be double kill points last night too.

I really like that the M4A1 is the flattop variety. Some of the guns in this game are just ridiculous, and I'm only a couple levels into the campaign. The FAL with shotgun attachment (:dopey:) and also the SCAR with a shotgun and ACOG attachments...If the shotgun attachment is available online I can definitely see it being useful, at least for hardcore mode.

I picked up a riot shield in the mission you can choose to skip. On your own, it seems pretty worthless to try using, unless you were maybe trying to get a guy camping in a building or something and could avoid the shots that way. Otherwise, maybe with some careful coordination one or two guys could use riot shields to help block other guys.

Anyway, enough GTP. Off to work on Campaign some more. :D:tup:
 
All I can say is that the campaign isn't ending here. Nice twist should lead to an interesting sequel should IW keep going.

My friend got there at 7 this morning and joined the queue over 100 people were at Chelmsford sainsbury's im not even awake by then I shall be getting my copy when I get some money. By the way he got his for 20 pounds his sister works there.
 
Bought the hardened edition for the PS3 while my boss bought the standard 360 version. Man I love my job! Can't wait to get home and play đź‘Ť

Got mine at lunch today... a small line up of around 6 people.

... maybe it was so small because I was wearing my ghillie suit and crawling around on the floor the whole time.
 
The care pkg is actually alright. It has given me one load of ammo when I had 20 bullets left and it has given me two predator missiles. It is simple to use, throw it, hide and wait, check for enemies and if any are getting it kill them or take it yourself. When it says enemy care package is dropping, if you are anywhere near it this is what I did last night:
I waited till I thought it was just about to drop, cooked a nade and threw it just after the thing dropped and I got two kills.
 
Probably picking up my copy this evening. Not sure just when I'll start playing it, got some work I want to get done before I get caught up in the game. My PSN is over in the PS3 MW2 soldiers thread, feel free to add me if you want. I'm just a casual gamer, pretty average most of the time but I do have great games and horrible ones. I'm not likely to be burning up the leaderboards though that's for sure.

Moving along, I've discovered something else badly broken besides the trophy fail. Party building online. There's about 7 of of us exchanging invites tonight and not one of us has got into another's party or game - "the game is no longer valid".

Both on Xbox and PS3, so many players on my friends list were on MW2, it was just ridiculous. I've never seen anything like it. It was something like at least half of the friends online. And Dragonistic, I know you are not feeling up to it, but you should try it out. Everyone I've talked to has at the very least liked this game, so far. Granted, it is maybe.... arcadey? It's just too easy, even for average player like me. But trust me, at least rent it. Odds are real good that it'll be worth a purchase.

So you are Ebiggs. :D I had you on my PSN friends list forever, you are on all the time, too. Did you name used to be Ebiggs? Maybe that's what confused me.....

I've played just the beginning of the campaign mode, where you shoot the targets. Let us know your take on the multiplayer, but I think we already know how you'll feel about the online. :D

I've been getting killed, probably over 60, 70% of the time after getting the care package. This strategy called 'hiding' has never occurred to me. Good idea. Too bad I learn slow. :ouch:
