It's easy when you know the clear signs to look for.

Standard Model:

Interior/Driver is a dead giveaway at first glance. Then look at things like headlight detail and the undercarriage. I have no idea why they couldn't do the 69 Camaro SS in premium when the Z28 was already done...

It is noticeable for sure, but not horrid. Better than GT4. I don't know whats up with that R8 picture that everyone keeps showing. Its obviously the worst one of the batch, and everyone keeps throwing it around like its what every car will look like. Its the same as saying since a kid made a F on a paper in school, all of his other papers are F's too.

That reminds me of what I said earlier. There are multiple pictures of that R8 and everyone seems to be showing the worst one. I'll admit it's not the prettiest, but that doesn't mean that every other car is :yuck:

I use the game how I want to. What are you gonna do about it? If I don't want to use the standard cars because I think they look like crap (they obviously do since they're last gen) I'm not going to either.

I agree, there are an awful lot of patronising people trying to tell others what they should be thinking, voice your own opinion, don't tell other people what they should be thinking.
 
Those screens of the muscle cars that claimed to be standard models, were they ever proven to be standard?

Also, look at the SS. You can faintly see through the windows. Same with the black Cougar, on the far left you can see a little hump that, to me, looks like the outline of a seat.

First I'd like to start of by apologizing if this tread is unnecessary. If so, mods feel free to lock/delete it at anytime.

Alright In many other treads there are endless complaints about standard cars not looking as good as premiums. Standard cars have no interior, etc. And I just want to say that all of that whining and complaining is completely ridiculous.

First off, there are many people saying that they refuse to use the standard cars because of the "possible" lack of a cockpit view, and the fact that they're upscaled GT4 models. And to that I say shame on you. Are you really going to deprive yourself of the majority of the game because of it? We've grown up using most of those cars, we've used them in every GT up until now, and all of a sudden you want to stop? Those of you who say that sound like spoiled ignorant brats.

I for one think that the cars look quite good, and I'm not going to shy away from them. I love each and every one of those cars! I could care less if they're standard or premium. GT5 is GT5 and I for one will enjoy this game to the fullest when it is released.

Well then I apologize if that's what it sounded like. This was started because of the horrible amount of complaining. Which is understandable given the circumstances.

And that was my opinion on the situation then. How does that say that people shouldn't have opinions?
 
Most of us here are pissed off because we've been waiting 5 endless years for GT5.
Not GT4 HD...Got it?
 
You know...I've thought about this a little...Kaz and his team work hard to give us GT, and they do a great job. It's completely understandable why anyone would be disappointed and upset about the standard cars quality and the lack of interior view for them, but has anybody really thought about how PD feels about this? Wouldn't they be just as (or perhaps even more) disappointed about the whole situation as we are? Not being able to give us a "complete" game because of time restraints or whatever. Eh, maybe I'm just looking into it too much, but it's just a thought. :indiff:

Personally I think the standard GT5 models will look like that, maybe even a little bit better, which is perfectly fine by me. 👍

Honestly I don't even know why PD would accept this themselves.
 
There realy is no diverence between those two!!!! only a wait of 5 years.
 
The driver is different though, so the wheels at least should be nice and round like the Premium items. At least the aftermarket wheels will be

And GT4 never looked like this ingame, only in photo mode. This was taken from GTHD which was well after GT4

I dont, you don't and the fans don't.
But like it or not, reviews are the key to getting more people to buy the game, a game that is critically aclaimed scores 9/10's all over and goes to win game of the year DOES draw in more fans. A game that scores a 5/10 does not and in some cases turns to be buyers off.

I don't care how much hate I get from fanboy's (I hate every type of fanboy or every type of game... :@), this is a very embarasing situation.

I won't be using standard. I'll just stick with the 200 current-gen cars and ignore the past-gen repeats.
 
How many cars did GT3 have, 150? I'm just thinking about it, I think a GT6 within the next 3 years is a very realistic thing now.
But Im boggled why they haven't used high res livery on the old models at least :S, the model's them self's aren't all that bad from GT4, its just the livery that is PS2 res, and the horrible glossy effect.

does anyone know if the mazda 787b will be permium, also will audi r12 from this years le mans be in gt5?
 
Not sure if both of these are premium: Audi R10 TDI, Audi R15 TDI PLUS.

The 1991 Mazdaspeed, Inc. 787B will be a premium model because the premium model was featured in the 2009 E3 trailer of Gran Turismo 5 (look on Youtube). The Audi R12 is a DTM car. You are talking about the R15, and no one but PD knows if that has been modeled yet.
