Willow Springs is... eh.
I guess the actual layout is alright, but the backgrounds look VERY bland.

I might consider skipping this track DLC (if it isn't free) and wait until GT5, which almost certainly will have it.

Don't you mean GT6?

Interesting car, excellent trailer, and accessing 7th gear sounds tricky with any 6-speed wheel set.

Use the 'press down at 6th for reverse' function for 7th perhaps?

It isn't the only car in GT5 having 7 gears (458 Italia, California, SLS, C63 to name a few, heck, the IS-F even has 8 gears).

What makes me wonder though what gearbox the GT5-one is going to have, apparantly the C7 is going to be offered with either a 6-speed paddle shift or a 7-speed manual.
The prototype has the 6-speed paddle shift option I guess.

It's on the news page in the comments section. A member pointed out a track that eerily looks like Willow Springs at the 1:40 mark.

Though didn't the NSX have a track in its trailer that is not in GT5?

Yeah I know that, I was referring to his comment that it'd be available to download tomorrow but we've now cleared up he thought the guy was referring to the Vette.

It very may well be available tomorrow but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

Not to stir up anything, but based on the Maintenance that is scheduled and the fact that they're waiting until the PS Store update makes me wonder if this C7 Corvette is just a small piece of a bigger package we might have available to us tomorrow.

It could be but given they're promoting the C7 heavily I can't see any other cars being added alongside it, like I said before that'd take the focus away. They certainly could add the track though, sure, but as I say it's not confirmed.

The maintenance will lead to a patch that adds the C7 and whatever else PD could have planned for the not-so-distant future at other times.

At least it's happening before the store update this time.

I wonder if we'll get more than just the full course?

Willow springs full course

Horse Thief Mile

Cart track

No go ahead, stir it up by all means. Fill yer boots.

Edit. Maintenance too...... Hell yeah!!!

It was the Project X track which later appeared as DLC

I never realized Vette owners wanted a Camaro? The car looks great until you get to the back, then complete fail! It's simply hideous.:yuck::ouch:.

I was thinking the same thing. The back definately looks Camaro'ish. Its like they started designing on the front and when thry got to the back, ran out of ideas and said screw it, and put a Camaro rear end on it.

Exactly! My first thought was wondering how fast aftermarket taillights will be on the market.

It'd need an aftermarket rear end to really squash the Camaro look. The force is strong in this one. :grumpy:

Otherwise, the front and side profiles look great.

Round brake lights don't fit with the design, and it vaguely looks anything like the rear of the Camaro.

I agree.

I'm not a fan of the brake lights and I get the "Brah, 'Vettes always got, like, totally round rear 'ights", but I think the overall design is amazing and that the angular brake lights are the only ones that will fit the rear the angular and muscular styling of the car. They're a small price to pay for the rest of the body...

I'm not keen on the front. It looks like they're trying to match the Viper too much. Rear end looks very very good though. It looks especially scintillating in red. Side is similarly good, only criticism with that is the window looks oddly like that of the R35.

Regarding the "bland" desert scenery on Willow Springs.
That might be favorable to GT5 given the PS3's RAM constraints.
Some of the previous GT5 updates removed some track eye candy.
Some other thread postings have attributed that as an effort to reduce drag on the system.

I don't think the taillights look bad, just different. From certain angles the tailight design makes sense. Some of the initial concept renderings made them look very awkward. Looks much better in the real car. Just so used to seeing the "trademark" 4 roundies.

Think you meant the RouteX track, a ProjectX track might be fun but eventually lead to a lot of unforeseen carnage and trouble.

 oh hahahaha that would be fun indeed

This. Multiple times.

Only angular lights complement that cute ass. I dig it a lot.

Agree 100%. A lot of angular touches and scoops to the body make it look just right in my opinion. First thing I am doing to this when I download it is painting it black on black....:drool:This design just screams paint me all BLACK.

The C7 is gorgeous, sexy, beautiful, aggressive, revolutionary... all of this and more! If it lives up to all the hype (I'm sure it will live up to *most* of it), and is as well-built as they claim, it will indeed deserve the Stingray badge. I am very excited about the new Corvette and I can't wait to see one on the road, in person... too bad it won't go on sale until fall.
