I was REALY dissapointed when i realised there is no sedan of any civic varient in the whole of GT4!!!.. i was like 👎 .. i couldnt believe this, especially due to its popularity, im a huge honda fan and got all teary over this ;_;.

Another thing that ive noticed is that when you open up the Driving park menu there are many Honda Civic RS's lined up in the background. Now this is a sedan, but can we access them?.. this is so stupid if you cant, its as if PD is teasing us somehow, with their little mind games.

Is there any other dissapointed fans out there? Is their other models that you loved and were dropped in the making of the new GT?

ok if you want your civic hatch to handle like a sedan put a huge frikin wing on the back. this is THE best upgrade for a honda. Don't believe me just ask any honda driver and they will all say GET A WING. the only exception is the s2000. Any honda lover can tell you since the s2000 is a rear wheel drive the wing will have no effect. :dunce:

Shut the **** up if you have nothing interesting or constructive to say, you idiot. It's a valid question, since PD have included the image of the Civic Sedan in the game, they ought to have put it in. It's not my favorite car, either, but I don't go bashing every Civic lover out there.

It would be akin to having the GT40 on the front of the box and only having Mustangs to play with.

Ok i dont think the guy was bashing at civic lovers, he was only letting you know putting a wing on the hatch is good and makes it handle like the sedan slightly, i wouldnt have said this myself as i dont agree with that, but i dont understand why you are saying or comparing the Civic sedan to the GT40 and the Civic Hatch to the Mustang im sorry but if you have drove a hatch its faster than the sedan. 👍

Sigh... he was being sarcastic. What I meant is what I said... having a car pictured in the game without having it playable is a major offense... no matter what car it is.

Guys, are we still on this topic about not having sedans in GT4? *slaps forehead* Cmon, get over it already...grow up....just enjoy the game as it is. Hopefully the next installment will include the sedans and many other cars that fans like.

Now for the topic of the sedans and wings. Yes, it may be true that putting a wing may make it handle like a sedan in the game. But the point is that the weight distribution is dractically different. In fact, the reasons Japanese FF derived touring cars are sedans are because of the longer wheelbase (therefore more stable with slicks and rear camber) and the weight distrbution that makes it less twitchy and unflickable than a hatch. Yes, it is more difficult to get a longer, heavier sedan through a twisty track than a hot hatch, but that is a catagory nontheless.

Im a pretty big fan of GT4 and Civics all around. And i think it is unfair how some of you guys gain up on SP33 for likeing the civics, i think its quite ridiculous (i cant spell) how PD has all these faggot peguot and renualt cars that are worthless, and all these RX-7's with R-S, RZ, type R and all this crap, but they cant have a simple Honda civic Sedan in the game.

thats kinda stupid . i think that they missed alot of good cars, that everyone likes, and instead they waste thier space with meaningless powerless 80's cars.

Its a look thing, i dont particularly like the look of the hatch all that much, the sedan is much more proportioned, then theres the coupe, what a top little thing it is. I couldnt give a dam how it handled i just want it to look descent.

Great pic from fastcatsi, thats realy awesomeo, your making me jealous. 👍 Is it standard? Where do you race it at? *notices number on the side*.. Ive heard the coupes are great tourers.

Hear hear about sedan/coupe handling. I definitely prefer driving FF Sedans over the twitchy hatchback versions. Tire wear and slipping is definitely more gradual.

Rear wheel drive is still better, but some FF cars are good enough to *almost* make you forget. :D

well im sick of every kid that i meet with a honda slappin these chessey aftermarket products on their car racin around in traffic revin their engines at me like they got somethin to prove. and on top off that they call the crap custom.. you don't order custom. maybe some of these people watched "the fast and the furious" (a movie i liked) and thought their honda can do that too. It's not a race car. and the hondas that are race cars are different. pro race cars are not the economy version with thousands of dollars worth of upgrades on them. i know one guy that has a nice little civic lowered, rims ... whatever, he drives it nice. and his car looks clean not excessive.

sorry for sterotyping people but when i find a decent group of people that actually love their honda and don't think "the bigger the tach the faster the car" i'll acknowledge them.

fastcatsi probally knows better than any of us that you can race a honda but they're not race cars. when you get to a certian level you need to stop throwing money into your car and get a track car.

and i would buy one because they are excellent get around cars, not because of the surplus of aftermarket parts available. which makes me wonder why some people are really buying these cars. IS it for transportation or to look cool and race it.

As for the question why was it not in the game. well pd knew there was a game out there for honda lovers already. it's called n4su ... and the best cars in the game are not even hondas

lol.. sorry that last part was a joke to get your blood boilin..and im sure some one will quote that in anger!!
what I do question is pd choosing the honda models they did?

*lets blood simmer for a while*. This is very similar to saying that every driver of a ute is either a B'n'S baller or some redneck slob... Dont catigorise drivers because of some tool who thinks that putting a park bench on the back of their car is cool or 'Fully sic'n'hectic mate'. Then theres the fact that you came online and started telling people who you dont even know (well some you may... but me you dont) and get angry because we like the same car that you saw at the supermarket?.. i mean realy...

ya i did comment in haste. but in my neck of the woods i see a lot of people who say they appreciate automobiles. but lack the true definition of appreciation. Sometimes it seems like only the old timers have heart.

fastcatsi: how much money did you pump into your car to be able to perform on that 3 mile track at the level that it did ? I'm just wondering because i thought i saw something about being able to spend less money on different a car and get more performance out of it. If this is true what else is it that makes a honda good for performance? anyone?

Lol We call those people ricers around here except they drive cavaliers, dodge neons, ford focus and some hondas and most of them have bodykits.

Their insane redlines, nimble'ness, easy access to parts, nice torque curves.....

Hondas arent straight line machines, none of them are. Where a honda finds its glory is in the corner, anyone can make a car go fast in a straight line, but hondas are the few that get the corner formula right.

hmm.. :ouch: ...monster tach? Let me hide mine... :dopey: ...but seriously, only every fifth honda owner I know has a monster tach... and no... the spoiler won't make it handle like a sedan!... ...okay, hehe...

As for PD's honda line-up... seems like they put almost everything else in there. I'm pretty sore there's no 300hp Acura AWD sedan, but hey, I'm a Mazda driver, why am I complaining?

who are we kidding hondas dont even have torque, infact if they did then fwd is married to torque steer.

sorry if you want to build a perfect auto cross car, that can also drift.
dont look at ANY FWD type cars.

I can see that many of us here are true Honda fans. Namely SP33, Fasticiti to name a few. Away from the FF Civics and Integras for the moment. As FR and MR cars, namely the S2000, NSX and Beat, these Hondas have also achieved a status amongst other FR and MR cars of other Japanese or even European makes.

The engineering driven philosophy that drives Honda Motors to create products that they are sure WILL do well in the market speaks volumes about its approach to the consumer market. Even if they are less powerful than their rivals (ie. Silvia, Supra, Skyline, RX-7, Z350) hundreds of automotive publications hold the S2000 and even the outdated NSX with high accolades.

Hondas are truly engineering to give the driver an experience of total driving balance and excitment. Details such as steering feel, suspension feedback, gear shift feel, ergonomics and most of all engine acoustics, create a special feeling the first time someone drives a Honda. Even a economy model like a Civic VTi does feel different from a Corolla and Sunny. I am comparing Apples and Apples and not with higher end models and Euro cars.

Not really. But if you take the short cut, goodbye clutch.

when alot of money is used

Not at all, out here, it's easy to build a scrapyard Honda track car for less than the cost to buy a secondhand RWD car of the same vintage. And small Hondas ARE nimble out of the box.

Depends on who you know.

Actually, this last is true. Nissans are FWD cars with a lot of torque, and its an eternal bugbear for modified SR20s... as well as making for a lot of blown trannies. But if you want a great autocrosser, you're still getting a japanese compact. Toyota Starlets kick ass everywhere here... and they're cheap to build into all-out auto-x racers.

And who said anything about Hondas and drifting? I don't even OWN one. I just felt I had to defend what I see as a cheap, decent, and fun to drive car. If you don't get the allure of small cars, then forget it.

1: so i assume there are no scrapyard rwds?
2: everyone drives a riced/fixed up honda

its weird in GT4, i see the preludes/civics/integs lose to the nissan g20, not basing that off anything but i used to own a g20 and that was fun to drive.

Starlets are ugly and id rather autoX a datsun 510

what i dont get is the allure of Hondas in general, i guess i see too many to appreciate them, oh yea that and the fact my bro is a honda tech.

i just had to post in this thread after reading a bunch of BS, but i guess whatever floats yer boat.

OK HERE'S TO YOUR COMMENTS A LITTLE TABLE THAT WILL PROVE YOU WRONG ABOUT HONDA'S IF THEY ARE SO BAD, IT MAY ONLY BE ONE OF HONDA'S CARS IN COMPARISON BUT IM PRETTY SURE IT WILL STOP YOU WHINING LIKE A BABY

Can only see a red x, and i do not agree in the slightest - that aint slow! your just trying to "TELL" everyone honda's are slow they cannot corner worth a damn - you know youself you are just wrong, plain and simple!

0-60 and 0-100 is slow in todays standards, maybe 5 years ago would have been nice.

what im trying to "TELL" everyone is not every honda is a type R, infact if we are talking stock for stock, hondas are slow.

wrong again - that is your opinion not 'Fact' so why 'TELL' people?

ok, lets make a little list of honda's cars, i'll list the engine sizes - you have to list a car of the same class which you 'think' is faster, better.... and so on

ok,

Civic Ek 1.6 V-Tec 158bhp @ 7600rpm (stock)

One thing we do agree about... I once had an SR-powered car, and, yes, it was fun to drive. :)

Starlets may be ugly, but they're best scrapyard cars available (for cheap) for auto-x, what with the tons of aftermarket stuff available... they're new enough to have a good suspension, and just old enough to be rear wheel drive. I do like 510s, but it's harder to put a good one together. :(

PS: This is getting ugly. LOL. :D :D :D
