I think some people just post here to annoy honda fans, why bother posting in here if you are going to write something as wrong as this not to mention trying to start an argument???
Geez, calm down, I've already made several constructive contributions to this very thread. I'm certainly not a Honda guy, but I consider their cars to be very reliable, practical, economical, decent-handling machines, and I really like the NSX, S2000, and the old S cars (because they actually put the power to the
correct wheels

).
Anyway...
Dumbass highschoolers with fart cans
"Aw man, I'll kick your ass as soon as VTEC KICKS IN!!"
"The Mustang is useless, it's a non-turbo, but it doesn't have VTEC!"
"Dude, does your Accord have VTEC??" "No." "Aw man your car blows!"
Overrated by many teenage drivers? Yes.
VTEC = (Variable) Valve Timing Electronic Control = Variable valve timing
Variable valve timing = VANOS (BMW) = VVL (Nissan) = VVT(L)-i (Toyota) = Variocam (Porsche) = MIVEC (Mitsubishi) = etc.
Some systems feature lift, some don't, and VTEC features lift, if I recall correctly. However, claiming that VTEC is completely different from an ordinary variable valve timing system is like claiming that an LSD-equipped car is completely different from a car without LSD. It's still the same car, and it still puts power to the same wheels.
VTEC is just a typical variable valve timing system.
Thus, VTEC is just an ordinary variable valve timing system that is horribly overrated by teenage Honda drivers. I don't see how you're offended by this.
