I can do it without spinning, thats not to say I still don't spin, but its rare.

Yeah, no problem for me - any car, alway pushing hard
- except x1 then it will be a bit hard to stay on track....

I'm pretty close to bein clean around it all. I used to be pretty wore out after a quick lap, back when I was first learning the course with my g27.

Yes.

I'll tell you what really helped me alot. The Nurb. special events. You spend time with different cars and only concentrate on a small part of the track at a time. If you do it enough, you memorize the track pretty quick. I knew it from previous GT's but I ALMOST perfected it because of the special events.

You should also try to get used to it in a 4wd car. You have alot more control. Get used to driving the course without spinning out. So don't really push for time as much as trying to TAKE YOUR TIME and score consecutive clean laps. 👍

I haven't got a clean lap in a Yellow Bird yet though. :indiff:

I can proudly say that I can do a clean lap of the Nurb in a Yellow Bird, full stock, no aids (ABS 1) on Sports Hard tyres. Lots of concentration is required.

Time: 8:05.938

How the hell this guy do it under 8mins? He must be a driving god.

We'll just leave that to different tyre types shall we? There is a heap more time to gain, I'll try it again later today.

EDIT: After watching that whole video, the driver is clearly not human. He is an Alien from a distant galaxy sent here to dominate our race tracks in undriveable cars.

:lol::lol::lol: You got me there!

Good job on completing it with the Yellowbird! 👍

I gave up on that car all together. My problem with it is that it seems that it doesn't handle the same all the time. Sometimes I will have no problem on a certain part of a track, and then the next time, it completely gets away from me. If a car has heavy oversteer, then I can usually get used to it and correct accordingly, but that piece of 🤬, it seems to act however it wants to whenever it wants to.

RUF Yellowbird, comfort hard tyres, full race pace. You keep it clean with that combo, you can call yourself accomplished at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Would this be considered the real life equivalent of going around the 'Ring in the Yellowbird?

Speaking of the Yellowbird (and I'll never get tired of sharing this): watch GTAcademy champion Bryan tame it back in GT4 in under 8min on that game's worst tires.

:D

I can do a clean lap 95% of the time in anything slower than prototypes. Using the 'Ring as my main playground since GT4 means that I can do a lap without really paying attention anymore: it originally seemed impossible that I'd ever remember every turn, but sure enough, endless runs of Mission 34 helped. I can carry on a conversation with someone in the room and not see much of an effect. It's... Almost sad, really!

My suggestion, beyond the AMG challenges, is to take a NASCAR vehicle there on SH tires. You will learn throttle control in no time!

It's one of them thing's that you just have to do. You are pleased just to make it 30 seconds in without crashing.

The corners keep moving, I swear...

And I can't even get the Yellowbird around Deep Forest without having a huge accident

soften ye springs, and raise ye rideheights somewhat, for a great time around safely. Turn the driving line off, and make your own mental braking zones, take it from there.

My making it round the ring depends entirely on how hard I'm pushing the car. I know the track well. I can drive it smoothly without incident. But trying to push a car to the limit my skill does fail me on occasion. She is a beautiful and terrible mistress. There is only one way to come to know her, hundreds of laps.

The only car in my garage I can't manage a clean lap with is the Cobra. I can barely keep it clean around Grand Valley.

That one and the Yellow Bird. Even the AI can't make a clean lap in that beast.

I just did four laps with the Yellow Bird. That car surely has character all its own. Lap four was fairly tidy and quick but I dipped a wheel through Galgenkopf and lost a second trying not to die. The car is fun once you get a feel for keeping it balanced. Although even then the smallest mistake can end in tears.

That sub eight minute GT4 run on pizza cutters is just plain ridiculous.

And the Yellowbird drifting around the Nordschleife video, for that I got no words

Unless it's a poorly setup car, I can do lap after lap without any major mistakes. I might put a wheel off every now and then, but my lap times are usually within 3 seconds of each other. I'm probably not the fastest out there, but I'm pretty consistant. This is with a DFGT mind you, DS3 is a whole 'nother ballgame.

just toke the GT-R Spec-V 09 fully tuned out of the Garage , and got a 6'07.xxx . NOT BAD !
Gonna try the Black Edition soon !

EDIT:With no Aids!

There are some tricky spots at the ring. Once you know them, you will be able to complete laps without crashing ^^

The ring takes a while to learn due to its massive size, doing the 4 hour endurance race soon had me up to scratch on it, amazing track!

What are the spec of that car fully tuned? hp, torque etc.. :)

I'd hazard a guess of around 850-860bhp, if it's a fully tuned SpecV...torque it around the 70-80kgfm mark but I'm not sure

I'm currently running my rather special SLR McLaren around the 'Ring right now trying to set a flawless lap. Hard to control 945bhp and 118kgfm on any tyres ;)

6:07, that seems bloody quick for a GT-R. My 550hp Mine's R-35 replica runs almost a minute slower on sport tyres. And my fastest time with the Audi R10 TDI was 6:27.825 on race hards. That SpecV must be a monster. I may just have to build one of my own.

I did 6:07 with a fully tuned GT-R '07, but theres not much room for errors at that pace, i was wondering if it was lighter and more powerful, and it was funny he did the same time i did...

After seeing that I had to give it a go myself. Couldn't even get near under 8 minutes though.
