I think everyone should calm down, we don't know what the rims are even going to be.

I bet the standard car photo thread will explode next week LOL.

I do like this addition, however they incorporate it. I would love to be able to paint the stock wheels too, but since we can't with the Premiums, I doubt we will be able to on standards.

My 9 1970 Hakosuka GT-R's are going to be the first to get them :).

+1
My 240z and my Skyline GTS25 that I use to drift

This literally opens up 800 cars for use!

I use the standard cars faithfully, now with the ability to change the wheels I feel like I got another 800 cars. I did not expect this I'm very excited.

We seriously need some insider pictures of what the rims will look like. Please PD ^_^

I'm actually kinda jerked that I know this. I've only known for some 6 hours or so and it feels like it's been a week since I've heard. I'm so excited, this is going to be the longest wait ever. I wish they'd push it out early. I'm more excited for this one feature in this one patch than I've been for some of the whole games I've been excited for.

I don't know where I'm going to start, but it's gonna be fun finding out.
I may start with Cobra R. I want stock looking rims.....5 spoke almost mag looking, but they are too dark. I want them brighter, I may even go white if I can paint them. And I'm going to repaint the car Flourescent Red.

FINALLY!

I wonder how this will look though...I mean, will there be premium rims on standard cars?

I'd guess premium as the spoilers that we can add to standards are technically "premium" quality so I could see the rims being the same way, thats just a guess though.

Indeed. This is great news. I have so many cars I am going to change the wheels on.👍

I hope they have something like they did in GT4, Cobra R's on my 2005 Mustang? Yes please! OOhhh R's on a shelby would be nice too!

Supra, 330i, 190 evo, c4 corvettes, and all of the classic muscle.

i paint new rims on my bugatti make it look like the SS version

If my intuition is right on how this will work (read my previous post) then my Golf GTi Mk1 will finally have the GNX's wheels. Damn it looked so awesome in GT4 with those wheels!

Agreed! Those looked good on several cars.

Of course this is assuming we're getting cross-vehicle wheel swaps. I'm only expecting premium wheels, or standardized premium wheels. If that makes any sense.

1970 datsun blue bird coupe, such a sick looking old school drifter begging for some mesh wheels. like i had in GT4...it looked so sick.

71 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG-off with the hubcaps!

Just saw this...

And totally agree! I saw one pop up in the used car dealer tonight in a beautiful red color. I was going to pass on it like usual because of the hub caps, then I remembered that we'll be able to change them next week.

So I bought it. :dopey:

As mentioned elsewhere by someone else, I'm actually trying to forget about this, just because I was so used to GT4's awesome setup, that even if we get the techincally "better" Premium wheel selection currently in GT5 for the Standards, I'd lament the lack of the awesome Today's Special section in GT4. Nine times out of ten that was my choice for rims - something just felt more right using a same-manufacturer (or at least, related manufacturer) rim on a car. Plus one slightly frustrating thing - buying racing tires in GT4 increased your rim size, but without the ability to do so in GT5, a lot of Standards will still look sort of strange on aftermarket rims with stock rim size.

Either way, setting some time aside on the 20th to revisit a few of my favourites in my garage wouldn't hurt...

Will have to see if there are any deep dish alloys for my 98 mini cooper.

My current mini is shod with a set of ultralight 7x13 deep dish, they have destroyed the handling but look so good.

Dude! the Isuzu Bellet wheels and GNX wheels were always my favorites! I also used the Lancia Stratos wheels on old cars. They looked great.

Definitely the Supra RZ! Been wanting this a long time. The 2000 body style camaros come to mind too. And the veyron! The RUF's...so excited. This was one of my biggest hopes.

I have a scroll of a list for standard cars to put rims on, but the one that I can't get off my mind is the 180sx .....Formula Red with the gold/polished lip BBS RM's..... :D

definately the 300C,black on black will look sweet!,also some wrx's and evo's in my fave list.
