I just got the thermal scope for the .50 cal the other day. Guess I'll have to take FMJ off. I like the gun other than that issue.

Wait, I just read that and I use the Barret FMJ, thats sooo lame.

EDIT: Just crushed an enemy in S and D on scrapyard with my carepackage, I was about to die so I called it in under me and when the enemy knifed me it crushed him.

They really need to make the air support a little harder to shoot down, one shot and the harrier is toast, thats just lame. Ok, rant over, in joy your day/night mates.

I think it's fair, keeps things interesting as you have to toss up whether to go for a quick but definate airstrike or a more lingering reward like a chopper which is likely to be shot down. The harrier for example is probably the easiest to shoot down, but it can tear up pretty badly and takes out enemy air support to balance it out. Then the AC130 V chopper gunner debate is made most interesting by the amount of flares they have, the AC130 provides a more reliable but often less rewarding compared to the masses of kills the chopper can rack up. For this reason most nuke chasers use the chopper whereas I often use the AC130 because it's so much more difficult to get down and it just worked in my last game. My harrier got pwned after the initial airstrike got just 2 (another plus from the harrier despite easily being shot down) then when I dropped the AC130 I got my final 105mm round off just as it got shot down to get me a triple kill bringing me to exactly 25.

It's a little irritating when your streak gets shot down, especially for those who don't get them often, but we all know how dominating air support can be if it's allowed freedom to kill. If those guys trying to shoot my AC130 had been smart enough to use cold blooded, I would've never got that nuke and I still only did barely, when my team was losing 120-160 as well. I think it's firm but fair, the risk of using a harrier is outweighed by the huge gain you could possibly receive, the lower rewards like UAV are much safer, the most powerful are instant targets.

I put FMJ on my Barret .50 cal and it seems less powerful.

Yep. And on all sniper rifles FMJ actually makes them less penetrative. You can put any sniper rifle round, non-FMJed, straight through the bunker walls on Afghan. Not with FMJ though.

Has anyone got the hang of/or tried Quick Scoping yet? I've just started it for fun the last few games and I'm noticing some considerable win is involved, I'm getting far more headshots and picking off way more moving targets now. Although I am still missing often so I could do with more practice and tips.

Quick scoping is fairly easy, best set-up for me is the intervention with acog, sleight of hand pro, stopping power pro, steady aim pro. Just get the target in the middle of the four cross hairs on the screen then a split before it zooms all the way in fire and you will end up firing with it full scoped but quickly and accurate. The acog and sleight of hand pro make it look down the barrel super fast. I really never use my snipers anymore though, just got boring to me.

Plus there was a little 🤬 camping my TI flare, and not because he killed me. He just sat there waiting for the owner to die.

I just had the most unbelievable double kill on Rust. I killed the same guy twice, with one bullet. He was getting close to me as I shot him with the 50.cal and I can only presume he re-spawned right in the corner because he went down instantly again.

I wish there was a challenge for that!

Haha. I actually have a class I used for a while that used "noobish" stuff - Scrambler Pro and Heartbeat Sensor on a Famas, combined with scavenger, stopping power, and claymores. Used it as a relatively defensive setup, with the Scrambler luring people in and the HBS giving me some idea where they were in my area. As much psychological as anything else, probably drove people crazy because I'd generally manage a KD of 4 or so with it on choice maps I used it on.

But yes, the vast majority of HBS users are so dependent on it that it hurts them more than helps them, based on spectating people in SnD and HC.

I use a near identical setup to breakpoint's except with the 50.cal instead of the intervention. Contrary to some Youtube videos that suggest Quick scoping works better with Regular sights I'm finding it much easier and profitable with ACOG sights.

That's what I thought but I got the double kill points and everything, his name came up twice on the kill list too, instantly. My mind was blown.

Oh My God, Spawn points must be sorted out soon, so often I keep getting respawned right in the middle of the enemy or in a stupid location such as the same alleyway I was killed on only moments before, and right in front of the guy that just killed me. The amount of times I've been spawn killed because of these ridiculous spawns is beyond a joke now, I'm just getting so pissed off lately.

I'm not a fan of the battlefield series at all, and I gave it 2 hours of chances to change my mind and it just can't. Its really annoying cause I spawn and then start to move towards the objective and within 20 seconds bam I get hit by a sniper every single freaking time. I hit lvl 70 today on MW2 and I'm loving the AK-47! I just got the red dot and put it on and it seems to make the recoil stronger and make it less accurate, weird. I know on cod4 the red dot on the ak made it way more accurate. Anyone have any info on the ak in mw2 and attatchments doing certain things on it? I also remember on cod4 when you put the red dot on it decreased the power of it, hope there's no glitches like that this time around. As soon as I get my last 40 head shots for my scar (that will complete every single challenge for it!) I am doing the ak and then moving on to the next gun until I have all guns completed, even if I don't like the gun I'm doing it.


@ss: only time I have spawning problems like that is when I'm in free for all, and I don't play it much because of the chaos in it. I like having a team and choke points and such, a little structure and planning instead of chaotically running around and spawning inside someone....

Hmmm, I'm playing Ground War so I should spawn with the rest of my team but for a period in the match I just spawn right near the enemy, completely detached from my team-mates (like other side of the map detached). No idea why but it usually results in my dying 5 or 6 times in a very short space of time, before finally my team work there way to my location. Very Frustrating and makes each match feel like I've done terrible, even though I usually still finish with at least even K/D. I don't even know why it's started happening just recently either, I've never had such problems before.

I've been using the ak47 for quite a while now (600+ headshots).
Never really liked the red dot or any other sight on it like you said because of the recoil on it. Just been using the iron sights and for my run and gun setup it's really good.

I had opposite experience with the AK47. I told Solid Lifters before, but for me, AK was nearly useless without the red dot. After adding red dot, fairly reasonable rifle, OK on accuracy. Either way, nowhere near the beast it was in CoD4, just like the M16. DAMN shame.

I have changed my killstreak rewards lately to som effect. I was using UAV/Care package/Harriers. I ditched the Care package for the Pred missile and its paid off. My previous highest killstreak was 9, but now that I actually get to my harriers more often I got it up to 12

Nice. 👍 For me, 5-7-9(Predator, Harrier, Pave Low) works pretty effectively. When I had the good game last night(yesterday morning ) on Favela, that's what I was talking about. Also helped the other team were mostly crap!

I want to say it was 25 kills, and very few deaths. But it was mostly my killstreaks that did the work. I think only about 10 - 12 of those were my kills.

That one Domination game on Derail was pretty awesome. We came in and were down by like 100 points, and so we took all the flags and held them the rest of the game.

LOL! I'm Forza. I should contact a mod about maybe getting my GTP name changed to match my PSN to make it easy. I swear it has nothing to do with the XBox game, honest.

That was insane. I think I secured like 2 objectives and had 2 or 3 kills, and less than 500 total points for the match. I don't think I've ever been in a match where I had nothing to do. I kept an eye on A and ran around between it and B and there was no one around.

I'll probably be on in a bit. I have zero interest in the Super Bowl. I despise the NFL in all honesty, but that's for another forum section.

I apologize for my "domination" games. I'm pretty much playing TDMs, though I was able to help out little bit by defending flags.

I killed it tonight with a strange set up. I had my typical running class set up, sub machine with marathon pro, lightweight pro, ninja pro, BUT for my secondaries instead of my typical shotgun I put on akimbo raffica's. I wasn't a fan of the raffica's but when they are akimbo and you can run like that with them they just freaking destroy. Now of course if you get caught at a distance or something like that you will get taken down because you can't aim that well, but at semi close range lets say a map like favela, domination with these little guys is what you get. If you haven't tried it out give it a go, I'm just getting tired of the same old set ups so I'm switching it up a bit with odd guns and odd kill streak rewards. All night I have had 3,4,5 kill streaks instead of my usual harrier, pave low, chopper gunner. Whats funny is I have been actually been doing better for some reason without them. My typical games tonight were me hovering around 30 kills and less than 5 deaths. One match in HC Headquarters I was something like 54 and 3, that was with the AK, hardline pro, steady aim pro, sleight of hand pro. Trying to get all my sitrep things done but its taking forever! Half way done with those and after than all my perks are done! I'm doing the sitrep in HC since most people use claymores in it.

You'll see way more Claymores in HC TDM than Core. You'll also find more in FFA than normal TDM games. You just trying to Pro it or going for the full 750 claymores ?
