Actually, thanks to an agreement with PD, Official Playstation Magazine will review the game on Oct., 27th!!!

Right! Logic dictates the countdown is to when the game first goes on sale. Not for the thread creator's timezone, no disrespect intended SS. If you want to be that way about it, being GTPlanet is based out of Kentucky in the US, why not make that the countdown timezone? Well that doesn't make sense either, if Kenthcky is in the Central timezone.

Gran Turismo 5 will "officially" go on sale first in the US at 12 midnight in the Eastern timezone, GMT -4.

I cannot speak directly for Mr. Supershouden but I believe he did not start this countdown to be selfish and make everyone use his timer.
If there is any problem or blame you can direct it at me. I was the one who suggested we use his timer since he was the OP.

Look back at some older posts and you will see a mish-mash of dates posted within a few hours of each other and it was confusing/confounding many of us. I suggested that since Mr. Supershouden started this thread we should use his timer to avoid more confusion. I think this works well (imho, ymmv)
:)

I don't know if I've missed anything, but I just noticed today that the release date on IGN has changed from U.S - Nov 2nd to US - Nov 4th... :|

Patrocles, I'm holding firm to the countdown being to when the game goes on sale first, regardless of country or timezone. It keeps it simple. It's nice that there is a link to one's particular timezone. That does not change when the game begins selling on a global level. I have no complaints. I really don't understand why they just didn't go for a global release of Tuesday Nov 2nd. When the clock hits midnight, the window opens up for whatever region of the world. Just think about New Year's Eve. Except we call it "GT Day" ;)

Wow, great news! It kinda reduces my countdown. Could you provide us a link with your resources?

Some guys here need a serious help with Math.

Ok, I promise I'll consider the launch date November 2nd from now on, but I've spent some time looking for this picture, so let me post it. :)

I wouldn't worry about it as they also have the wrong date posted for black ops.

Where would that be ?

Still, for me it is that far away:

Please go by the countdown clock on the front page. And I won't be updating for the different time zones 'cause by the time I get it, get home play it for a little bit and wake up, it'll be a few hours until the latest region gets there copy...and only a couple days before everyone else gets it. Seriously, I'm 8 hours behind Britain. and they get it on the 3rd at the earliest, right? So that means when I get it at midnight, it'll be 8am on the 2nd in Britain. And about noon in Japan. In other words, unless your getting it on the 4th or 5th then the countdown on the front page should be pretty close to accurate for your region.
